Product Details:

The ASICS METASPEED Edge Paris is a fast and efficient racing shoe designed to help athletes reach a new personal best in road races, especially the half and full marathon. The Edge Paris is specifically engineered for cadence runners by directing the energy return in a forward direction to facilitate faster leg turnover.

In the midsole, the shoe features FF TURBO PLUS foam which delivers an ultra-responsive and highly cushioned ride to help runners effortlessly fly by their competitors. To maximize the responsiveness further, the positioning of the carbon fiber plate is angled to increase propulsion and increase stride cadence to make running fast feel easy.

The shoe's outsole is composed of a durable ASICSGRIP rubber that ensures traction through all road conditions, and a new MOTION WRAP 2.0 upper completes the ASICS METASPEED Edge Paris with a race-ready fit and breathable finish that not only reduces weight but secures the foot firmly on the shoe's platform. Overall, the ASICS METASPEED Sky Edge is an excellent option for cadence runners looking to maximize their performance in long-distance races.

confident comfortMore comfortable than the Edge +, less wobbly than a Vaporfly, grippy on wet roads under wet grass clippings, shedding moisture without gaining weight, and keeping feet happy for hours at paces expected only on optimal days, the Edge Paris has lived up to hopes so far. Wear patterns suggest they may not last quite as long for me as the Edge + but longer than their Nike or Saucony rivals.

Perfect but not for meI run those shoes for a half marathon a month ago. Destroyed a few PBs including my 10k PB and that says something. Those shoes are incredibly light, fast and propel you fwd very effectively. I also find them very beautiful and inspiring. However they are very narrow on the heel, and in retrospect I should have bought a full size up. Arch support quite intensive too. One month after the race and my ankle hasn't fully recovered from the punishment. Thus no matter how I love this shoe I would recommend to wide foot and/or heel strikers to thoroughly try it first for comfort and maybe considering a full size up.

Maybe good for a different foot-strike/gaitBackground - 140ish lbs, marathon pace - 182 cadence, 7:35/mile pace, rear-foot striker. VF1, 2, 3 preferred over the many other carbon plated shoes I have used (Adidas, Endorphin, Mizuno, New Balance, Puma, Salomon). 21+ miles in the Edge. Based on multiple reviews, went with Edge over Sky Paris due to low-plate design and likely a cadence runner. Fit and finish good. Upper was TTS. Weight is just above my VF1 and VF3 by .1/.2 oz. Flaw in my pair where the right heel was assembled incorrectly (more angle into the heel) causing rubbing -- this cause me to have to return the shoe. Edge felt very cushioned/large in the forefoot (almost too much). Very constent feel across the length of the shoe during the run/transition, like the VF3. But, I missed the extra stack /propulsion in the heel. Felt like extra work to get to transition at marathon pace (reminded me of the AF1, which I didn't prefer). This was less noticable at faster paces. Durability seems better than the VF3. The foam doesn't seem to wear as badly (though I probably need 50 miles to be sure). Outsole in the heel was starting to wear slightly more than the VF1/VF2. VF3 at this point was already impacting midsole in the heel due to the flatter configuration of the lateral/medial "pucks." I will stick to the VF for now since I don't want to spend more time/money testing to see if the Sky is better. But, if you like the AF1, my guess is you might like this shoe.

ASICS is back!!6 mile tempo straight out of the box: super light, and firm (in a good/supported way)! You can definitely feel the “pop” from the plate unlike some other race shoes that just feel sloppy. A bit snug but it’s expected from a race day shoe. Honestly would rank it at my top 3 racing shoes (Next% 2 and endorphin elite are others)

Way too smallI'm a Women's 9.5 in the Novablast and I could barely fit my foot into the 9.5 in the Metaspeed Edge. As soon as I took the shoe out of the box, I could tell it was small. Will probably need a full size up.

smooth rolli started with the sky+ and realized after a few months that my cadence and knee drive made me a better fit for the edge+ and i couldn't be happier. these do not have that initial step in softness of some of the other super shoes and are certainly better fitting for lower volume feet. once i had about 30 miles on them they softened up really nicely. i'm a supinator with a slight heel strike and the transitions and drop of these shoes are much nicer than the sky+ for my running style. i was true to size in my colorway (sky/hazard green). good lockdown, fit and feel. my favorite "super shoe". i run halfs and marathons. 40-50 mpw. 5'9 and 150 lbs.

A really good racing shoe.If your not use to running in a minimalist carbon plated shoe then these may not be for you but if your a cadence runner and are use to a carbon plate then these rank up there with the Saucony Endorphin Pro 3's. Not sure which I like better honestly between Pros and edge+ but they are very close to being equal in my favorite shoe for speed work. They work me because they are light and fast.

Comfy and fastFits true to size, plenty of room and comfy for 5k-marathon. The lower plate reduces the pressure on my metatarsals, so I don't have the same discomfort that I've had with other super shoes.

You will run fast... To return them!Giving up on the Asics. I had terrible hot spots throughout and changing sizes did not do any good. When I called Asics, if it was not something not their response script, they could not answer the questions and pretty much had a if you don't like them we have plenty of customers that will" - attitude. I am not a professional runner but have been running my share of marathons for years. If you are a pro runner that weights 125 with very narrow feet these may be for you, but in hindsight, I thought wow, for the price I can get so many other great options at running warehouse for less money and a superior product. I know that super shoes are designed for the most part to be very basic and minimal an materials for racing, however even with that in mind, (as I have two other brands of super shoes), I just kept looking at this shoe wondering what is in these shoes that makes them so expensive? Well I could not find the answers in the ride, the shoe itself or the customer service. I strongly recommend looking at other super shoe options on this web site.

Narrow toe boxI tried this on with the Sky+ with high hopes for the Edge as I am more of a cadence runner. However, the toe box was too narrow and no matter how much I walked around, the small size I felt would lead to many black nails. I have a narrow foot, size 8.5-9.0. I ordered the 9.0. Sent it back. The Sky+ however, was very comfortable

Mucho Mucho Caca!Spoiler Alert - this shoe is so bad, and I was so disgusted with the mistake I made, I threw them in the Salvation Army Donations bin! not kidding. This is a good review to practice writing Spanish. Spanish words that describe this shoe: - caca - basura From what I see people either really like or really regret this shoe, I guess this is par for the course as I had a ompletely different experience than the other reviewer. I bought this shoe with intent to make it my marathon race day shoe. I would not dare runn in this shoe more than a 5k and thats pushing it for me. Its awful. I found several reviewers that like this shoe are saying its good for a 5k or a 10k but not ideal for additional miles. Well even if thats the case, why spend 250 dollars on 1 "if'ee" shoe when you can buy 3 pair of very good race flats that handle those distances far better and faster ? I encourage anyone really interested in this shoe to look at race flat alternatives. If you are dead set on giving up the 250 for these (which by the way, is the original price that has not come down one penny even on earlier models, thanks Asics! This must be a really great shoe! Wait, what? what the ...!)) , then I definately suggest saving the boxing, tags and receipt until you see if you have horrible issues after running 12+ miles.

Ready to rollI was really happy with the Metaspeed Sky last year, but reviews I read indicated that I might be interested in the Edge+ for this iteration so I gave them a shot. They fit true to size. I've only got about 20 miles in them so far over 2 different workouts, the first 4-5 miles they felt pretty stiff and not super responsive but by the end of the first workout and for the entirety of the second workout they felt great. Turnover felt smooth, transitions were silky with a nice responsive feel, and the cushion came alive. My biggest grievance has been I've been unable to keep the laces tied without double knotting. Obviously not the biggest problem in the world, and I can certainly double knot easy enough, but I've had these come untied 4 times in ~20 miles while I have other shoes with 400+ that have never come untied once. All in all, I am happy with the shoe and looking forward to some more workouts and races to really put it through its paces.
