Fast and responsive with plenty of protection, the HOKA ONE ONE Mach 2 is back with a lightweight design that can handle nearly any distance. Featuring a springier midsole and an even more dialed-in upper fit, the Mach 2 has everything you need to pick up the pace during your next tempo run.
Midsole
In order to create a springy and responsive ride, the Mach 2 features an ultralight rubberized foam midsole. The new midsole continues to feature PROFLY technology for a soft, cushioned landing and a firmer, more propulsive toe-off. While stack heights remain the same, the new design adds some extra bounce to your step which should make the shoe even better for faster paces. Finished off with an updated, early-stage Meta-Rocker, the Mach 2 has been optimized to create an even smoother foot transition.
Outsole
The Mach 2 features an exposed rubberized foam outsole to help keep weight to a minimum. Similar to version one, this exposed design offers the durability and traction to handle longer miles while also adding much less weight than traditional blown rubber.
Upper
To further dial in the fit of the Mach 2, HOKA has decided to move away from the knit material seen in the previous version. The Mach 2's new engineered mesh design features a softer material that should increase breathability while creating a more adaptable upper fit.
Bottom Line
From long runs to tempo day, the HOKA ONE ONE Mach 2 delivers a springy yet protective experience that will excel at a variety of paces. With similar DNA to its predecessor, the Mach 2 offers small upgrades that should make a big difference in the shoe's ride and fit.
