Comments: These shoes are great! I run on the streets of Chicago mostly, and I love these shoes. If I could I would buy another pair just so I can wear them everyday. These shoes did not hurt my legs. When I wore them the first couple of times without any socks I got a couple of blisters, but that's what you get when you start wearing shoes barefoot. I get blisters from wearing sandals at the beginning of the summer, so I was not very concerned. These shoes are great. I am running right now only about 8-10 miles a week, but I look to pick up some more miles soon. I have had these for about a month and they are doing great.

Comments: The fit and feel of this shoe is great. They perform well in DRY conditions. When running on wet/damp rock, they are like running on ice. The tread compound is so hard that it just slips on the damp rocks. I will be trying out the Merrell Trail Gloves as my next shoe, they seem to have a better tread that would work better on rocks.

Comments: The band across the forefoot squeezes the sides of my feet and cuts off circulation. Not reccomended for wide feet. But they are a great feel everywhere else so they should make a wide version. (Editor's note: this shoe is available in a wide width in the grey/yellow color).

Comments: These are simply awesome. I've run hundreds of km in these on all types of terrain. Fantastic without socks too. I've run a road marathon in them with no problems, and I'll put up with the lack of a rock plate on trails because they are that good. If the next model has some rock protection, they will be the perfect shoe.

Comments: Hello, IM BACK! This is Jesse from Cedar hill back to finish my review (comment second from bottom)! Since my last review I have put about 120 miles on the shoes....id say the best 120 miles of my life! So far there is no visible wear other than the small textural pattern on the bottom of the lugs is starting to go (this does no harm to the performance of the shoe). I have taken
them on on trails ranging from soft dirt and wood chips -to- very rugged and rocky(big two hander rocks to pebble sized), steep decents and ascents. And im pleased to say that it has performed exceptionally well on all! Except for straight dirt descents. Traction great and i only remember slipping once but on loose rock. The first time you hit the trails with these shoes stepping on rocks startle you but dont hurt. After a while its a normal feel, and very rarely do the rocks actually hurt. I have also worn these shoes sockless for every run and have had no problems with smell yet! Oddly enough it still smells brand new! Also the band over the fore foot still has yet to give me any problems and is highly welcomed for higher speeds and downhills. My only gripes with these shoes is grass gets in the shoe easily when running in fields(but rarely do rocks get in), and when finishing a run at a 6 min mile pace on occasion there is a slight pain on the bottoms of my 4th toes from the rubbing on a peculiar stitching at the bottom interior of the shoes. Though this has pain has only happened twice out of the 30+ runs ive been on. other than that i have fallen in love with these shoes, and its a joy to wear them every time!

Comments: I wrote to New Balance to complain about these shoes. Everyone raves about them, but they did not work for me. I gave them a good 300 miles of a tryout just because I really wanted to like them. I wear a size 13-14, and I think that is the biggest problem with this shoe. The way the sole is constructed, there are rubber lugs about the size of a nickel on top of very thin foam. The problem is that as the size goes up, the lugs do not get bigger, but the spacing between them does. With a size 14, I can actually feel the individual lugs when I run. I am a forefoot runner, and there is one lug that pressed right into the ball of my foot because of its placement and the fact that there was no other lug around it. After 15 miles, this lug had dug a huge blister into both of my feet on the forefoot pad, about right in the middle. This happened every time I ran in them. I just could not take it after a while. However, my girfriend runs in them and has no problem. Of course, she does not wear a mens 14. I have compared the soles of both our shoes, and it is blatantly obvious why I have an issue. There is a roughy 2-3 millimeter gap between the lugs on her shoes, and a 5-7 millimeter gap on mine. I switched to some Vivo barefoots for a while and my feet were healed in a week.

Comments: I really like these shoes a lot as they fit perfectly (I wear then without socks usually) and are very comfortable. The sole is plenty grippy but, for the rugged trails in my area, I wish they had some sort of rock plate built in for better foot protection (in which case I'd wear them a lot more often).

Comments: This is probably the best fit of any shoe I have ever worn. They feel even better than Vibram Five Fingers. Note: this is a trail shoe, but it doesn't have any lugs and serves as a great minimalist shoe on the roads too.

Comments: Fantastic! fit and feel, Great on and off road. Have about 150 miles on these 80% on Road and at least 15k on trails per week. Will purchase next pair one half size smaller though for sockless wear. I usually wear a 10 and will need a 9.5 to run sockless without heel rub.

Comments: Background Info: I'm a high school xc and track runner, I'm 5'6" and weigh about 135 lbs, and i have flat feet that are a little on the wide side. I haven't been able to hit the trails yet in these because of my stress fracture which i didn't give enough time to heal. But from the runs i have gotten in these (about 7) in grass and dirt and on hills was great! The fit was amazing, conforming to my foot in nearly every area, except the ankle area which lets in a little dirt or grass every now and then. The traction was great on the grass and dirt. Very responsive and flexible, nice not overly firm midsole. I could definitely see myself cranking at least a 10 mile run out of these. I've only tried them sockless which felt great, and i can't see myself wearing socks in these because it might mess up the perfect fit. The arch bridge was also not a problem as some people have said, and i actually really like it! And the toe spring was also not a problem. Also a midfoot or forefoot strike is easy to make in these.
Pros: light, flexible, great interior, responsive, decent traction, great fit, comfortable, breathable
Cons: ankle collar could be a little more form fitting
These are great shoes that I highly recommend. I can't compare them to any other minmalist shoe as this is my first, but i'm guessing it's a contender. I'll be sure to make a second review when I can take them out on a real trail(with plenty of rocks)!

Comments: AWESOME SHOE!.. though not as good of feel as a vff or Merrell, this shoe is unrivaled in durability, making it a great choice.
