ComfortableMy podiatrist recommended these shoes to me due to foot issues. They are the first shoes I have worn that fit my foot and are comfortable in! I have wide feet, so I had to buy the men's shoes. Worth the money.

Improvement over original VO, cool designI have a pair of the original Via Olympus, and 2 pairs of Via Olympus 2, which are a substantial improvement over the original. The original ones feel a bit unstable because of the stack height. But the strategically placed softer cushioning in version 2 results in greater stability, noticeably less feeling like you’re gonna tip over. Also, the black version with neon green soles look really cool. Actually, the all black version looks really cool too. (I have both). All in all, I highly recommend the Via Olympus 2. I wear them for brisk walking and everyday use.

The best sneakers to wear when recoveringI was recovering from three broken bones in my foot and some torn tendons. I wore a boot for quite some time while I was healing. I could not fit a regular sneaker or shoe on my foot. My ALTRA Sneakers were very wide in the toe area, which made my foot feel very comfortable. The lift in the back by my heel took the pressure off of the bones that were healing. They are extremely comfortable and it's all I wear. I bought three pair. The colors are very fashionable and I will not go back to wear any other brand. I highly recommend them and am extremely satisfied and pleased.

Cozy cruiser that makes zero drop easyThis is a good recovery day/easy miles option, particularly for those looking for a roomy toe box, slightly wide midfoot, mild stability elements (wide base and mild sidewalls), and a compliant but not overly mushy midsole. As a mid/forefoot striker, the stiff platform and forefoot rocker made the transition from 4-6mm drop shoes to this zero drop barely noticeable (it may be more dramatic for heel strikers though). The upper lockdown is great. However, it's not very breathable and can take a day to dry out during the summer.

Perfect for a bigger runnerAs a bigger runner (230) I tend to lean to a more max cushioned shoe. Problems I have had in the past is that a lot of other max cushioned shoes die out really fast. These have been awesome. My first pair lasted me nearly 400 miles and my second pair is holding up just as well. Perfect for easy miles and recovery runs.

Acceptable, but not greatThis is my first pair of Altra shoes. Their anatomic shape and zero drop are very pleasing and comfortable, and is immediately noticeable as soon as they're put on. In that respect, they're very good, but there are enough other issues that stop them from being good. Firstly, the ball of the heel is very deep with respect to the top of the Achilles heel area, which results in a lot of rubbing on the Achilles heel area. This not surprisingly results in very quick wearing of holes through the material and foam behind it (they're basically unwearable after less than 100 miles). Despite the very tall cushion stack, these don't feel as forgiving on impact as many of its competitors. While this may be good for those trying for fast running performance, it's not so great for people like me who have joint issues and use these for walking or hiking. If this shoe were more durable, I'd probably buy another pair once these wear out, but the problems just aren't worth it.

So comfortable! This was my first purchase of Altra shoes and they have not disappointed. It takes some getting used to having my foot sit back in the heel but that has greatly helped with some metatarsal pain I was having and it was my whole reason for buying these. From day 1, I could walk all day and haven’t had any pain. I like the color and they go with a lot. Very happy!

Altra VIA Olympus 2 is my new favorite shoeMy podiatrist diagnosed me with a stress fracture in my right foot and sent me off with a list of shoes he recommended to help me heal and prevent new fractures. I tried Brooks Ghost Max and Hoka Bondi, but as soon as I put on the Altra Olympus, I knew I’d found my new favorite shoe. The arch support is perfect for me, and the toebox is extremely roomy. No shoe is right for everyone, but these shoes are right for me!

Very comfortableAltras are my go-to shoe anytime. This extra cushioning makes them the ideal show for walking, standing on a hard surface, or just going to the grocery store. I highly recommend them.

Super comfy.I have bad feet with multiple issues and though I think these shoes are ugly and have an old person vibe, they’re definitely very comfortable for being on your feet or long walks.

Good shoe but not for meExcellent Altra fit with wonderful toe room. Orthodics fit well. The shoe has ultra padding and that is just not for me. I would recommend to anyone wanting a padded shoe who’s looking for generous toe room. The only criticism I would warn about is that the shoe is very warm so be prepared if you run in the sunny south.

Great work horse shoeI really like this shoe. I had always run in the torrin, and now the olympus is even better still has a wide toe box but has alittle more cushion.

Best Long Run Shoe EverBest fit for my slightly wider than average feet. It was stiff at first, but after 30 miles it flexed with my feet. The cushioning was soft with a slight bounce and they felt very comfortable over 15 mile long runs. I have used it for all my marathon training long runs and haven’t had any problems. They are more stable than the Torin 7’s and I could put a little of marathon pace in my runs with them. After a 100 miles they feel more like an extension to my feet with plenty of protection. These are true to size where the first version I had to size up.

10 miles in, stable, comfortablePicked these up and immediately took them out for a ten mile run. Initially thought they felt sluggish (compared to paradigm 6) but far more plush. Sluggishness went away and I was surprised at how comfortable they made the run on asphalt. A but heavy, a bit sluggish, but a great daily trainer for non-tempo days.

SupportiveThese shoes are very supportive and light. They are comparable to the HOKA Bondi but much better, in my opinion.
