From handy stash pockets to high-quality, durable fabric, Odlo's Axalp Trail Half Zip Short Sleeve Tee is designed to be your ultimate, lightweight companion when hitting the trail. The shirt features stretchy mesh fabric with body-mapped ventilation, 20+ UPF UV protection, and reflective detailing to keep you visible on your outdoor runs. The Axalp Half Zip is constructed with Odlo's ZeroScent odor-control technology for longer-lasting freshness and Chill-Tec active cooling to keep you well ventilated and dry. Overall, our tester enjoyed the shirt's sleek, stylish fit, which paired well with a hydration vest, and the back pockets for convenient storage of nutritional gels.
Features & Style
David: "This trail shirt offers a lot of great features to make running on the trails more enjoyable. First off, it uses quick-drying and cooling fabric to wick sweat and keep you dry for longer. Body-mapped ventilation has been strategically placed in high-heat areas to ensure plenty of airflow. Additionally, there are two small stash pockets on either side of the shirt's back, ideal for carrying a handful of gels or small essentials. Lastly, the half-zip design allows for a nifty way to increase airflow during warm weather. I wish there were some better color options, but the fit and fabric still offer a stylish design."
Comfort & Fit
David: "As a tall and lean runner, this shirt fits me perfectly. It features a sleek, narrow frame with a slightly longer torso for extra coverage, but it might be too snug for larger runners. The stretch mesh fabric provides a barely-there feel for comfort throughout your miles. The breathable mesh panels and half-zip work especially well for warm-weather runs where your body needs additional airflow and ventilation to stay cool and dry. My only issue regarding the comfort of this tee is with the zipper. When wearing it unzipped, the sharper edges irritated my neck."
Quality & Value
David: "This running shirt is high quality and fits very comfortably. Additionally, the fabric is lightweight without compromising durability. The price is a bit high for a trail tee, but I appreciated the additional features and quality of performance."

The fabric, quality, and fit of this trail tee are top-notch. The material is lightweight and breathable but also durable. The cut is sleek and long, so it's perfect for my tall and lean torso but may not be ideal for larger runners. I found the sleek fit to work especially well under a hydration vest because it doesn't bunch up. This trail shirt features added benefits like stash pockets for gels and a neck zipper for extra ventilation. My only issue is with the neck zipper. I appreciated the extra airflow when it was unzipped during warm-weather runs, but the sharp material at the top caused some neck irritation. Overall, it's a solid running shirt with extra features that meets the needs of most trail runners, but there is some room for improvement, especially considering the higher price point. |
