Cushioning Level
Cushioning level, or stack height, refers to how much shoe is between your foot and the ground. For this category, we reference the amount of cushioning below the forefoot as the heel height will be equal to or greater than the forefoot height.
-
Barefoot
0-13mm. The Shoe generally does not have a midsole and feels like there is no cushioning. This shoe is all about feeling the ground underfoot.
-
Minimal
14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.
-
Low
19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.
-
Medium
24-28mm. These shoes have a stack height that fall near the middle of the spectrum. The shoes in this category are verstaile and great for all types of runs and distances.
-
High
29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.
-
Maximal
35mm plus. The shoe has an extremely thick midsole and extra cushioning. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel.
Stability Level
-
Neutral Running Shoes
Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have a built-in technology to correct movement.
-
Stability
Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.
Product Details:
Created with pro runner Avery Collins, the Speedland GL:SVT is inspired by Silverton, Colorado's rugged San Juan mountains. To excel there is to excel anywhere, and Speedland refuses to cut corners on its quest to build the best trail shoes ever to touch dirt.
The GL:SVT's striking upper offers the peak of customizable fit and security. Its high-tenacity mesh incorporates a PerformFit Wrap engaged by the two Li2 dials of the BOA Fit System. These multi-directional dials allow precise micro-adjustments tighter and looser, allowing instant on-the-fly changes that traditional laces can't match. This premium upper is capped with a built-in ankle gaiter of soft knit to seal out fine debris and enhance your secure fit.
Directly underfoot, a two-part midsole delivers an optimal balance of protective cushioning and responsive performance. The external carrier foam is beaded 100% HTPU for durable bounce, while the internal drop-in core adds exceptional comfort and performance. This proprietary internal core is removable, to add an optional Carbitex GearFlex carbon fiber plate (sold separately) if you wish.
Lastly, the GL:SVT's burly outsole features deep 6.5 mm lugs of Michelin rubber. Even the outsole is customizable, with a small drainage hole that can be cut open under the arch. Further, if you run in very dry environments, the lugs are designed with cuttable blocks so you can trim them shorter if desired.

How We Measure Our Shoe Specs
-
We measure every shoe in-house to provide accurate and consistent details.
-

-
Heel Stack
The heel stack refers to how high your heel sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.
-
Forefoot Stack
Forefoot stack refers to how high the ball of the foot sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.
-
Heel-toe Offset
Heel-toe offset (drop) is the difference in height between the heel stack and the forefoot stack. We use the number given to us by the brand.
How We Measure Shoe Fit
-
All measurements are based on Medium width.
-
Fit (width) options are Narrow - Snug - Average - Roomy - Wide.
-
Sizing (length) options are Short - True - Long. Note: fit is relative to the "average" running shoe.

Technologies
MIDSOLE
- Beaded 100% HTPU foam is supercritical aliphatic TPU for higher energy return, superior abrasion resistance, and long-lasting performance. This external bottom layer acts as a carrier for the internal drop-in core.
- Proprietary drop-in core foam is a supercritical blend of OBC, EVA, and nylon compounds for a slightly plusher but still responsive underfoot experience. This thick layer (15 mm heel / 10 mm forefoot) is removable to insert the optional Carbitex GearFlex carbon fiber plate (sold separately).
OUTSOLE
- Michelin OC1 rubber with Fiber Lite delivers a superb balance of sticky grip and high durability across variable surfaces.
- 6.5 mm lugs offer deep traction on softer dirt, mud, and loose terrain. The tips are cuttable if you wish to trim them shorter, for example if you're almost exclusively on very dry and hard-packed trails.
- Optional drainage hole under the arch comes sealed but allows you to cut it open if desired.
UPPER
- High-tenacity mesh is tightly woven for durability, protection, foot lockdown, and defense against fine debris.
- PerformFit Wrap combines three supportive overlays to securely wrap all vital areas of your foot.
- BOA Fit System utilizes two multi-directional Li2 dials to engage the PerformFit Wrap. These dials offer micro-adjustability in both directions, allowing you to instantly tighten the fit for bombing technical descents and loosen the fit for comfort as quickly and as often as you like.
- Built-in knit ankle gaiter provides soft and stretchy comfort that improves lockdown and seals out fine grit.
