- Low: Low-cut socks go no higher than the middle of the anklebone. No-show socks, which do not go higher than the top of your shoes, are also in this category.
- Quarter: Quarter socks are higher than low-cut socks and usually cover the anklebone entirely. This provides a feeling of stability in the ankle, and alleviates most blistering that could be caused when low-cut socks creep down and expose the skin on the back of the heel.

Balega prevents BLISTERSBalega Blister Resist socks are my go to socks for running to prevent blisters! Been wearing them for over a decade. These socks last for years! They look thick but I promise they are not hot on the feet. I have super sweaty feet and these are the only socks I wear running. From short runs to marathons these are the ticket!

Bye bye blistersI have used these primarily in my trail shoes. The bottom half is a thicker material. Top half is thin. They do run warm, and I have no idea how they will do in a river crossing. But, they have helped me avoid blisters.
