Product Details:

After establishing itself as one of the best marathon racing options on the market for the past several years, the Saucony Endorphin Pro series is showing no signs of slowing down with the introduction of its 4th iteration. The Endorphin Pro 4 keeps everything runners love about the series while making upgrades in key areas to elevate its performance even more.

The biggest upgrade seen in the Endorphin Pro 4 is the addition of PWRRUN HG cushioning in the top layer of the midsole. This highly responsive and lightweight superfoam compound is also found in Saucony's pinnacle race day shoe, the Endorphin Elite, and helps to deliver an even more energetic underfoot experience. The layer of PWRRUN HG sits within a carrier of PWRRUN PB superfoam cushioning that helps to stabilize the HG and add durability. Meanwhile, a carbon plate is embedded between the two layers of foam, working in conjunction with the SPEEDROLL geometry to deliver silky smooth transitions and a highly efficient ride from start to finish.

In the outsole, the lattice designed rubber in the forefoot is combined with strategic rubber placements in the heel. This assures a low overall weight for the shoe without losing the traction needed for fast turns. The Endorphin Pro 4 is wrapped up with a minimal yet secure upper that's refined with small but noticeable improvements throughout. In particular, the integrated tongue not only offers a more streamlined fit, but also delivers extreme comfort and an amazing lockdown.

All in all, the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 represents another leap forward for the brand and looks to cement itself as one of the best marathon racing shoes money can buy.

Lightweight shoeGreat lightweight shoe! Comfortable at varying speeds of running. However, a couple of things to note, there is not really any arch support in this shoe. Additionally, the insole almost seems too narrow, whereas if you have a thin pair of socks on, you can feel where it ends on each side. If you do not have very high arches and wear a thick sock, this is a great shoe for you.

Wonderful shoeFirst time buying a more expensive "super" type shoe like this. Really cannot say enough good things. Impact on body is almost none. Running feels effortless. Can spend more time training and less time dealing with small injuries. Worth every penny

Not your typical reviewMy oldest son runs ultras and has for years now (does really well, usually at least top 10). He started running many years ago, his first race at a 5K turkey trot I encouraged him to run, so every year on his birthday I send him running shoes, usually Saucony because he really likes them and they are great for 100 mi races.

Not as bouncySoft and comfortable! I went up a size because my toes had some bruising and it was way too big so my ankles hurt after a test run. I prefer the Pro3s over this model. This pair did not have as much bounce as the 3s.

Great first super shoeI have forgone super shoes until now as I usually use a stability shoe and also generally disagreed with the concept. But the Endorphin Pro 4 definitely gives the best stability and I have used it, in my shoe rotation, without any injuries or issues. Also, it is now to the point where all other racers are using plated shoes that I was doing myself a disservice in getting into Boston without them. I cannot recommend them enough. These feel great and are not too "aggressive" as I have read in reviews about other shoes. Have not worn other plated shoes, so not sure what the aggressive exactly means or feels like but these feel like a normal shoe with a good send-off, if you will, from the plate. I went up a half size, switched in a pair of laces from an old pair of shoes and have had no issues at all. Highly recommend and will only be using these or the Endorphin Elites in the future once I try those. Also really loved the Running Warehouse 90 days return, did not need to use it, but gave me the confidence to try them out.

very responsive and a good fitI'll start by saying that I have limited experience with carbon-plated shoes. Namely, New Balance Elite (v2, v3, v4) and this one, the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 (EP4). I loved the NB Elite v2 and bought two pair. NB made nice improvements to the soles and ride in v3 and v4, but the uppers didn't work for me, so I decided to check out the Saucony EP4. The Saucony EP4 is a keeper. I've only taken them on 3 runs so far, ranging from 9 to 16 miles and a mix of easy runs and speed work. For me, these are very comfortable and fast shoes. The EP4 is not the most cushioned shoe out there, which has its pros and cons. They are very responsive, and the transition/turnover to the next stride seems faster than in the NB Elites. For better or worse, I feel the road more. Whereas the NB Elites feel a bit like running on trampolines, the EP4 feels more like running on a treadmill. A fast treadmill. The upper is very breathable and comfortable. Like almost every shoe I've ever owned, I get good heel lockdown without having to use a runner's loop knot. It runs true to size and has good room in the toe box. So far I like the sock liner, in which the tongue is not a separate flap, but completely integrated with the rest of the upper. For the lacing the shoe has fabric loops instead of traditional eyelets. I tend to lace tightly and I worry a bit that one of the fabric loops will tear out one day, so fingers crossed. I look forward to wearing these in my April 2025 marathon, and certainly other races after that.

Beautiful feelingBouncy enough, hard enough, and very light and comfortable You would feel the bounce in the beginning of your run then it disappears as you go beyond the second mile, I could run long distance in these shoes, they are very comfortable for racing shoes Saucony really mastered the formula on this one

2’s were good, 3’s were really good, 4’Even better. Feels like you’re running on clouds; running economy feels top-notch. The shoe line got more plush without the sacrifice of speed each new addition. I was really worried and didn’t think the 3’s could be improved. Boy was I wrong! Saucony will always be my #1 option for a trainer. Keep it up Saucony!!

Underrated ShoeI was able to beat my PR for a half marathon a few days ago, and while being semi-recovered from an injury prior to the race. I’m normally a die-hard Asics girlie but took a chance on these after watching a review by Kofuzi. These shoes are very comfortable but I did size up from my normal half size up for running shoes (women’s size 8 for all shoes, 8.5 for running shoes, 9 for these endorphins) and that seemed to be the best fit for me to run comfortably. I would also like to point out that the race was a predominantly downhill race (Vegas Marathon) and at one point it rained. These shoes provided the grip and traction I needed to run safely. Overall, good shoes. I feel like there could be more security for the ankles, but other than that, no complaints.

A fun race shoeOver the last few years I have raced in each version of the Endorphin pro, and this is my favorite to date. It fit similar to previous models, though I found I need to do heel lock tie on this version as the upper seems a bit softer/more flexible and I needed a little more secure lacing. Nice and snappy/responsive while running.

Marathon PR shoes!Love the saucony pro4, more cushion than the pro3 and feels faster. I just got a 14min PR in Chicago with these and couldn’t be happier. Feet felt fast and springy this my second pair, these can get 300mi racing or 350-400 training and more if you keep them strictly on the track. The soft foam does get chewed up on the pavement as do all soft foam racing shoes nothing.

Solid race shoe optilnFull disclosure I purchased and later returned this shoe, but only because I was comparing race shoes and went with the NB SC Elite v4 in the end. I took this shoe on about 20 miles worth of test workouts, it was very comfortable but still great at picking up the pace. The lockdown was excellent though it almost ran a bit long for me in the forefoot even accounting for foot swell. Breathability was stellar. I went with the Elite because it was a more cushioned comfortable ride for a mediocre distance runner like myself, but had a great experience testing the Pro 4 and if it ever went on sale wouldn’t hesitate to buy as a workout shoe.

Worth TryingI'm a longtime runner who tried Saucony two years ago with their Endorphin Speed 3. It was the perfect foam and fit for me over my NB and Nike shoes. I now run in the ES4 but decided to try the "Pro" version on a treadmill first, then on a track. Even for this older 10-11 minute miler, I can see the benefit of its design and the mixed foam is indeed a worthwhile upgrade. Highly recommend!

All around winnerThese shoes will happily pick up the pace for a 5k, marathon, or comfortable cruise on an easier long run. They are bouncy and responsive but smooth to turnover as you run. Just finished a marathon and 5k race, was happy to have these shoes in both cases. Its lightweight, looks good, and performs well, so overall a solid all around winner of a shoe.

Great First carbon plated shoeRan my second marathon this past weekend and my first in a carbon plated shoe. This shoe felt really comfortable the whole race and felt like my legs were in great shape crossing the line. new to carbon shoesThese were my first time using carbon plated running shoes and I ended up returning them after one run. I think I got the wrong size and my toes were bunching up at the front. I also didn't really notice any extra pop or speed compared to my old Asics Novablast 3s so I didn't see a reason to keep them or get a bigger size. These shoes might be amazing if I got the correct size and ran with them in fresher legs but I didn't have them long enough to find out. Another nitpick I had was with the sock-like fit. I didn't really care for the tongue situation and sortof felt like the laces weren't doing anything.

Ruined my favorite shoeSaucony decided to use a cheap glued-in insole for 4 and ruined the shoe for me. I wear orthotics and need a removable insole. If you've ever tried to tear out a glued-in insole, you know you're left with exposed glue that sticks to the orthotics. Plus you need to find a suitable replacement insole. So, I returned the shoes. It never ceases to amaze how easy it is for companies to make a change that is a step backwards.

Great Race ShoeThese shoes make me feel speedy! The sock liner is very comfortable. The shoe propels you forward and gives you bounce. The best thing about these (and other high-tech race shoes) is that I feel that I recover faster from hard efforts in them.

Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 reviewI ended up purchasing these with a credit as the endorphin pro 3's I ordered on clearance were 2 different sizes! The fit is accurate to normal sizing the toe box is not too roomy but provides more comfort/spacethan the pro 3's. The shoe is very comfortable and runs nicely at both easy and faster paces, the feel stiffens at faster paces and feels bouncy at easier paces. I ran with these in a half marathon and the time/speed was nice considering the expectations based on fitness - first super shoe raced and was faster than previous trainers used. Will definitely be using for upcoming marathon.

Accessible carbon racerContext- I owned and used the EP3 until the outsole was shredded. I really enjoy this version of the EP. The foam feels soft from heel to forefoot. At times it can feel a little squirrelly if you’re landing heavy on your heel. The faster you run, the more you can feel the carbon plate responsiveness. It feels like a very natural carbon racer (or as natural as that can feel), it doesn’t feel overly mechanical. The laces are too stretchy, I have to crank down on them at the start of a run or else my shins start to feel incredibly uncomfortable. Not sure why that caused it, but the fix was tying them wicked tight.

Loyalty to Saucony is waningI’ve been running in Saucony for years and typically love the fit. I feel the sneakers are getting narrower and my feet are pushing through the sides. I loved the Endorphin Pro 2 but the 4 has less bounce and the fit is snug. May be time for a change of brand?! Running warehouse is the best though. So efficient, great selection, and competitive pricing.

Great carbon shoeI fell in love with the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 carbon shoe from the moment I ran my first mile in them! I noticed the energy return right away and my legs felt much less tired after my workout so that is a huge plus. I do not consider myself a speedy runner (10:15 marathon pace) but I feel even middle of the pack racers like me can still receive benefit from this super shoe. After running my last marathon in them, however, I am starting to feel like this shoe may be better suited for Half marathon distance and shorter as the bottoms of my feet really hurt afterwards, assuming because of the stiffness of the carbon sole. The other "pro tip" I would suggest is that if you have a bunion (like I do) you may be forced to "customize" this shoe to accommodate it, by that I mean, cut this $200 shoe in the specific area you need in order to release the pressure. I hated doing that, but it made them wearable for me as I enjoy the rest of the shoe so much. I wish Saucony (and every other brand) would come out with sneakers for people who do not have average or narrow feet but still want high performance. I think that is a market which is very much overlooked by the shoe industry as a whole when creating high performance sneakers - Wides are relegated to the ugliest colors and generally only shoes with support - not high performance. Very few offer any options for someone in my situation. I didn't give up though, so I took matters into my own hands and made my adjustments! The good news is that even cutting a hole did not affect the integrity of the Saucony Pro 4 (only broke my heart LOL) so I am pleased about that.

Good Option for a Carbon-Fiber Plated RacerI've worn the previous version of the Endorphin Pro before, so thought it was time to try the latest update. Overall, I'd say they're pretty good. They fit true to size and I had no issues with the toe box or any rubbing from the upper. Compared to the Endorphin Speed, they definitely feel bouncier and lighter. In my opinion, they aren't *quite* as bouncy and fast as the Nike Vaporfly/Alphafly, but they are also a little more budget friendly than those shoes. Overall, I'd say they're a good shoe but I'm not blown away.

Highly recommendedI bought these shoes the week of my last marathon. I put about 5 miles on them before race day, but had zero issues. So here is the review: -Upper: Feels great, breathable, no heel slippage. Its a booty style upper. The “tongue” is long but folds down easily. The laces are the only “negative” for me as I found them too stretchy. I swapped them with some Metaspeed laces I had and they were perfect. The Cavern colorway is just ok to me, but it was the only option in my size. -Midsole-not as firm as V2, a bit firmer than V3. Its the goldilocks in my opinion. The sockliner felt great, the pop is there but its not as aggressive as some super shoes. I found the shoe quite stable for a super shoe. -outsole-does the job, not sure how it would perform in the wet. I have 30+ miles on them with very minimal wear. This shoe comes highly recommended by me for anything from 5k to 42k.

Great shoe, but still achilles blistersNormally I wear a size 10 in most all brands of running shoes. I listened to advice and sized up half a size. Cushion and rebound is phenomenal. The shoe fluidly rocks the foot from stride to stride. My legs stayed fresh on runs over ten miles. Unfortunately, the heel collar continues to cause an achilles blister. I tried more padded socks, anti-chaf rub, and even bought a half a size smaller. The heel collar continues to rub causing a blister, preventing me from taking the shoe on longer runs, or really experiencing the shoe.

Not for this Big Boi RunnerI'm 230lbs and the Pro 3 is my go to race shoe due to its soft springy feel. The issue with the Pro 4 is the PB foam bottoms out so fast all I feel is the rock solid HG foam and get zero spring. Take out the HG foam and this shoe is likely perfect. Until then stick with the 3 if you can get it.

Saucony endorphin pro4For some reason the Saucony shoes don't work well for me..the midsole is not as cushioned as it needs to be and something is not quite right with the last cos they always crowd the outside of my feet but plenty of room on the inside..the upper are comfortable and fit well and the quality is very good..this pro4 is the best of them so far and I can use them by changing out the insoles to the old endorphin line insoles..by putting a Adidas adios insole under the endorphin pro2 insole I get a nice bounce and comfortable ride..these are just my feet so I say to try them to see if they work for you..

Really fun shoeI can see where there may be some differing of opinion with this shoe. Compared to the Pro 3’s there was a more comfortable fit. It does feel like there is more width in the forefoot. The shoe fits like a Speed 3 wide for me. Personally, I really enjoyed the more comfortable fit and feel like the pop is still there like it was in the Pro 3. It will be a very comfortable marathon shoe.

My first carbon plateMy first carbon plate running shoe. I did two trainings of 20k each. It felt so good and responsive. I find it difficult yet to evaluate benefits. I will run an Ironman on them in two weeks! It is true to the size. Im a Saucony fan, my daily trainers are Kinvaras!

Took me through my first marathon in style!First of all, the Black/ViziRed colorway is SICK. Second of all, these shoes ride like a dream. I'm 115lbs and run a 10:30/mi easy pace, and they worked well for me. I usually need a wide width due to bunions, but these shoes had enough width in the forefoot / stretch in the upper that it was not an issue. Just check the cutout on the bottom regularly for rocks.

Best Ever!I took me 20 years -- but I've finally found my favorite running shoes. Can't get enough of them... I even stopped rotating my shoes, so I bought another pair.

Less than excited about Pro4As I’ve been wearing the first two versions of the endorphin pro series happily, I thought the latest iteration would be great too. I was disappointed in a couple of ways. The lovely speed roll for propulsion seems to have taken a back seat and cushioning in the forefoot as well. I can say size seems to have remained consistent(ordered 1/2 size up) and the tongue stays in place well. After receiving the Pro 4 I ordered the Pro 3 and was happier with both speedroll and cushioning.

Fun, fast shoeI've enjoyed running in these shoes! They offer a smooth, comfortable ride. I found they fit true to size. I thought the Pro 2s ran small, but the 4s match what I wear in the Pro 1s and 3s, along with the Speeds. The orange is super bright, and I do wish I had ordered a different color.

Good but not greatI've only had these shoes for a few weeks and have taken them on everything from an easy run to track intervals and a long run with race pace miles. These shoes are very comfortable and they don't feel unstable like a lot of super shoes. They definitely make it easier to hit those faster paces on runs but I don't notice a drastic difference from my other non-super shoes. My biggest complaint with these shoes are the laces. The material of them is super stretchy which causes the shoes to loosen as I run. I've had to change them out with laces from my old running shoes which is fine but now the laces are mismatching. Better laces would make the shoes a lot better in my opinion. I like these a lot more than the Nike Vaporflys (those hurt the top of my foot) but I used to have the Nike Alphaflys (v1) and the Endorphin Pros are not even close to as good as the Alphaflys. To be fair, these shoes are cheaper so it's not fair to compare them but I really loved my Alphaflys and have been hoping to find a close alternative since the new 3s are hard to come by. These are definitely not it but they are still great shoes that I will likely be using for my next Marathon.

Great shoes but with minor issuesI'm 5"7, 148 lbs. This is my 3rd pair of Endorphin Pro shoes. I'm a huge Saucony fan for many years. I love my EP2 and EP3. The EP4 is an also a great shoes - bouncy, light, and stable. I ran with it from 5K all the way up to 16 miles. It handled all situations and speed well. It is great pair of shoes for easy run, tempo run, and long run. The issues that I have was shoelaces and the tongue. The shoelaces are way too stretchy and does not do the work for me. But it is minor issue and you can easily replace it. The tongue is the real issue for me that I wish Saucony change it with its next model EP5. I like both my EP2 and EP3 tongue. The EP4 has a much longer tongue. If I don't fold it, it rubs my ankle joints. So I have to either fold it then tie shoelace or fold it after I tie shoelaces. Saucony might have a good reason to have it. I did some research but did not find a good use of it for me. I'm sure that many runners are fine with it. Overall, EP4 is a great pair of carbon shoes for training and race. It almost neck to neck compares to my favorite pair of shoes - Nike Vaporfly 1.

Saucony Pro4s are the worst versionI love the Pros, i love them so much that my 8th pair recently had to be retired so I purchased the 4s. DONT waste your money on this version. they did not think through the insole and arch area. The rubber of the arch on the outside of the shoe rubs against your foot (imagine the rubber and rough material against the soft skin of the arch). The insole does not project your arch from the rubber as it does in the 1,2,&3s. I had no skin left on both of my arches, 3 weeks later, they are still not healed.

Fast and snappyHad to size up half a size vs my ESP2, but wow. Used for 3 runs so far, 5 - 10 miles each, and love them. Plan on using them for my upcoming marathon. It’s hard to go slow in these, but my legs and feet don’t feel as tired afterwards even with faster than usual paces. The sewn in tongue was weird at first but it doesn’t bother me at all while I’m running.

FASTER THEN FASTWhoa, these are extremely light and fast. I love the feel of these so much better than the pro 3's! The tongue also stays in place, the 3's always slipped down drove me crazy! Thanks Saucony and Running Warehouse!!

Recommended if you have larger feetI have fairly large flat feet. I owned the Pro 3 and while I found it a fast and fun shoe to run in, part of my foot hung off the shoe in the midfoot, making it uncomfortable. I do not have this issue in the Pro 4. The shoe is wider, more stable and accommodates my feet better. These are way more fun to run in.

Better than Pro 3While I loved the Pro 3, this is a step up - the tongue was a huge issue on the 3’s, constantly shifting around. The tongue is attached more securely on the 4’s. The ride is still plush but with plenty of snap and responsiveness that makes it feel super fast. Others complain about bulk or heaviness, and I honestly didn’t feel that whatsoever. I felt the shoe felt light but incredibly stable. Would definitely recommend.

Complete step backwardsHeavier, bulkier, firmer, and less responsive than all prior versions. It’s a shame that Saucony got caught up trying to keep pace with every other brand that releases regular “upgrades” because they totally wrecked this shoe with all the updates they made. Ran half mile in them, turned around, boxed them back up and immediately returned them. Compares well with about 100 other “average” shoes now, not any super shoes. Spend your hard earned money on another super shoe, not this one.

Great updatesThe 4 pro is the best one yet in my opinion. I really like the upper change. The tongue lays over my foot better than the 3 did. I always felt like the tongue in the 3 moved around a little bit. The lockdown is solid as well. Midsole is great. The added PowerRun HG in the forefoot is noticeable and still the responsive PowerRun PB throughout. I also feel like the rubber on the outsole is more "sticky" and will be slightly more durable than prior versions. I would recommend these for racing but also could be used as a training shoe if you race in the Endorphin Elite. My size 12 comes in well under 9 ounces which is pretty solid.

A huge disappointI was expecting good things with the EP4 but I was disappointed. I've used the Endorphin Pro 3 for many half marathons and even used it for a full and it was exceptional. The pwrrunpb was very responsive and had great energy return. The EP4 with the addition of the HG foam and pwrrunpb doesn't gel well with me. I didn't like the Endorphin Elite but figured with both foams maybe it would improve. It feels like they nerfed the EP4 with this new update. The upper only feels snug around the ankle when knotted and doesn't feel secure over the top of the foot like the EP3 did. It feels like there is too much material. I had to return them.

Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 AMAZING!I received the new Saucony Endorphin Pro 4's today and went for a short 2 mile run. Let me start by saying, the first time putting the shoe on, it fit like a glove, literally. I wore a size 10 in the Pro 3, and the same in a Pro 4. My usual shoe size is a HOKA size 9.5. The shoe feels wider than the Pro 3, but the Pro 4 tongue is more elastic and is like wearing a sock. The tongue is attached and does not slide down. I love these shoes! Right out of the box, go for a run, no "break in" required! Smooth ride, the base of the shoe is more forgiving with the cushion, the toe box feels roomier, I believe due to the elastic tongue. The rocker is not as stiff as the Pro 3's either, must be the new added Elite foam layer borrowed from the Elite shoe. I just ordered another pair in the Viz Orange. This pair is Black and Red and let me tell you, the color way is the best I have seen coming out of Saucony. Worth every penny!
