A Must for Any Salomon PackI’d been trying to get by with an old reservoir from my Nathan pack, but I finally gave in and bought the Salomon 2L soft reservoir—and I’m glad I did.
You can use other non-Salomon reservoirs with their packs, but they don’t fit well and tend to get crammed in awkwardly. This one fits perfectly. It’s more narrow and streamlined than others I’ve used, which helps it sit better in the pack with less bounce. I also appreciated that it didn’t have that plasticky taste Hydrapak-style bladders usually have for the first few runs—the water tasted clean right away.
The only thing I don’t love is that you have to fish the hose through your pack’s routing system, but that’s just how these are designed. Minor annoyance for an otherwise excellent reservoir.
Honestly, I don’t know why Salomon doesn’t just include it with their packs, but if you’re on the fence, it’s worth getting.

Slow leakReservoir seems to hold water well, but slowly leaks from the area where the hose attaches. I normally use it with the Salomon adv skin 12 pack and have found it ends up leaking just enough to cause lower back area of pack to be wet but not enough to lose a lot of water while running. I tested it just laying it on the counter and it seems to leak slowly overnight as well. (initially thought the pack compressing might cause leaking).

It still fits with ADV Skin 5Solomon recommends 1.5 L for Skin 5 but of stock most places and needed to expand hydration in a pinch so running warehouse had the 2 L in stock. shipped fast and arrived quick as usual. Didn’t have any issues with fitment and works as described. Would recommend.
