Nike LunarGlide+ 4 Product Review

Short Take

Nike’s LunarGlide 4 is a streamlined and stylish trainer that offers a bit of support and performance in an excellent fitting package.

Big Updates

  • New Upper: Nike’s newest innovations such as Engineered Mesh and Dynamic Flywire give this version a personalized fit and some serious style.
  • Lighter Weight: This version sheds an ounce from its previous iteration, with weights of 9.3 oz (Men’s size 9) and 7.9 oz (Women’s size 8).

Road Test

The big news with the LunarGlide 4 is the new upper. The Dynamic Support system cradles the foot and adjusts to changes in the shape of the foot through the gait cycle, providing an adaptive and secure fit. Nike’s Engineered Mesh reduces the need for overlays, meaning fewer seams to rub against and a more flexible upper. Our testers found the toebox snug, and the overall fit is best for runners with lower volume feet.

The midsole offers a soft, pillowy ride characteristic of shoes with Nike’s Lunarlon cushioning. This shoe features ample heel cushioning and is best for heel-to-midfoot striking; forefoot strikers may find the heel only adds unnecessary weight. We found that the Dynamic Support system offers a touch of stability, best suited for mild overpronators.

Overall, we think Nike’s flagship shoe receives some big changes for the better in the LunarGlide 4. We liked the more streamlined feel in comparison to previous versions, and the upper is among the best we’ve slipped our feet into. With these improvements, accompanied by the numerous eye-catching colorways that Nike does best, we expect to see the LunarGlide 4 on the feet of many runners.

Runners Say

The snug toebox and lower volume fit made this feel like a fast shoe to me. The lighter weight definitely added to this fast feeling as well.

As an overpronator, I felt sufficient support for shorter runs, but not enough for a longer run. This shoe would be best suited for a neutral to very mild overpronator.

Nike nailed it with this upper. It's definitely among the most comfortable I've tried lately.
