Product Details:

The adidas adizero Adios Pro 3 is a high-level marathon racing shoe designed for top performance. A wider midsole improves stability over the previous model while still being light and efficient. Carbon rods extend the length of the shoe to propel runners forward and the upper has been reengineered to be lighter and more breathable.

 What You’ll Love

  • Energy returning foam
  • Embedded carbon fiber rods
  • Improved stability

The midsole is a double layer of LightstrikePRO foam that cushions landings and provides lightweight energy return. EnergyRods 2.0 are carbon fiber tubes that extend the length of the shoe to improve rigidity and increase propulsion. A pull tab on the heel increases the ease of entry into the shoe. The upper is as light and thin as possible without losing a snug fit and secure lockdown. The adizero Adios Pro 3 continues to build upon the core principles of the first two models and makes incremental changes to maintain an extremely efficient marathon racing shoe.

two major flaws with this shoes.Love the bounce and feel of the shoe. Adidas cut a big chunk of foam on the forefoot of the shoe to save weight making the shoe unstable. When you are running with this shoe you are constantly thinking about how to land the right way because the sole is so uneven.

Responsive yet comfortable and firmEarly review…Got these as a Christmas gift and have never run in this shoe. After a 5 mile speed run, I love them. They have very good bounce without feeling spongy. Firmer ride than the Saucony Endorphin Pro 2/3 that I’ve been running happily in for years. This Adidas shoe is impressive and I’m eager to use it on tempo and even some longer runs as I train for a 1/2 marathon in the coming months.

Nice ride, but the upper doesn't work for meI had heard so many positive reviews for this shoe that I was almost certain it was going to be on my feet at my next race...unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The ride is amazing. It really is fantastic at longer distance race pace. That said, the upper is awful. Digging laces, blisters on both achilles, etc. Maybe version 4 will be better?

Nice shoesThey are tremendous tennis shoes for running both 5km and 42km, good impact on the ground with the tennis shoes and good comfort. I recommend them 100%.

Ben from VTI’ve heard so much positive about this shoe via podcast and various websites. Unfortunately, a lot of the concern people have shared, I’ve experienced. It seems Adidas racing shoes run long? I tried a 9.5 which ran long so I tried a 9 which was snug. The plastic feel of the upper is not pleasant. It cut the inner part of my big toe joint and I needed to stop three times during my first run with them (12 miles) to adjust the laces. They became too unpleasant so I stopped to switch into a more comfortable shoe. The laces have no flexibility, so combined with the stuff and inflexible upper, getting the right fit a challenge. I tried them on wet pavement for my last run and they were slick. The heel lockdown is not secure. While running downhill my ankles felt stressed due to the lack of security. The tongue is floppy and has no padding. This may contribute to some of the pain on top of the foot. How about a gusseted tongue!? As for positives. I tried them two more times. They are quite cushioned and the propulsion is impressive. They aren’t stiff like some other plated shoes. The carbon rods do seem to flex with the metatarsal bones. They feel good running fast. However, after trying them three times and with less than a week before our marathon, the race day shoe choice is still up in the air. All in all, they are a challenge to get the right fit. If you’re willing and understand there is a challenge in getting these shoes to fit, you’ve found a fast, long distance running shoe. You would probably feel much better wearing the Boston’s and get a similar result.

Really wanted them to workThey are light but I wore them on a 20 miler and they caused pain on the top of my foot. I had to return them

very good shoeThis running shoe is very good, they have tremendous cushioning and are very light. The only thing is the sole is very small. But everything else I recommend.

CushyOverall, I like the shoes. Sole is extra cushy. However these shoes squeak loudly. Don’t know if it’s because of the unusual shape of the base but you can hear me coming from far away!

Excellent Shoe with One Small ProblemI have purchased and run in many super shoes over the past 24 months, trying to find the perfect pair. After seeing these shoes on the podium of many major marathons (and the great sale on Running Warehouse) I decided to give them a try. Out of the box, I took them for a 10 mile run with some mile repeats at half-marathon pace. The cushioning and responsiveness were top notch, and they felt light-weight. I did have to stop to re-tie the laces at one point (in Houston, as the feet get saturated with sweat, those ultra thin socks start to slip). I was loving this shoe, and thinking that I'd found my marathon racer. However, when I got home the backs of my Achilles were tore up. Of all the shoes I've tried, this is the first pair that caused any sort of irritation. I've used KT Tape to cover it up when wearing this shoe. It's a solution but annoying. That is the only thing that prevents me from loving this shoe. Fits true to size, seems to be holding up well after 40 miles or so.

Well made racing shoes.Well made as a racing shoe. The cushioning is good and the carbon plate is also ok. However, the laces on the big toe side are too tight, so it hurts when running long distances.

3 star upper 5 star midsoleI’m an experienced runner , 40 years old 6’1” 190 lbs and muscular. My race day pace is 7:30-7:45 marathon pace. other super shoes can be too soft , this is just perfect. Rebound of midsole is fantastic , carbon rods work for me . It is pretty stable but still made for long distance paved runs and excels if not a ton of turns or uneven terrain. Durability is above average in its category; will get 200-300 miles at least (maybe more depending on how hard you are in shoes). Upper is finicky , cannot have too tight or too loose, keeping forefoot loose and middle tighter works for me. It isn’t a dealbreaker at all, still a great shoe. I have to use just the right socks and get the lacing just right . Takes a little practicing before race day to make sure upper and socks figured out .

Faster than Vaporflys for meI am a very light older runner. My technique relies on a fast step per minute and I run a 5k in 20 minutes. I think I do not compress foam in shoes as much as larger runners, and those who have a slower stride cadence, and at the track I documented that the shoes actually were slightly faster than my vaporflys when I ran 200s and 400 meter repeats.

Best fitting supershoe. It’s the business. Pretty darn stable for a max stack super shoe. Incredible roll and pop with an upper that loves you back.

Great missile with a poor upperTried my Pro3 in a Half Marathon, thinking it would be my Boston marathon shoe but ended up with splinters in bother pinky toes and both Achilles. Previous version was fantastic and the upper was spectacular. this one has the looks, responsiveness and weight but heel rub was very bad.

Perfect shoeI've had all the carbon fiber shoes, Nike, Saucony, New Balance etc. This shoe has the perfect amount of foam cushion to firmness that matches your input to to the ground perfectly. The Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% 2 is a little faster shoe, but it doesn't quite have enough cushion in the forefoot. This shoe is fast and very comfortable

InterestingVery interesting shoes. They are definitely springy and make running enjoyable. I would only wear them if you're going to run in a straight direction on pavement however.

a truly long-distance running shoeFirst of all, I want to commend Running Warehouse to be patient with me in the process of finding the better marathon racing shoes. Really exceptional customer service! I am a 152 lbs, 5'10" amateur runner/triathlete. I have a slight tendency to overpronate, therefore I tend to stay away from shoes that are either too soft or too narrow because I have experienced knee injuries. I ran about 60mi with the adidas Adios Pro 3, including a full-distance (hilly) road Marathon. Pros: 1) stable platform, yet comfortable for a full marathon. 2) gently propulsive (around my 8min/mi marathon pace, seems more efficient at faster paces) Cons: 1) I wear a 9US, but the fitting is not great. Lots of extra tongue material needs to be extremely carefully adjusted to avoid hot spots. 8.5US might have been too small due to cons #2. 2) to make things worse, roughest upper I have ever experienced, really sharp edges. I changed the shoe laces to elastic ones to avoid getting cuts around the ankle and more easily adjust on-the-run.

Best Shoe for going fastI'm amazed by this shoe, I decided to give it a try and compare to the Vaporfly 2% and I must say they are better! More space for your toes, same feeling of responsiveness, more comfortable with a great platform. Outstanding for going fast on half or full marathons.

Very Good Marathon Choice!* Overall: - Great shoe, has plenty of bounce, they were smart in putting the carbon plate more in the center of the midsole (as a physicist and engineer, I can could write pages on why putting a carbon plate towards the top of a shoe cancels any benefit of softer material underneath it, you might as well be running in a minimalist track shoe). Ran 10 miles right out of the box, no break in required, very springy and easy on the legs. Breathable upper and the fit is true to size. In comparison with other super shoes, gives as much spring and comfort as the alphafly but does not blob out when running in hot weather. In comparison to the Metaspeed Sky Plus, their is no comparison, the Asics Metaspeed Sky Plus is downright the worst shoe I ran in all year (not just worst super shoe, all shoes AND MOST EXPENSIVE to boot!!) that shoe feels like a block of foam that I duct taped to the bottom of my foot, Viola -> the Metaspeed Sky Plus design in a nutshell! - At 175 (for this color wave) a good time to buy the Adios Pro 3. * Negatives: - Not just this shoe but many other shoes and many other manufacturers, charge sometimes over a hundred dollars more just because of the color choice!? Come on! Really??? I think it looks bad for a shoe manufacturer "rewarding" customers by making them pay a lot of money in the first place and then 30 to 40% more just because a different color wave!!!??? Doesnt speak very well in regards to treating good paying customers right. You start charging 130, 150 250+ for a shoe, give the customer the color they want for the same price! Can you emagine for example paying 15,000 dollars more for a car if you wanted it in red? Well, if the CEO's of shoe companies ran car companies, you would be. - Again, this applies to many shoes and many shoe companies, what is going on with having laces consistantly too short to take advantage of the extra lace hole??? The Addidas Adios Pro 3, like 90% of the 20 shoes I evaluated this year, have laces that are too short to use the extra lace hole. So tying a runners knot with the current laces is impossible. Again, this is just kid stuff->poor quality control and makes me wonder if something basic like shoe lace lenght NOT matching the shoe requirements , then what other items are being overlooked or ignored. Personally, when I buy any shoe, I buy them to use them. I cant understand the "race day only shoe" recommendations at all. Im not going to put a 200 to 250 dollar shoe in the cabinet with my china and only pull them out for special occasions! If I pay that much for a shoe, I am buying them to use them and I expect that kind of price to get me 300+ miles. So, based on the takumi sen 8's that I have been running in all summer long and are a racing flat version of this shoe, I think that the adios pro should make the 300 mile mark.

Great Improvement to previous versionI enjoyed version 2, but Adidas really improved version 3. Its more stable, and feels a bit more soft, but still firmer than a vaporfly - which to me feels too squishy overall. Very bouncy though. And I like the agressively rockered tip - as I get into faster paces it keeps me rolling forward and locked in the rhythm. While it does feel heavier than some options while holding it, I cant feel the difference when running. When holding it, the front feels heavier - which I wonder if it was a design choice. It would make sense to help strike in the sweetspot.

Better than other super shoes I've triedThese don't feel like they flatten out halfway through a long run or race, and they feel a little wider in the toe box than the Alphafly ever felt for me (I'm not super wide but definitely not narrow). I've used these for races and distance track workouts, and they really shine when you pick up the pace.
