Comments: Very impressed with this gel. First of all, the packaging is very easy to open while on the run, which is most important. If you can't open it, what's the point of having it? The consistency was just right for an energy gel; it was think enough to where it wasn't coming out of the packaging once it was opened, however not think enough to make it difficult to swallow without any liquid. The flavor was great; I choose lemon because it had the most sodium and is caffeine free. The flavor was strong enough to be noticed, but not overwhelming. Finally, it delivered on what it is designed to do, which is give you energy. There wasn't an instant spike in energy like some gels provide, but more of a steady amount after consuming one. This gel has a low amount of sugars to carbohydrates, which makes it a good gel for longer endurance events. The larger amount of sodium makes it nice it you sweat a lot or plan on staying hydrated mostly through water. Even though this gel cost more than others, including a different version of its own brand, it's worth it.

Comments: Love the Roctane gels and all the flavors are delicious. I'm a heavy salt sweater so I use roctane over regular gu gels for longer runs. During a marathon I usually take 3 roctane gels about 7 miles apart. No stomach issues with these gels. I've used Powerbar in the past but these taste better and I think the thicker consistency is easier on my stomach.
