Comments: LOVE IT!...have used Gu, Clif Shot, Accel, PowerBar, you name it---this one goes down easier, not too thick and sickly-sweet like some, very easy on the stomach, and true to their claim, you do get a nice steady and lasting dose of energy instead of a sugar rush that is gone in about 10 or 15 minutes. I wonder if the long steady energy is a result of having amino acids; don't understand why they don't market that more, because aminos (if I understand correctly) are basically protein, so this sets the Hammer Gel apart from all other gels except for Accel which I like but am not crazy about their having fructose and sucrose as the 2nd and 3rd ingredients (after water). Hammer has maltodextrin (a long-chain, slow- burning complex carb) listed first, THEN water---much much better! I ordered the Apple Cinnamon after reading so many glowing reviews of that flavor in particular, and was not disappointed in the least. I especially love that this comes in a large bulk-sized bottle: more economical, more environmentally friendly, and more convenient when used with a gel flask for long distances (15 miles plus) when multiple servings are needed. This is my second Hammer product--- have been using their electrolyte pills (Endurolyte) for a couple years, with good results.

Comments: I ordered the chocolate flavor to try a different flavor. Fail -the gel is too thick, so i have to stop and wrench out the gel. i have used hammer's other gels, and like them. but they need to re-work the chocolate.
