Works great on Salomon X Ultra trail shoes!I have owned couple pairs of Salomon X Ultra trail shoes. I had never needed to use replacement Quicklaces on the first pair. The shoes wore out before the laces did. When I eventually replaced that pair with new ones one of the lace tighteners broke the first time I put the shoes on. Since these new shoes had been sitting in my closet for over a year the warranty had long since expired. Major bummer! Luckily I found these replacement Quicklaces on-line. I also watched several Youtube vids before I made the replacement. I suggest this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=828aPRCBT68. It shows the newest replacement kit. The one sold here at Running Warehouse. I found the process fairly easy. I did used a second set of hands to thread the laces through the line tightener while I depressed the friction tab. I also used pliers to tighten the knots as shown in the video. The hardest part was getting the knot to seat inside the male half of the coupler. I had to maneuver the knot such that the smallest diameter portion just fit into the opening and then I pulled it home.
This is the best place to buy this kit. If sourced directly from Salomon they charge as much for shipping as the kit costs!
