Like them but don't love themI was not sold on getting into a pair of shoes with the large stack height but that's the trend right now so it's hard not too. When I tried these on they were easily the most comfortable soft shoe I have stepped in. I used to also only run in very low cushioned shoes. The cons for me are the upper is heavy and warm does not breathe well and the sole has horrible traction when the roads are wet. Lucky there are not often where I live or I would move on. I love running warehouse and have got shoes from them since 2010 but found these on Amazon for under $80s

Nice rideGreat shoes - this is my first pair of this model. Great pop, silky smooth transition, lots of airflow through the upper, durable, nice blend of cushioning - not too firm or soft. Tongue a but short for my liking. And a great price

Squishy and smoothI was surprised by these shoes. They provide a comfortable, smooth, pleasant ride. The TPU plate provides some nice stability and springiness to the ride.

Pleasantly surprised affordable daily trainerI love NB & have multiple iterations of the 880 & 1080. When I saw the Propel V4 on clearance, I decided to try it & have loved it! Can’t believe the cost for the technology - highly recommend

Great post-marathon daily trainerI wore the Propel a handful of times in my marathon build this summer. But now that the marathon is over and my feet are beat up, I am wearing only this shoe and the NB SC Trainer v1. I got some lace bite during the race so the cushy tongue is letting me get back to running while allowing the lace bite to recover. My feet are happy in the Propel this fall.

Positive surpriseMy first NB. Good shoes. Light with the right internal space. It could be better in the heel area, maybe a little higher to protect more in sharp curves.

Can't get enough Fuelcell midsole foam!NB has it right on the lower with the Fuelcell midsole foam. Soft, responsive, and springy. Especially as an every-day trainer. The upper is thick and bulky, likely where the extra weight of the shoe comes in. Minimize the upper a bit and get the shoe under 10 oz and this is a shoe I'll but over and over.

Good, but a little on the heavy sidePicked them up on the $80 sale which is well worth it to add to the rotation. Was hoping they'd feel faster than my Hoka Rincon 3, but I can feel the weight difference. They are more stable and responsive and grip the road very well with all the rubber on the soles. They look and feel like I'll get some high mileage out of them. Overall happy with the purchase because they are a great value.

#1 budget-priced shoeHard to find a good shoe that boasts comfort, durability, versatility, performance and a modest price all in one, but the Propel definitely pegs the meter, with the Brooks Launch a distant second. The Launch was my mainstay for over a decade, but the Propel and its FuelCell secret sauce was a couple d'etat. Formerly, I found cushioning and energy return to be mutually exclusive; ditto for cushioning and durability. FuelCell changed all that for me. The Propel is an excellent all-around workhorse without the sticker shock.

So much cushion and supportI love these shoes! Second pair I’ve owned and this series has been enhanced, I think. The cushion is like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I am on my feet a lot with work and regular exercise (walking, HIIT) and my feet are always supported. With aging feet they are a must have! I wish I knew now what I didn’t know when I was younger about good shoes.

Amazing priced technologyIt is extremely impressive that New Balance has been able to put out shoe with this level of technology at this price. I tried this shoe since descriptions indicated that the plate was less aggressive than in other plated shoes. I thought the cushioning felt great. The issues that I have are me, not the shoe. So far, any plated shoe that I have tried (carbon or other) have caused me pain in my left calf and achilles. I have not figured out why yet, but I suffered the same fate in these. The shoes felt good, but my body would not let them work for me.

Fantastic, but...Have 221 miles on these babies. Very impressive and I find myself reaching for it, often. The FuelCel foam is great. Different than anything I've ever had. I also just recently bought the SuperComp Trainer v2. Honestly, I think I prefer the Propel. I hate the laces, though as they easily bunch up. And the weight is a bit heavy for its class. NB has a winner here.

Super-Budget ShoeThe Propel is in the budget category but acts much like a super shoe. It's quick and snappy. I enjoy using it for 10K, tempo, and other quicker paced runs and it never disappoints!

Propel v4 - Just OkFor me personally, these are just ok. When I see FuelCell with a TPU plate and a good price tag, it reads like the perfect shoe. Perhaps the FuelCell is a different formula or the plate changes the feel, but I don't get that nice soft and bouncy FuelCell feeling. The foam feels dense and mutes that typical FuelCell squish and bounce. The weight is also noticeable. The price is right.

NB Propel V4For me, it's all in the name! This shoe does exactly what the name says...It Propel's you forward as you run. The slight rocker design, TPU plate, and responsive Fuel Cell Foam make for a comfortable and energetic ride. The shoe is great for up-tempo and longer runs alike! Comfy upper and decent laces too. Work on the colorway options and this shoe will easily go from the "Budget Friendly" category to a more highly recognized Daily Trainer. I look forward to every opportunity to put the Propel on foot!

Continued excellenceI fully appreciate the timeliness of Running Warehouse! I always receive my order correctly and safely. Which for me means more road miles. I have logged many miles in my NB propel models with out a single issue. I am an all season runner and these have been reliable for me. Always like the cool colors as well. Went w a black orange pair for this Spring.

I like themI really like these shoes. I got them to be my go-to long run shoe that would be good to roll in a bit. I have done a few recovery runs in them and they feel great. I love the amount of cushion in them. It is enough to feel soft but not so much that I lose responsiveness. They aren't quite as bouncy or propulsive as I thought they would be, but still plenty good. I have also done two long runs about 20 miles each. One of them I did a 10 miles stretch at 5:35-5:22 (about 80% marathon effort) and they felt pretty good at that pace, but not fantastic. So they aren't the quickest shoes by any means, but they provide a great balance of cushion and speed, especially for the price.

Propel V4I am a big fan of New Balance running shoes. I really enjoy running in the New Balance Propel V4. This is a very good daily trainer that I use for long runs, with a great breathable upper, amazing comfort underfoot, and with a great price for the shoe you get, you can't beat it. The only thing that I would change with the next version would be a bit of weight reduction, that would make it five star perfect.

Holy CowFelt compelled to comment and agree with the other reviewers. I’m not sure how New Balance got away with offering such an amazing shoe at an affordable price, but Thank You!! I’ve spent over $200 on several other shoes that I do not like as much as this one.

New Balance, what took you so long?So glad NB is keeping this shoe in the FuelCell lineup in what is arguably among the best - if not the best - all-around neutral shoe available in the $100-110 price range. In fact, it's better than many more expensive shoes. I was afraid the Propel was going to be dropped in the wake of the equally excellent Rebel's evolution into a more all-around shoe. I agree with the other reviewer's opinion that the FuelCell foam is superior to every other "super foam" out there, ZoomX included. It checks all the boxes: comfort, fit, function, durability, feedback and energy return.

Way to set an example NB! Great Ride Low CostAbout time! New Balance for me has been on a home run streak with their products and this is no exception! I am floored this shoe is 110 dollars. NB FuelCell material is my favorite mid-sole material of all the mid-sole materials currently on the market including ZoomX. FuelCell is fantastic! So when I saw a high stack FuelCell model for 110 dollars that in itself speaks for itself. The ride of this shoe is similar to the NB Fuel Cell Trainor but with slightly less pop. Which is exactly what I expected because this model does not have a carbon plate so thats fine. But, it still offers all the great benefits of Fuel Cell in a very well built, high quality shoe that has a very bouncy ride. Easily a marathon plus shoe, great trainer, great recovery shoe, and yes, even a great selection as a marathon day shoe. I have no doubt, this shoe 5 years ago would have been marketed as a premier race day shoe. Lastly, I would reach for this shoe over literally dozens of trainors I have evaluated and many carbon racing shoes (Asics Metaspeed Sky+ for example - AWFUL, would tear up your feet after 13 miles and 140 dollars more expensive). Just blows my mind that this shoe is only 110 dollars! Now comparing it to other NB FuelCell shoes, if I could only pick between one, this shoe or the Fuel Cell Rebel, I would pick the Rebel. But the rebel is one of my all time favorite running shoes ever. Again, I would pick this shoe over a multitude of shoes that do much less that all start at 25 dollars more expensive. GREAT JOB NEW BALANCE!
