Customer Reviews
Yes Please - Wide and Over pronationRoomy toe box. When they say its a wide they mean wide. The closest comparison to this toe box width is Brooks. Topo wide may be slightly bigger than a Brooks wide. Theres the perfect space between my toes and the tip of the shoe.
Midfoot feels amazing. Its snugger than Hokas and feels almost like a compression sock around the arch. My biggest concern was blisters around the arch but not one after 30 miles (4 miles and 3 miles runs).
Heel feels good. Theres a tiny bit of slippage, but nothing major and nothing that's caused a blister. Changing the way the laces are tied would fix this if it became an issue.
The ankle area is good. I had issues with Saucony shoes being SO wide at the ankle. I over pronate and that caused a lack of stability which was a total deal breaker. At first glance I thought these might be the same, but far from it. These fit nicely.
Cushioning feels fine. Not a lot but just enough. I dont like a lot of cushion but I want something that wont feel like running on bricks. These are that.
The weight of these wins me over. They feel stable but also light. I actually didnt even look at the weight of these but they kind of remind me of the old Nike Free Runs. Those felt like feathers on my feet (but had little to no support) and because of the flexibility I felt like I could fly. These accomplish a similar feeling but provide more stability.
The heel drop is less than normal for me. I think it's 3mm. My ankles and feet need to get use to this. Even with insoles I needed to take a break and go back into my Brooks/Hokas for a couple runs, but Ill increase my foot and ankle strength gradually in hopes these can become my everyday trainers.

To wide in Toe BoxThe Topo Athletic Ultrafly 5 is comfortable. I called Topo and they told me their regular size men’s shoe toe box starts at a 2E. I really needed a slightly smaller width in the toe box. I would hate to see a 2E men’s shoe. The lower drop felt good. I was disappointed the toe box was too wide for a regular size shoe.
I think they are better than their competitor. More cushion.

Very comfortable daily trainerThis is my primary daily trainer, and my first pair of topos. I wanted to slowly work my way into shoes with a lower heel drop so I picked these up. They feel great on my feet, and I don’t feel the medial post at all. The thing that really wins me over is the comfortable upper, especially on the tongue. I liked this shoe so much I ordered another pair of topos for my trail shoes.
