All Women's Road Shoes

  • Daily TrainersDaily Trainers

As the broad base of the running shoe pyramid, daily trainers are the definition of a go-to running shoe. They prioritize dependable comfort, support, durability, and routine versatility. They're a staple in every runner's closet. If you're newer to running shoes, you can confidently start your journey here.

  • Performance TrainersPerformance Trainers

Performance trainers (or "super trainers") blend elements of daily trainers and super shoes, often giving you the benefits of advanced foams and plates, but adapted for daily training. They make fast runs faster and long runs easier. Highly versatile, many are also great choices as accessible racing shoes.

  • Race Super ShoesRace Super Shoes

The pinnacle of the pyramid, super shoes are the fastest running shoes you can buy. They're designed to race your absolute best and are the apex of running shoe technology and innovation. Often built with carbon-fiber plates and cutting-edge superfoams for the highest energy return, they're made for ultimate racing speed.

Women's Running Shoes by Surface

  • Roads & PavementRoads & Pavement

Road running shoes feature smooth outsoles that are designed for running on paved surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, and bike paths.

  • Smooth Trails & FireroadsSmooth Trails & Fireroads

Designed to handle most trail runs, these shoes prioritize comfort and a smooth ride. These shoes are great for anything from smooth singletrack, park trails, and fireroads making them ideal for those who run from their doorstep on streets before hitting the trail.

  • Rocky & Technical TrailsRocky & Technical Trails

These shoes are best used for hard, rugged trails such as shale, granite or sandstone where grip on smooth surfaces and underfoot protection are important.

  • Soft & Muddy TrailsSoft & Muddy Trails

Designed for use in muddy, soggy conditions, these shoes feature very aggressive outsoles that dig deep into soft ground for exceptional traction.

  • Snowy & Icy TrailsSnowy & Icy Trails

These shoes feature technical outsoles designed to grip snowy and icy trails making them ideal for winter trail running.

Stability Level

  • Neutral Running Shoes

Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have built-in technology to correct movement.

  • Stability Running Shoes

Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.

Product Highlights:

With even more nitro-infused foam than before, the Brooks Glycerin 21 returns to deliver an ultra-comfortable and smooth ride for any distance.

In this update, the Glycerin 21 adds 2mm more plush and responsive DNA Loft v3 foam into the midsole, offering a little extra softness to a shoe that's already plenty soft. As a cherry on top, the additional cushioning does not come at the expense of extra weight. On the contrary, the Glycerin 21 weighs almost an ounce less than the previous model!

Bringing long-lasting traction to the party is the new RoadTack rubber that is strategically placed in the outsole to deliver the grip needed to rack up the miles. This shoe is rounded out with a new engineered warp knit upper that checks the boxes of being accommodating, secure, and breathable, which only adds to the supreme comfort the Glycerin brings to the table.

Running farther has been made easier than ever thanks to the Brooks Glycerin 21––all you have to do is enjoy the ride.

How We Measure Our Shoe Specs

  • We measure every shoe in-house to provide accurate and consistent details.

  • Weight

Weight is measured per single shoe, including laces. Men's and unisex styles are based on a men's size 9, and women's styles are based on a women's size 8.

  • Heel Stack

The heel stack refers to how high your heel sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Forefoot Stack

Forefoot stack refers to how high the ball of the foot sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Heel-toe Offset

Heel-toe offset (drop) is the difference in height between the heel stack and the forefoot stack. We use the number given to us by the brand.

How We Measure Shoe Fit

  • All measurements are based on Medium width. Note: fit is relative to the "average" running shoe.

  • We partner with SmartLast, a program by Heeluxe, to use advanced shoe-measuring technology, to provide objective measurements for toe box, midfoot, and heel widths as well as overall length.

Stack Height

  • MinimalMinimal

14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.

  • LowLow

19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.

  • MediumMedium

24-28mm. These shoes have a stack height that falls near the middle of the spectrum. The shoes in this category are versatile and great for all types of runs and distances.

  • HighHigh

29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.

  • MaximalMaximal

35mm plus. The shoe has an extremely thick midsole and extra cushioning. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel.

Wifey Love themBought these for my wife. She was a Hoka Clifton gal, but wanted a more durable option. These worked out perfect so far. A little more weight but she isn't really a runner, more of a speed walker. So win, win. Thanks for the great service at RW. Best in the biz

Brooks always deliversThese were a gift to my girlfriend. She’s new to running and she wanted a highly cushioned shoe. She’s only tried 3 other running shoes from different brands so far. She went on her first run with the Glycerin last week. She’s enjoying the shoes so much until she told me to get another backup pair for her birthday next year lol. I guess it’s safe to say that she’s now a big fan of Brooks!

Glycerine 21It has high cushion and perfect for daily running! Not heavy and pretty breathable. I got wide but i wish they had more color options for wide. Design and color is far less pretty than other brands.

Brooks 21Shoe is heavy. Good for a walk but feels like a lot to carry on the feet. I would not buy again.

Great ShoeReally nice shoe. Very comfortable and good support. Not heavy either. Shoes with good support and lots of weight drive me crazy. Can hit some of my steady pace (6:00/mi) work in them as well. Big fan

Great feel and cushionngI rarely switch shoes or models once I find one that I really like, but I had developed a dull ache in my ankles and feet that I just couldn't shake. I did some research on shoes that were similar to my previous model, but with a bit more cushioning. I was a little bit concerned with heavier shoes, but this model is absolutely terrific! If I occasionally switch on and off between this model and my previous shoe, the difference in discomfort is immediately noticeable. I am sure that I will be stocking up on the Glycerin shoes with future orders!

Great Comfort, but......Brooks have for many years has been my go to. The Glycerin 19 I put over 800 miles on a pair, the 20 I put over 900 miles on a pair and their was still total rubber on the sole. The 21's in my opinion were a step up in comfort but wore out extremely fast. The first I got lasted to 400 miles, the second pair is toast at 300 miles. The 21's are great comfort but wear out very quickly.

Best shoes ever!I have worn this shoe for decades, yes I have tried others. Don’t know why I did as they were always failures. I always end up coming back to these fabulous shoes. I really love the fit of the newest model as they returned to the one they had a few years ago. I like a shoe with a wider square toe box and the cushion in these shoes are perfect!

The right kind of squishy for a big runnerTo give a reference point , I’m 6’4” and 310lbs. My runs are normally 2-3 miles with anywhere from 11:02 to over 13:00 minute pace depending on what kind of run it is. These have just the right amount of give, doesn’t feel like it’s sapping your energy but also doesn’t feel like your shoe is bouncing against you. Definitely my new favorite shoe, been wearing Brooks for years and have run in Hoka, Adidas, Nike, Saucony, Asics, NB, and Mizuno; keep coming back to Brooks and these are the best they’ve made for me.

Comfortable from the beginningRecently I needed a new pair of shoes. I went to Run-n-Tri in Gulfport, MS to a computerized fitting. After my firing I tried on the Glycerin and found it to be very comfortable. My heel was being held in place. As I walk the bottom of my foot receives a gel-like feeling that makes it an enjoyable experience. I am very pleased with my purchase.
