New form factor for old favoriteThe Triumph series has always been Saucony's max stack, plush cruiser. The T23 has stepped this form factor back into plush, daily cruiser. The T23 now competes, and is most similar, to the Ride series. Essentially, the T23 is a 9.2 oz PEBA midsole daily driver with a little more plushness to the upper, while the Ride 18 is a 9.1oz TPU midsole daily driver with a more performance oriented (but still plenty comfortable) upper.
Saucony has given us options on the daily trainer front based on midsole preference, and both can be used for daily miles, recovery runs, to some faster work. The two lines have never been closer in my opinion.
All in all, the T23 is a lighter triumph than in recent years, and handles daily miles, long runs, and recovery runs with aplomb. True to size (9.5 D for me), I look forward to many more miles in the T23, but at this stage (I've only run one 12.5 mile run in the T23) I think I still prefer the underfoot feel of the Ride 18, as it feels more nimble and responsive, but time will tell.
