Solid shoe so farI received the shoes for Christmas this year and have only put about 15 miles in them so far but enjoying them. They are fit to size and comfortable. The bottom is relatively aggressive and provided good traction in wet conditions on both rock and dirt trails providing adequate support and cushion for a comfortable ride. They have a clean look and style that to them.

Too narrowThis shoe is too narrow. The legs caught every root and rock I encountered and about broke my ankles. Needless to say I returned these shoes. If you’re a wide footed person I would not consider these

Love PeregrinesThis is my 6th pair of Peregrines. Love the fit a cushioning. I always come back to the Peregrine after trying other shoes.

Small and lightThis shoe has an extremely light feel to it, which made me feel that it would not hold up for me. Also found that even a full size larger than usual was significantly too small for me. I have wide feet, but this seemed like a very small shoe.

Not the same Peregrines I've grown to enjoyI've wore Peregrines for about 7-8 years now going back to the 6s. I have the 11s in size 12 and wore them for about 200 miles, including two 30+ Spartan Ultras. I always size up because of my wide toe box. So with the 13s I saw there was a 2E wide, so I got those in 11.5. Well, my heels didn't feel tight in the shoes despite tying the laces in the heel lock. I rolled my right ankle pretty bad too. I just didn't feel connected to the ground like I have with previous versions. I wore them that one time and returned them.

My go-to workhorse technical trail shoe! This new Peregrine is pretty much as close to perfect as any trail shoe I've run in. The last Peregrine I had was the 11, and it was fine, if a little stiff and heavy. The 13 is so much lighter, the upper vastly improved, more flexible, and with more give in the forefoot. The cushioning is the revelation here - it feels so much more forgiving and better cushioned, while still having the gorgeous stability and protection of the rock plate. The traction is improved with the new lug pattern, and it still has the terrific lockdown for super technical trails. I've been running in the Xodus Ultra, which I still love for half marathon and longer trail races due to the incredible comfort of the dual density sole, but this is now my absolute go to daily runner for training runs on the technical, rocky, mountain bike trails in Northwest Arkansas. I've put probably 200 miles on these shoes - and they have been tough, rocky, technical miles, and I cannot believe how well the mid and outsole are wearing. The lugs last WAY longer than the Ultra lugs. These are just true workhorses.

Love HateThese felt amazing out of the box. Took them on a 32 mile very technical trail run on the second go and the held up really well on the rocky terrain, kept me blister free even with a wet feet after a river crossing, and felt amazing all around. But by the 4th use the foam behind the heel had a hole in both shoes. They gave me awful heel blisters as a result. Really disappointed at how quick these broke down. Definitely didn't get the mileage you'd expect.

Great fit but foam split after 5 runsGreat fit, style, color, and traction. However, after my 5th trail run in these, the foam rubber heel section of the tread split lengthwise on both shoes. Seems dry, brittle, with little resilience. I will be sending them back and hoping for a prompt, no hassle remedy from RW.

Peregrine 13----They fit fine and are comfortable but each time I wear them little black spots appear on each show; I didn't run through any mud and the spots won't wash off; so each time they get more spots.

Mountain Running MonsterSome quick thoughts just 27 miles in to this shoe. Perfect stack height for steep technical running of any distance. Not too high where you risk an ankle tear, but more than enough cushion for any distance. (for me; but I lean a tad minimalist as I have run 100s in 25/22mm stack shoes, and even less in my younger days.) Incredibly light, incredible grip even on wet rock and roots; though never trust those 100% with any rubber of course. Outsole shows zero signs of wear so far. The toe bumper is amazing for protection in rocky technical terrain which is 100% of my running. The PU insole really is thick and remains bouncy and cush hour after hour. Very surprised Saucony does not promote the insole at all on their product page. Of course this could be the EVA midsole I'm feeling. Either way it's a perfect balance of soft/responsive for me. Longest run so far was 21 miles, 6 1/2 hours, with >7,000' of elevation change and the midsole felt great the whole time. Less leg fatigue than with my previous mid-stack shoes. Rock plate is not noticeable and seems to do its job. The wides are just wide enough for my forefoot and toes. I normally wear Topo due to wide feet and to avoid rubbing of the outside of my big toe in long runs/races as the feet swell; I think these will be fine but I keep the toeboxes stuffed with the packing paper when not in use to keep them stretched out. I'll find out when I take a super-long one in these. My only criticisms are that I wish the wides came in another color - black is hot in sun of course and heat is never your friend for comfort or risk of blisters. Secondly, I would gladly take a few grams of weight to get a more padded tongue for steep mountain running when you have to clamp the laces down in order to avoid lace bite. Shoe companies spend so much energy on providing comfort to the bottom of the foot, but for downhill running the top can take a lot of abuse as well. That said, the tongue seems just padded enough and no lace bite at all so far. Plan to use these for Grindstone!

YMMVI'm a long time Saucony road shoe user, and I'd imagine many Saucony fans will prefer the Peregrine 13 over the 12. There is more cushion, bigger lugs, more room in the forefoot, a softer upper, lighter. It seems like a better shoe. But I preferred the Peregrine 12. The 12 didn't have a very thick or soft midsole, not a lot of bells and whistles, but (size 11) fit me perfectly, locked my foot in, and was great and confidence inspiring for shorter trail runs on semi technical terrain. My forefoot slide arounds inside the slippery wider Peregrine 13, and the softer upper and maybe shape of the forefoot insole/midsole(?) doesn't give enough lateral support for anything but flat running. I have to crank down on the laces to get the fit I need but even that isn't enough and the laces get uncomfortable. Presumably for weight savings, they minimized the structure in the lower lacing and to me went too far so I can't get enough lockdown. I'll still get some life out of these as gravel and dirt road runners, but that's about it.

Great shoeI use these primarily for hiking and find them to be well made, sturdy and comfortable.

Toe box is too limiting for meToe box a bit narrow and hard for me. Even though the increase in cushion has been well-commented on, the toe box is what limits it for long runs for me.

Great next entry into a great line.Having worn every version of the Peregrine, Saucony seems to have found the right path again. The 13 feels even better than the 12 underfoot. After about 45 miles in them the lugs still feel very tacky. Just finished 15 miles in them on a very wet, semi-technical trail and never slipped even a little. Cushioning feels appropriate. Not a commentary on the Peregrine specifically but my only 'negative feedback' is it feels like Saucony has started going a little bigger and narrower in their sizing. That said, I have worn the 10.5 for several versions without a problem.

Was hoping for betterVery light and agile feeling but on the firm side but not nearly as stable as Cascadias. The fit and lockdown was fine for my average sized foot. I ran 13 miles on mixed terrain including some rocky sections. Towards the end of my run, my legs were more thrashed than usual. I also felt hot spots on my heels and developed a massive blister on the right which is unusual for me. I will try different socks next time. The only other issue was the lugs don't seem durable enough. I noticed some tearing on a couple in the front.

Not my favoriteDidn’t like these shoes, which was surprising after getting recommendations for them from several different people. They didn’t have much cushion, no bounce, over all felt very flat and made my legs feel achy afterward.

Shopped Long and HardThese shoes fit all of my requirements and I am super happy with how they perform on the trails. A 4mm drop is perfect for me, zero drop upsets my Achilles. I am a female but wear men’s shoes for the width (it’s a great trick since not a lot of shoes have wide options and my toes do not like togetherness!) My routine trails are a mix of fire roads and more technical and these shoes offer grip on these surfaces. I also love the flexibility of the sole. my first pair of Sauconys! I have bounced around the more popular trail shoes and never found ones I love, these hit the mark.

Peregrine 13Very pleased with the 13, great feel on uneven ground, nice cushioning, and traction. Fit true to size for me, raced them right out of the box, nice come back from the 12's which had no cushioning for me at all.
