Product Details:

Revamped with all-new materials, the ASICS Gel Nimbus 25 is a neutral daily trainer that anyone seeking a highly cushioned shoe can enjoy. With more cushioning than ever before, the midsole is packed with FLYTE FOAM BLAST+ ECO foam that offers a soft landing and bouncy toe-off. Meanwhile, ASICS' new PureGEL Technology sits directly under the heel to deliver the brand's signature "Gel" impact absorption in a lighter and softer package. An OrthoLite X-55 Sockliner finishes out the cushioning, improving step in comfort for a luxurious feel from the moment you lace on the shoes.

In the outsole, ASICS LITE rubber is paired with long-lasting AHAR rubber to save weight without compromising durability or grip. The premium design of the shoe continues in the updated knit upper. The stretch knit provides a soft and adaptable fit while a knit tongue construction extends around the ankle for a comfortable hold of the foot. Whether looking for a versatile shoe for your daily runs or a highly cushioned workhorse for long miles, the ASICS Gel Nimbus 25 is ready for the task.

Review of ASICS Nimbus 25Excellent Max cushioned shoe. Second only to the Nike Invincible. Very pleased with the seamless operation at Running Warehouse!

Comfortable but with limitationsI have been wearing Nimbus since the 15's model. Idk what is different with these other than what feels like EVERYTHING inside the shoe. Yes. They are still cushy and not too heavy but my arches are In misery most days after wearing them. I'm a nurse who spends a lot of time on hard floors. The Nimbus used to help keep my feet from the typical aches and pains of cheap shoes. Asics...stop "fixing" what isn't broken!! Great purchase experience from Running Warehouse. Fast shipping and shoes were exactly as expected!

Worn for yearsHave worn the gel nimbus for years now! Steady, strong neutral shoe. Love the tab they have added at the back of the shoe to help you put it on! Very consistent over the years. There are a couple of caveats. Somehow the lace placement can at times make your foot numb?? Also, when I tried to move up a half size, the toe compartment was so much larger my foot slipped around and the friction irritated my foot. So, I went back down to my original size. I honestly hate to criticize the shoe but perhaps this will be heard and fixed as I do love the gel nimbus.

MehGreat walking shoe or for a heel striker, but if you land mid foot, this shoe is not nearly as cushioned or responsive as advertised. Bought it for running, ended up demoting it a walk around shoe.

Too warmVery soft, would be great for recovery runs were it not for one major flaw. The upper is padded, and that initially feels nice, but it only took about a mile into the shoes to realize the padding cuts out all breathability. My feet got uncomfortably hot very quickly.

Hot!I’ve been running for over 50 + yrs (I’m 69/165 lbs) and never felt this: as soon as put them on my feet are on fire. I just wanted to try Asics and I’ve been wearing Sauconys Triumph 20 and Hokas Bondi 8. I tried 3 different kinds of socks but nothing changed. I run 5 times 3 miles and I’m disappointed. $170!! in addition, the rest of the shoe is weird with it being súper cushioned it is almost too much. The tongue stretches nicely but is that sock that makes it HOT. I’ll try poking some holes or returning them.

Could be improvedFor the price tag I was expecting a softer and more comfortable shoe. The lacing system could also be improved, as there are some uncomfortable pressure points along the lacing system

Great shoe!I came back to ASICS after a long hiatus because of the Nimbus 25. I can’t compare to previous models but this shoe is pretty perfect. A great daily trainer and long run shoe, even a race day contender for us party folks in the back of the pack.

Too Cushioned for me ..I like cushioned shoes to a point . I have run in every NovaBlast model many Clifton’s and Bondi shoes but these are just tooooo Soft . My heel sinks down to far on impact . They feel Great at first but after 6 miles or so I feel like I’m just sinking down too far in the midsole .

Very differentIt too a few days to become used to the wider, more cushioned shoe. I felt that I'd lost contact with the ground. Now I've come to like the cushioning (and the loop on the back that aids in pulling on the shoe). This model is less stable on uneven terrain, but the tradeoff is worth it.

Use It For Its IntentIt's cushiony, responsive, and great for long slow runs. It's pretty heavy and the 8mm drop is almost too much due to the squashiness of the midsole. A lower drop would be great. Make it lighter PLEASE. Also the heel cup is padded nicely but the material Asics uses is very thin and flimsy. Like in the Novablast 3. I wore a hole in it at around 200 miles unfortunately. Last, another reviewer said there is memory foam in this shoe. There is no memory foam in this shoe.

nice comfort shoeI haven't worn a pair of ASICS shoes in 15 years, but after watching videos, and reviews I gave these are try. At first I thought they were too squishy, But after running in them they felt amazing on the feet. Good stability, great for long runs. This is where the shoe shines. So far the durability is holding up nicely, and expect to get lots of miles out of the shoe.

Loved the design, but not the componentsActually had to return these shoes because I didn't like the technology. Asics uses memory foam which may be okay for walking or standing for long periods, but not for working out. There's really no energy return with memory foam because the material is made to literally collapse around the shape of your feet. Not for me.

Ok but unremarkableThis shoe is kind of standard for what has been my experience with Asics, OK but you kind find many shoes in the same class for less money that perform better. Pro's: - This shoe is the first Asics model that delivers on the kind of plush cushion I enjoy. Even with the Novablast, I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps because of all the Rave. Sometimes I here so many remarkable things about a shoe that my expectations when I try them are let down. That was what happened with the Novablast. These shoes however, were a very pleasant surprise. I am very glad that Asics is moving away from the solid hard rubber they put in the heels many of their shoes. The Asics signature GEL technology was nothing more than hard rubber to me on the ride. - Nice Upper - I appreciated soft upper. Cons: - This is typical Asics, they charge a lot more for shoes in the same class. Sketchers MaxRoad 6, The HOKA Clifton 9, Saucony Endorphin Shift, New Balance X More are all less expensive and in my opinion, better shoes. - 8mm drop - this shoe has a steep drop for my taste. Some shoes, its not noticeable but in these it is. For running shorter distances (under 5 miles) this isnt a problem but anything over that, a drop this steep puts pressure on the balls of my foot that become painful. I think the design is a better direction for Asics but this is why purchase many other brands over Asics.

a good shoeIt's a good shoe for running slowly. Lots of cushion and a good, for what it is, ride. It isn't as "fast" (this is relative term for such a soft shoe) as Nike's Invincible Run (at least the first version, which is what I have), since it feels like a lower heel-to-toe offset. It's sort of in-between the Nike and early Hoka Bondi shoes, though with none of the feeling of being off-balanced that the Hoka shoes had.

Shoes are awesomeI’ve ran with ASICS, Nike, Hoka, and New Balance for over 15 years….the redesigned Nimbus is my favorite…it has more cushion than the Hoka Bondi’s and more room in the toe box( I wear a 4E)…the response when landing is great and it’s light…I just bought another pair as I go through several pair of shoes annually

Numb ToesI have always loved Asics and had run in various models for the better part of 20 years. However, I had switched recently to Hoka Clifton for the past 2 years. Looking to compliment my Clifton's I opted to add the new Nimbus to my footwear rotation. From all outward appearances, the specs and character of the Nimbus mirrored what I liked about the Clifton so I felt comfortable ordering a pair. Once the Nimbus arrived, the step In comfort was amazing, but I also noticed that there was appreciably more toe spring in the Nimbus and thought "great, I get through my gait much quicker. After a 4.5 mile run, my toes started to go numb and the bootie collar had rubbed my ankle bone raw to the point that it drew blood. Still liked the overall comfort and from my experience, Asics midsoles take a bit of breaking in so I thought I'd add some heel lifts to bring my foot level up a bit, slapped on some band aids and went out again for a shorter run. The lifts cured the abrasion issue, but my toes went numb again. Turns out that the tradeoff for more toe spring was less cushioning under the toes. Very disappointed in the Nimbus... They looked great, had a great stack height and were incredibly comfortable from the metatarsal heads back to my heel. I tried to like these shoes, but would hobble around after wearing them. The team at Running Warehouse have been awesome. They agreed to switch the nimbus out for On Cloud Surfers and I hope to have better luck with those.

Plush and luxuriousMax cushioned well built shoe perfect for long runs. The cushion is bouncy and the step in feel is super comfortable. I got the lime zest color way which is bright. The rocker of the shoe softly rolls through the foot strike. The upper gives a good lockdown.

Over all product satisfactionOver all I'm satisfied with these shoes. Opinion may change as to wear ability as they are still very new. The fit is good, 1/2 size larger than what I normally wear. The toe space is better than other shoes. As I bought these do to physical conditions of my foot, they do hurt after wearing for long periods, I believe this to be more from the physical condition of my feet than the shoe itself. I would and have already recommended these shoes.

Radical shoe design change-JURY STILL OUTFit true to size. Slippery on wet roads. I have worn Asics Nimbus over several years. The jury is still out on the new update (or radical redesign). Asics Nimbus WAS my everything shoe-speed work, recovery runs, long runs, half and full marathons. Although I did just run Boston 2023 in them (and yes they were slippery and scary at times on the wet roads) it seems they are a bit too cushiony for a race shoe. I am 54 yr old seasoned marathoner and Ill take additional protection with slightly added weight for protection to work to stay uninjured, but I am currently trying to figure out what different shoe to switch to for speed work, and possibly for everything. This is a totally different shoe NOT an update to my previous loved traditional Nimbus which HAD a reputation of being a non gimmicky running shoe.

The 25 is morphing into something other thanPlush, but no longer feels like a Nimbus. Very little pronation, toe box cramped (needed half size larger) and feels like running on a padded frisbee (even the D width feels wide)

Soft And RockeredIt isn’t perfect - a little softer and heavier than I’d like. But the rocker hits me in the right spot - starts further forward than the Novablast so feels like less drop. Great for cruising 10 miles at a slow pace after a workout. I was hoping the Cumulus would be a firmer version of this but it is not. Seems they need the extra stack to create the rockered feeling up front. Overall great easy day shoe for high mileage weeks.

Amazing Daily TrainerIf you race in “super shoes” and want the same level of bounce without the carbon plate or price tag for daily runs, this is the shoe for you. First time trying ASICS after trying (and not loving) the Metaspeed Sky+ and I actually like this shoe more. It’s smoother, quieter, equally bouncy and more stable. Not every run is a PR attempt, but it should be fun, so it’s nice to finally have a well cushioned cruiser that doesn’t feel bricky and dumpy. These bounce along happily at most paces and feel easy on the legs. Grip could be better on wet asphalt but it’s not bad. Length is TTS, maybe a tad long - but I wouldn’t necessarily size down because the end of the toe box tapers quite a bit. Would LOVE this shoe in a summer (thinner/cooler upper) and winter (GTX upper) version. Otherwise, don’t change a thing!

Gel Nimbus 25Overall a very good recovery/trainer shoe. I found you can still go decent pace for training runs. Other max stack hight shoes, the drop from heel to toe is counter productive to a mid sole stick; leaving the same amount of foam in that area that a regular trainer would have. The Gel Nimbus 25 I feel has a good amount of foam throughout the sole with less of a drop with a nice toe off feel. The upper and tong of the shoe create a sock like feel on the foot. I would say the only down side is the only con is the feel of the toe box when running down very steep hills. overall I am a big fan.

Not hoka wana beThey kinda looks like hokas with that cloud under foot, but they have a nice bounce, even in the heat. They had good lockdown, but I still used the runners tie down for that bit more. They are good for 10ks and below.

Best shoes for recovery and long runsStarting off by first mentioning that I was a full on Nike loyalist. I didn’t really consider any other shoes. That was the case until I saw many people rave about these. Thought I’d give them a shot. And all I have got to say is these shoes are amazing. The Nimbus 25s have the perfect amount of cushioning for long runs and recovery runs. Would I recommend these for a workout? Probably not, but they are great for a bulk of your miles. I’m definitely grabbing a second pair after my marathon is over. I also found the size and width to be perfect. I wear size 12 4E in Nike Pegasus and the Nimbus size 12 4E fit perfectly fine as well. Given that ASICS has blown me away with this shoe, I would love to see them make their racing shoes come in wider sizes too. I would be a full ASICS concert at that point.

Not for me but could work for youI decided to try ASICS for a change and ordered them online. I guess I have low ankles - the side scoops aren’t deep enough for me and the shoe rubs on my ankle just enough to be annoying. Also, they are plenty cushy but after wearing a few times one of my knees started to hurt - the outer side of the shoe some is maybe too soft for me, I think I need more support. I went back to my Hokas for last weekend’s 5k and will probably return to them for my next purchase.

High quality comfort. The shoe is very comfy. I use all my road shoe attempts out on trails. This unit handles trails REALLY WELL. Generous toe box, awesome midfoot security, plush comfy and secure heel compartment. Tongue doesn't move around - AWESOME. What I don't understand - Why 8 mm of offset on a cruiser shoe? - Why not 4-6mm? For me, 8mm starts to get annoying after a while. Also, the midsole foam.... The Trabuco Max 2 is way more fun than the foam on the Nimbus 25. The Nimbus 25 foam feels like New Balance Fresh Foam - takes care of the landing well and doesn't offer much more. (We're getting spoiled as runners!!) This is a fairly rad shoe, and it's going to be in the mix. I like the ride of the Trabuco Max 2 much more, and I'd like to give the Glide Ride 3 a test out

Good shoe .... just not as good as the 24'sTwo small issues I have are that they reduced the weight of the shoe compared to the last model (I like my trainers a little heavier, 10 oz at least) and they did it by making the upper toe box less substantial which makes the shoe feel too much like a slipper in the toe area. I love the once piece design of the tongue. At first I thought it was going to be flimsy and bunch up, but when you pull it tight it hugs the top of your foot like a glove. Plenty of cushion - maybe too much for some. The stack height is that of a Hoka. I'm pleased with my purchase and will buy another pair, I just prefer the previous model better.

AmazingI don’t typically write reviews, but since I base a lot of my decisions off reviews, I figured I would take the time to write on about the new nimbus 25’s. As far as quality of the shoe I’m pretty impressed. ASICS definitely nailed different shoes in one. I have used these for a recovery run, tempo and a long run so far. I actually have a pair of shoes for every type of run, but these nimbus do it all and they are super comfortable too. Since I first put on the nimbus I instantly told myself as soon as I wear these ones out, I’ll be buying them again without question. All grey errrrthang!!

Perfect Easy/Recovery Run ShoeThe ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25 is the perfect easy/recovery run shoe! It's a total redesign and overhaul of the Nimbus and ASICS nailed it! So much foam and the flytefoam blast+ is so soft but has good push off too. Felt like I was running closer to 8:20 pace (was actually running 7:50-8:05) on my double today; it wouldn't be marathon training without doubles. It has a great fitting upper, the tongue doesn't slide at all. The Nimbus used to heavy and clunky but version 25 is barley over 10oz with all that cushioning. Will be a great easy/recovery run shoe and it's a better made shoe for the environment.
