AwfulHeavy, forefoot is too firm, and the hollowed out heel lead to bottoming out of the heel. This shoe is really a negative drop shoe because of the awful heel midsole design. Don't buy. Save your money for better shoes

Great, exceptVery comfortable for those long, easy miles (or walking). I still give it 4 stars, but there are a couple issues: I never thought I cared whether shoes ran “warm” or not but this one made me notice my feet getting hot. Also, I get blisters in the arch support on both feet. I’d wager that changing the insoles would minimize both of these issues.

The perfect shoeI spent 21 years in combat boots. I promised myself I'd be comfortable the rest of my life. No dress shoes no suits. I've tested several brands and nothing comes closed to these new balance... I love the look, the sole.. I have several pairs and will wear not another shoe..lol

Perfect recovery day shoeThis is my first NB shoe ever and I'm very pleased with them. I was looking for a max cushion shoe for my training and after some research this looked like my best option. So far I've done everything between a 7:30 and 8:30 minute per mile pace in them and I think they're perfect at about a pace of 8 to 8:15. I think this is a perfect shoe for the day after a hard workout when your feet are a little tired/beat up or for easy days when you just want to run at a slower pace. The longest run I've done in them up to the point of writing this has been 5.5 miles, but I think they would also be great for long runs at a slower pace since they keep your feet feeling very fresh. If I had one complaint about them it would be that they feel very sluggish on the uphills. Since there's so much cushion they just feel like giant marshmallows when you're trying to push up a hill. Fortunately though, it's practically the opposite on the downhills. With most running shoes I can't help but feel like I'm slamming the ground with my feet when running downhill, but with all of the foam on these suckers it makes running downhill a joy. On my first run in these I tied the laces the same way I do on every other pair of running shoes, but during the run I felt some slippage. So for my second run in them I tried the runner's loop and it seemed to do the trick. I think I'm just used to laces that have a different lockdown. Overall, I would highly suggest the More v4's for slower running, jogging, and even walking.

Too Soft.Maybe for someone else/lighter, they might be perfect, but they're TOO soft for me. They do feel springy which is great, but literally feel like I'm on marshmallows.

EE Wide Or EEEE Wide? Overweight? Its very aggravating when you wear EE or EEEE shoes and you search for HOURS only to come up with the right "looking" shoes, but....No reviews for EE or EEEE. If there ARE reviews they're not much help. HOPEFULLY my review will help you! Seems like the only shoes that are worth anything are expensive! But! When you have Wide feet, what are to do? Settle? If you want a soft, quality shoe, you already know its going to expensive! For the last 4 years I bought Hokas, The Bondi line. You'd think that for 165.00 you'd get more than 4 months out of them. Nope! I don't anyway. Yes, I'm overweight, 307lbs. Yes, that is a lot of weight and to have even 165.00 shoe last FOUR months (max) is to be expected. Sooner or later your done! Sick of paying their high prices! I searched a HOURS for reviews on EE and EEEE shoes, those reviews were far and in-between, if there was even anything included except for 4 or 5 stars. I took a chance, in hoka bondi series they've gotten narrower as the new "models" came out. Thats what happens when you have manufacturing change countries So in the Bondi line, I went from a EE to a EEEE and no weight change! Wearing the EEEE, I could STILL feel the inside of my arch (I have low arches) hang right on top of the molding of the shoe! After 2 or 3 weeks, the shoes gave in and adjusted to me. I knew I needed another pair, so I ventured off to the adidas brand, WHOA! NEVER again! They're even narrower than the bondis! I waited too long to return them, so there went more money down the drain! After hours of searching, reading and thinking about, I finally gave into these Max cushion New Balance. They didn't have them in 4E but the research I'd done, the claim was that they were significantly wider from normal shoes to 2E I found the actual size measurements, and with that knowledge, I was hopeful that the New Balance Max New Foam shoes in EE would fit, be soft, and actually be MAX cushioned! I am SOOOOOO glad I took the chance! In a EE New Balance, MY FEET FIT! They feel so nice NOT hanging over the molding on the sole of the shoe. They are SOFT, well cushioned in every step I take! The arch, yes, I can feel it, but it's NOT uncomfortable, it just forms right along with the rest of foot. If you've worn the bondi 5, 6, or 7 models you know how soft those are. The new balance max foam is about 90% the same for softness, cushioning, cloud like. If you've never worn bondi models, then maybe you've tried sketchers "soft / cushioned" shoes. Comparing new balance to sketcher? New balance would be 150% softer than the MAX sketcher. If you've worn any big box store shoes, that were 20.00 a pair, friend, yes the sticker price difference is huge, but! You will understand once you try the new balance max foam. Think of any big box store 20 - 30.00 shoes, and now put 7 pairs of new insoles in them at one time. You'd expect soft right? New balance is even better than that! EE is perfect for my feet in New Balance Max Foam. In bondis? Id need a 6E minimum! I hope this review helps your back, your knees, your feet AND you! Bonus! They're 15.00 less than bondis!

New Balance Can Do BetterI have used N.B. for years, always wearing Size 11 4E. Purchased this model in same size but was to small, both in width and length. Returned them for 11 1/2 4E. Same problem. Also, not a very stable shoe. The soles are so soft for comfort that they roll over on the sides giving very little support for athletic use. Thank God for Running Wearhouse they happily accepted returns with free shipping. Finally took their advice and exchanged for Brooks 11 4E and they're perfect.

Awesome ShoeI am recovering from a broken ankle with multiple surgeries. I was having trouble with pain in my foot/ankle once I was able to put 100% on that leg. These shoes made a huge difference. They are comfortable, but they also help absorb the hardness of concrete, flooring. Really made a difference for me. Love the fact that NB has a 4E in these shoes.

Exceeds all my Expectations! Highly RecommendThe New Balance More line has been treating me excellently! I started using version 3 and now on 4's. This shoe is remarkable. I am so glad when I get a max cushion shoe that actually feels like max cushion. I cant understand the thinking behind the design choices of a lot of other max cushion models (models rated high or max cushion) that may have the cushion in terms the material qty and stack height, but feel no more cushioned than a lot of 30mm (or less) stack height daily trainers with a lot of hard rubber. The More line has been outstanding! The cushion is awesome and I think that the design choice to make the midsole wide to for a stable ride with a high stack height is the way to go! OF all the max cushion shoes, the More line is just spot on for feeling safe stable and very cushioned. This shoe is fun, comfortable and really feels much lighter than its actual weight (I really think this is due to how new balance, really pays attention to equally dispersing the weight of the shoe and excuse the pun, very balanced). The upper is extremely comfortable and one of the best in the business. It is soft stretchy and very0 well designed. As far as the quality - top notch! The 3's that I still have and use are in very good condition with 300+ miles. No flattening of the cushion (in fact I would say it even improved with miles), the rubber outsole holding up very well and the uppers, not a trace of any holes or rips. I disagree with anyone that limits themselves to what people say the shoe should be used for (this goes for any and all shoes). This shoe is a leg saver for marathons and my feet feel great! I agree not a fast PR shoe, but not slow as many would believe. For people like me, realistically these days my PR has tons more to do with my physical condition, training preparation, breathing and ambition a hell of a lot more than what one of these 250+ dollar super shoes offer. In fact some of these super shoes like the Asics Metaspeed Sky, after 5 or so miles, feel so hard, and stingingly narrow that I drop out, stop and need weeks to let my feet heal/recover let alone PR. So the message is, listen more to what your body is saying and how it feels regarding any shoe than what people are saying "it should be used for". Lastly, my greatest dream in running would be if NB (and other manufacturers) offered their line of mid-sole materials as optional for ANY of their shoe models. If I could take a shoe as well designed as the NB More, and have the option to order this exact same shoe except with the New Balance Fuel Cell midsole instead of the fresh foam (the current fresh foam is excellent but Fuel Cell is my current all time favorite midsole material), that would be a game changer for my whole running game.

Like the Hoka Bondi's, but less expensiveGreat shoes for runners who run a lot of miles and need maximum conditioning. I bought it to try, and rotate it in with my Hoka Bondis. Very similar feel to the Bondis, maybe a bit stiffer, less expensive.

recovery shoeTHis is a shoe that is for long jogs. I am a runner and weight 75 kilos. The Fresh Foam X More V4 has a lot of material in the midsole, and is very cushioned with some response, runners over 85 kilos should use it for marathons and half marathons. It has a lot of protects for your long and short recovery runs, the only thing that doesn't convince me is the lock adjustment tab, but it helps. I am a runner who recovers at a fast pace after overtraining, this helps me move smoothly or long to keep my legs fresh and without pain!

Hands down favorite shoeI've put about 40 miles on these so far but they are hands down my favorite shoe right now. I'm wearing these for nearly every run, and end up wishing I had worn these on days that I don't. I even catch myself daydreaming about my next run because I love these shoes so much! I think they fit true to size and the toe box has plenty of room. They need to work on the tongue but I don't even notice once I'm out the door. 20-25 miles/wk

My fav shoe of all timeI've put in over 200 miles in theses shoes in 2 months and can say these are amazing. Someone mentioned them liking the Nike invincible more than this, funny enough I hate the Nike invincible and thought it was just an awkward ride. It may just work with my stride better, but I will definitely get another few hundred miles in them and probably get a backup pair.

Casual runner who runs half or full marathonsDefinitely looks like it has more cushion then your feeling but over all still a pretty comfortable shoe and a good shoe if your looking to just run and complete distances without taking a pounding to your legs. Definitely wouldn't even think about trying to use it on a race day if your trying to pr or run fast can feel pretty heavy after a few miles but still really enjoy the shoe.

Pleasantly SurprisedThis shoe has simply been a game changer for me. I've historically worn another high stack shoe for recover and long runs and that brand has been sidelined for my new Starter. This is my 1st attempt at wearing NB and I am more than pleased. So far I've run 150 miles in my new besties and they have not let me down. I always give my shoes Nick Names and these are called "Silent Assassin" . Enjoy the Ride!!!V

Good, but not greatI purchased these based on all of the glowing reviews that are pretty much everywhere on the web. I was expecting a soft plush ride. Unfortunately for me these are not as plush as expected. My baseline is Nike Invincible (unfortunately durability isn't great with the Nike's).

NB More 4Obsessed with these! Awesome for recovery/easy runs when your legs need cushion and bounce. They are light, responsive, cushioned, with good traction for wet raining days. They fit true to size for me. I'll certainly buy them again.

Not what I thoughtI like running in max cushion shoes and currently run in the Nike Invincible. They are terrible on wet roads and I was looking for shoe that is cushioned with some grip. I was very disappointed in the cushioning, it felt like I was running in Herman Munster shoes. (Original Series). My feet made a real clopping sound and I did not fell much cushioning, which was surprising give the stack of foam. I really wanted to like this shoe, but just can't get it to work for me. My search for cushioned shoe that has some grip in the wet continues. Good thing I live in Arizona.

great shoeI saw one review, decided to try it. I love it. I am old and slow, but run most days. First shoe I have found that my legs tell me cushion at least as well as the Bondi 7, but feel lighter, faster, and more flexible. My new favorite daily training shoe.

Just too heavyThe foam is great, the responsiveness is great but dang it they're almost 9 ounces for my women's size 7.5 and I'm a small woman. They just seemed like too much shoe. Also, I have a kitchen scale and I'm not proud to admit I actually weighed them - one shoe was .65 heavier than the other. I've read that a little variance is normal and ok but if it's a decent amount it can be detrimental so that sealed the deal and they went back.

V3 is actually BETTER than v4There is something about the new upper that is VERY uncomfortable for me. It feels bulkier and very sloppy in the same size 9 I typically ear in New Balance. The new lacing system with hard plastic eyelets at the very top produce an uncomfortable hotspot if not laced a certain way and the collar feels higher and rubs against the outside of my ankle bone. The squishy, albeit "flat", feeling of the v3 was nice and forgiving but the new fresh foam X, which they claim is softer and bouncier, actually feels more like a firmer ride. The marshmallow soft and comfortable ride is totally gone. If you are looking for a nice soft recovery shoe, go with a discounted pair of the v3!

very different from More 3.....My body weight is 155lbs, land neutral, run hilly trails primarily, 35-50mpw, 51y/o. I've used the More 3 since last October '21. The More 3 simply works perfectly for me except for the moving tongue. The More 4 toe box seems to have decreased in size - both height and width - I feel the first lace eyelets on top of my metatarsals. The medial and lateral sides of the shoe have a plastic feeling internal support which meets a raised cradle aspect of the midsole - the midsole is kind of riding up along the side of my foot. No fun, not needed, over kill. The side of my foot rubs on the side of this raised "support" . The shoe, at the heel, is about an 1/8th wider than the More 3. The heel area and the tongue were all refined - less material at these locations now. Tongue not gusseted/ no strap - tongue moves around - drifts left or right. The midsole in the heel zone is much softer than the 3. Too soft for me - with my water bottle , wallet, phone, key(s), and small pack, I"m at about 165lbs - I feel like I was bottoming out the heels, each heel landing feels like a bottoming out thud. The fore foot density is much firmer than the heel zone. The magic of the More 3 is that I don't feel them when I'm running - the shoe does it's job and I can't notice the shoe!!!! For me, the toe box lace area, the midfoot "sidewalls", and mild heel cup rubbing and a much too soft heel landing muck up the shoe for me. I like the Brooks Caldera midsoles for softness/ plush/ springy (shoes not too fun) for example. I think thinning of the tongue and gusseting/ strapping the tongue with some new shoe colors is all the More 3 needed. The More 4 feels like a much different animal - not much fun. I"m going to keep using the More 3 units for now.

Squishy soft!I really enjoy the new foam that new balance is using. I was a true Hoka fan and they seemed to have drifted away from what I am looking for. Soft cushioning, extra cushion, rocker and smooth uppers. New balance is rocking it. It's a very soft foam, but I don't feel like I am sinking into the shoes. I still have a decent rebound with the V4. The rocker is more enhanced from previous versions of the More. The upper is comfortable and soft. Its a wide base, so I feel stable with all the foam. I have a narrow foot, but the forefoot seems wide. Now I just want to try the New Balance Super Comp Trainer!

New Favorite Max Cushion!I've been a cult following d*e hard HOKA Bondi fan. Obviously, a fan of Max cushion. I don't have any particular foot diagnoses, though my body has been quite taxed for 2 yrs & find these long days leave me with achy, burning feet. So, Max cushion seems to be a good therapeutic remedy. I do work out; power walks of approx 60 minutes on treadmill or outdoors & weight training. I do not engage in other intense cardio or running. I cannot speak to the durability, however, as far as comfort - WOW! This More V4 affords amazing cushion from heel to toe & of course the rocker construction & thick platform allows for what appears to be (have only worn for short periods around the house so far) nice stability & arch support; hugs my feet! Seems like an optimum choice for overall foot, knee & back health. Dare say, even more than HOKA Bondi 7 or 8. I have both this white iteration & the black. I wear an 8 in the HOKA, 8 1/2 in this V4. Width, toebox perfect fit & feel! Hope this is helpful - definitely worth a try for Max cushion wearers!!! Looking forward to the red, soon coming..... :))

JohnnyGreat cushioning and lightweight, but very unstable at the heel. Feels like the heel bottoms out when I run. Too bad, because I think that cushioning and weight are better than the Bondi 8.

Good, then not so muchThis shoe has no break-in period, which is amazing. The shoe was an extreme delight... for the first week. I can't attest anymore for the first 50 (plus a little more) miles for the shoe. It was a 13/10. So good! But, as I suspected, they didn't last. Right after around 100 miles you can easily tell the foundation of the shoe is compromised. The foam didn't last at all! They became tall water-socks, essentially. If NB can make this foam/shoe last 500 miles, I'd be sold for a lifetime.
