Great for my bad knees and tough sole.I have bad knees but walking is my favorite exercise. I walk on average 125-150 mile per month. These are the best shoe I've had so far. Also I'm very hard on my sole of shoes usually ware down fast and these soles are holding up. LOVE THIS FOR WALKING/ HIKING

Excellent cushioning & wide toe boxI have 6 toes if you count my bunions. I've been a loyal hoka bondi fan since they first came out. I love the cushion for long runs, but prefer to run trails over roads. Bondi's are great but hard to run trails in. My foot never felt stable and sloshed around over rocky terrain. These New Balnces have tons of room, but my foot is stable the entire run. I put in a lot of miles each week, and the durability of these shoes are impressive. The lugs are these are insane, they grip everything and it feels lile I can run up a wall! Insanely comfortable, which is why I have to bid farewell to my Bondi's.

I'm torn.At first glance, I fell in love with these shoes. The bright yellow with the gray stole my heart. I wore them a couple days before getting to actually run in them and they are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. But here's where I struggle. My legs feel very fatigued running in these, almost like I am running in sand. As comfy as they are, I am afraid they are too soft. I am going to give it couple more runs to make sure, but I may have to return for something a bit firmer. For reference, I have done two runs in them so far, 14 miles and 5 miles.

Final long haull and new unit follow up -My first pair was the yellow units.... I used them for pulled calve easy hiking recovery, then trail work, using a heavy pack to get to trail work. I didn't keep track of the mileage. The heel pontoons eventually compressed down and spread out - The shoe's midsole , for the heel area - was toeast. I have recently bought 3 new pairs of these shoes. Keeping track of mileage. Of this new batch, I ran daily in the orange pair - which is up to about 40-50miles right now - the midsole heel pontoons settle in a bit, but the shoe's midsole is feeling super rad - maybe flirting with bottoming out on fast trail downhills. This shoe will now be rotated with the other 2 units, and the Rift, and probably no use on weekends. I think the design of the pontoons combined with the Freash Foam is a little fragile. I think the middle zone should be filled in with foam - this stuff is so soft it's not going to transform into a work boot. For weight savings, smaller Speedgoat/ Fuji/ Trabuco/ Caldera type treads!! A booty upper halfway up the lace pattern would be awesome as well, shortening the tongue and maintaining 7 holes. Lastly, a snug lace strap across the midfoot upper to stash tied laces. This shoe, being a taller stack shoe- I wear thin socks for all trail running - super flexible fore foot results in dopiing- like ability to climb. High speed out sloping/ off chamber descents - no issues. Prolonged borring flat sections - shoe goes into comfy efficient cruise mode - springy with no pounding. Ability to handle steep lumpy descents and the upper/toe box zone feels like a comfy sock. And lastly, with shoes under 50miles so far, monster truck ability to step through and on ruts and rocks without dancing. My yellow pair are in perfect shape - upper is unscathed, and the knobs look barely scuffed.... but the midsole under the heel has compressed 98%!!!!!! More Trail 4 should be interesting!!!!!

The sole is falling apartI have to buy and bring a shoe glue to my Europe vacation. The outer sole just keeps on getting loose. VERY poorly constructed. Quite embarassing with my co-vacationers having to stop and glue several times. Worst shoes ever purchased from Running Warehouse.

Most comfortable shoe I've wornThese are by far the most comfortable shoes I have warned. The myth fabric on top allows for my hammer toe. The traction on the bottom will ensure that I do not slip even in the winter. I highly recommend these shoes For people with foot pain, They are exceptional.

More trail v3I have been a loyal HOKA consumer for the last decade. Specifically the speedgoat. I am an elite level trail runner and put in anywhere from 50-100 miles a week depending on the season and what I am training for. I have had knee surgeries and need the extra cushion. The last 2 speed goat models I have not liked but have not found anything else to run in that works until this shoe. I love this shoe. Typically the NB shoes are too narrow for me and I went back and forth with getting standard width or wide as I don’t where wide shoes but have a wider foot. Base off the reviews I went with standard and I am glad I did. Fit is great. I did put a bit more of a structure food bed in it and it has proven to work very well for me! I have ran on dirt ,pavement , wet, dry and moderately technical trails.

update to previous reviewI was mostly walking quickly with this shoe before - super soft and comfy, in control. As I started to jog more quickly recently, I find the shoe heel to be VERY soft. I'm 155lbs, neutral lander, and I feel like I'm bottoming out with each landing, similar to the More 4 Road. I think NB needs to fill in that pontoon/ trampoline zone with midsole - those pontoons crush in with easy jogging. For me, the upper works, I stay on top of the midsole, but the upper of the More 3 Road is more engineered, and more effective at holding me on top of the midsole. If your body weight is more than 170lbs, you might be bottoming out while using these shoes. You will be bottoming out on fast downhills.

Best iteration of the More Trail series.....My review is a try-on/ observation review. Thrashed my right calf muscle just prior to being able to use this shoe. This is the softest iteration of this series yet - and very comfy. Generous toe box, narrowed down midfoot - but not too tight - semi flexible heel compartment with comfy full lock down. No over plush padding in this shoe - just enough. The upper is basically overlay free except on the sidewalls and the material is flexible and almost sock like. FULLY GUSSETED tongue!! - and lightly padded. The heel flair/ knobby contact with the ground is about he same as the More 3/4 road shoes- very wide. Heel knob width same as Trabuco Max 2. The midsole combined with the Vibram treads is VERY flexible for a max stack. This shoe will climb well and adapt to wiggly terrain easily. If I had any concerns, the toe box might be a smidge short, and I'm not sure how the soft heel pontoons (with Vibram knobs) will ride on extended outsloped trails - prolonged off camber stuff - it could be a lot of force coming down on one "pontoon". The More 4 road pontoons worked ok stability wise on trails but bottomed out too easily. Dont feel the knobs too much on quick sidewalk jogs. Higher foam sidewalls create the bucket/cradle effect for this shoe. Laced up with all the eyelets, tongue still comes out above the top lace with about 3/8" length. DETAILS NAILED!!!!! What's missing - those little lace stash bands across the top of the shoe - no stress way to stash the laces. This shoe looks and feels insane. New Balance took a different approach to this More 3 trail shoe. This and the Trabuco Max 2 are awesome max stack shoes.... the More 3 being much more plushy feeling.

Trail shoe favorite and even better than v3!This shoe provides the most plush cushion over long miles of trail running and more importantly is a very STABLE max cushion trail shoe. The New Balance More line has been treating me excellently! I used the previous version of this trail shoe and currently use the road version (Fresh Foam X More v4 and V3 version of the road shoe prior to that). In other words, the NB X More line has been delivering and so far getting a bit better with each version for both the trail and road versions. V4 is better specifically because the design of the midsole is wider than v3 was. Having a wide sole for shoes with a max stack height is so important to maintain a stable ride. I have other max cushion shoes that I like, but a couple of them make me a tad nervous because there are times when the ride feels a bit unstable and wobbly. That has not been the case at all with the X More v4 Trail. If a max cushion ROAD shoe is a bit wobbly I can live with it because I can see the predictable road surface. In trail running, I do not dare run in a shoe that feels unstable as I can step into any number of hidden divots and holes and snap goes my ankle. For me, the only proven way to make a max cushion shoe stable is by making the midsole wide. Which is why I don't understand why other model shoes with Max stack height lack this design feature. Regarding the weight, like its road shoe cousin and the previous trail version, not an issue for me. It does not feel at all heavy because they did a great job in distributing the weight across the whole shoe and again, because of the wide mid-sole. The upper material is very comfortable with no hot spots and conforms just right to my foot. I also think the looks of this shoe is awesome. I think the color combination and the designs on the upper are striking. I liked the looks online, but in person, the shoe to me looks twice as good. This may not be a design favorite for conservative consumers but I love it! The only thing I cant attest to yet is how it handles moisture. v3 did a very good job especially for a non-gortex model, so I suspect that v4 will be no different (would LOVE to see a gortex/waterproof version of this shoe! Make the midsole FuelCell as well and boy, you have THEE trail shoe in my opinion) . Lastly, of all my running shoes, both the X MORE road and the X MORE trail are excellent quality! I purchased v4 because I love this product line, but I did not necessarily need to. My v3 trail shoes have over 300 miles and you would never know it! No holes in the upper, the rubber outsole still strong and still maintaining the plushness. and I cant see why this shoe will not be able to exceed 450 to 500 miles. I highly recommend this shoe! If I could only buy one pair of trail shoes for the year, this definitely takes the title.
