Comments: My first pair of Newtons. Comfortable (no scratchiness problem) but the lugs seem about 0.5-1cm further back than I'm used to running. I've been running on my forefoot for about a year in Inov8 Bare X light (7mm front
7mm heel, no lugs), and the the way the Newton promotes midfoot strike rather than forefoot strike took a slight adjustment. I can't say whether midfoot or forefoot striking is better, I don't know how to judge it. But if you like forefoot running the Newton feels odd.

Comments: This shoe has lots of potential based on its weight and zero drop. But the fit and finish is poor. Honestly it looks and feels like a prototype. The tongue is terrible, the laces are like ropes, the overall materials are just not very polished. Also as others have said the toe box is too narrow. Generally very disappointing. I would not buy this shoe again if they don't improve it.

Comments: I have been running in Newtons for two years.  I have been following the release of this model since it was made public that Newton was going to release a racing flat.  Like the other review has stated, the MV2 is built on a different last and is a much different shoe than any other Newton.  That said, I really like this shoe and have found myself wanting to exclusively train in the shoe.  The first couple runs in the shoes were needed to break the shoe in.  More importantly I needed to decide whether I liked the fit or not.  With the narrower toe box it took some getting used to, but now I love the feel of these shoes.  I have ran multiple races in these shoes including a 10m and half and was really happy with the performance.  With the shoes being zero drop, you need to make sure you have successfully transitioned before building up the miles.I can say that these shoes get better by age.  I have roughly 125 miles logged so far and the shoes are by far the most comfortable pair I own.

Comments: I was very excited when first read about this shoe and decided to purchase it when released. Haven't run that many miles with them but definitely not the same quality as other Newton shoes and a different last (narrower toebox). There are some positives like the 5 lugs and lightness but IMHO this shoe needs improvement in quality (scratchy mesh inside and not properly sewn tongue). Fit could be improved as well, specially with a wider toebox. If i were to pick again a $100 + racing shoe, i would've chosen differently. Price/Quality/Fit wise, there are better options. The Inov 8 X 155 is by far a better shoe in the same category.
