Perfect "traditional" tempo trainerHaven't run in the Boston series since the OG Boston Boost (Boston 3 and 4 prior to that), but since I've loved the Adios Pro 4 (AP4) and EVO SL, I figured I'd give these a try. The fit is true to size and more snug than the EVO SL (in a good, supportive manner), most likely due to the gusset/padding on the tongue for a very dialed in fit.
The ride is firm (by today's mushy standards) but not harsh. It feels like a lower, more nimble, planted and traditional ride. You do get some additional pop from the energy rods at speed, but they are not intrusive in any manner and daily paces are not a problem in the 13. I have used it for daily miles, tempo and threshold sessions, and some longer runs (15 miles) without issue. The only space I feel it falls short (for me, at least), is for easy/recovery mileage. I generally prefer something more plush and forgiving (like the Clifton 9 or Ride 18) for recovery days.
5 out 5 for me on this one and I will definitely be picking up a second pair now that a lot of colorways are on sale.
Disagree with sizing comments, great shoe!I wear a 10 in other brands and find this long and wide enough in a 10. I do wear thin socks, which is fine since I find it to have ample cushion and energy return. Some YouTube reviewers give this shoe relatively low marks, saying it is stiff and not as responsive or fun as the many "bouncier", lighter shoes out there. I strongly disagree. The shoe is indeed a more traditional build with lower stack height and a more substantial outsole, but I find this a refreshing change from so many other shoes that just chase the latest trend. One of my favorite shoes so far.
Sizing too small!Like almost all the other reviewers here, I found the size of the Boston 13 to be too small. In my case, it was about a half size too small coming from the previous Boston 12's. I exchanged it for a half size up (8.5) and when I line it up next to my Boston 12's (8.0) they are the same size. I also found the Evo SL to be be a half size smaller than previous Adidas shoes. Maybe the sizing issue is across all Adidas products in 2025?
Evo SL CompetitorBought the Evo SL, returned it after wear issues. This was my next pick as a trainer and its amazing. Grip, comfort, and bounce are good. Just barely enough cushion for 10+ mile road runs and traction is pretty good on the trails too. 200 miles in and expected 300+. Sizing is definitely about -0.25 but I stayed with my normal size and it's worked fine. MUCH BETTER THAN Evo SL for fit and workout feel. Evo SL's felt unstable and wobbly; these are better. You trade the energy return and bounce for a more reliable trainer. Definitely enjoy the the old lightstrike 2 in the heel because it makes it feel more like a trainer than a racing shoe. Rods are unnoticeable, it doesn't feel like a carbon plate, and the stiffness is barely there if at all. The toebox does taper, but this should be expected with all adidas shoes. Excellent buy and would recommend for any runner from beginner to elite.

Sizing issuesBought my normal size of 9.5 and it fit like a 9.25. Immediately sold it and purchased a 10 which was like a 9.75. It's comfortable and toe box roomy but even with the laces locked my heels feel unstable. Prefer the fit on the Boston 12 and Pro over this. Decent shoe but disappointed with sizing
best training shoesI was doubtful at first but I will never regret getting this in exchange of Evo SL. The toe box is perfect, overall comfy not too soft. Kudos to Runningwarehouse too, it so easy to inquire with them and delivery was fast, accurate info to their products.
Solid shoes, but sizing issuesThe shoe appears to be well constructed, however the size ran small. I wear 9.5 in all my Adidas shoes, but the Boston 13 size 9.5 felt like a 9. Adidas needs to inform us of the sizing issues or get the size correct to true fit...

Order a half size upI originally wear a Men’s 10, and ordered that. But the toe box is a little tight, you might want to go a half size up. Other than that show is pretty nice! Comes with a shoe bag!
Improvement over the 12Only one 6 mile run in these, but out of the box these felt great. I've seen reviews where people say this feels similar to the 12, but I disagree. The upper is a huge improvement. The tongue, the heel padding, all of it. I also felt the ride was a big bouncier/softer than the 12. Definitely a great training shoe that someone could easily use for a half or full marathon if they wanted a shoe that wasn't over $200 like most supershoes. Could also be used for some speed work or threshold paces. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I'm unsure how the rubber on the bottom will be in wet conditions compared to the 12 outsole.
