Brooks Ravenna 4 Product Review

Short Take

The Brooks Ravenna 4 delivers a blend of balanced cushioning and support that a lot of runners will enjoy.

Big Updates

  • Revised Upper: An improved midfoot saddle allows for a secure lockdown and a more customizable fit.
  • Carryover Platform: The ride that made the Ravenna 3 a hit among many runners goes unchanged in this update.

Road Test

When it comes to shoes in the moderate support, moderate feature category, few models are as understated as the Brooks Ravenna 4. It may not be the sexiest option available, but our testers enjoyed it for its reliability and ability to provide them with a great run.

The cushioning is balanced, offering a fairly soft feel underfoot and a bouncy ride, while the support adequate without intruding into the shoe’s transition. Testers found this shoe cushioned enough to accommodate a heel strike, while the ride was equally pleasant when coming down on the midfoot.

The upper of the shoe is spacious, offering plenty of room for a variety of foot shapes. A close and personalized fit can be achieved through the lacing system, and the dynamic midfoot saddle provides a secure wrap around that area. Overall, the upper delivers a drama-free fit that will make many runners happy.
