Product Details:

The ASICS METASPEED Sky Paris is a lightweight and propulsive racing shoe designed to help athletes reach a new personal best in long-distance road races like the half and full marathon. The Sky Paris is specifically engineered for stride style runners by directing the energy return in a vertical direction to enhance stride length when picking up the pace.

The midsole has been updated with a new FF TURBO PLUS foam for more cushioned landings and greater energy return. To maximize the responsiveness further, the positioning of the carbon fiber plate has been optimized by situating the plate closer to the foot and widening the design in the forefoot to create a more explosive toe-off.

The shoe's outsole is composed of a durable ASICSGRIP rubber that ensures traction through all road conditions, and a new MOTION WRAP 2.0 upper completes the ASICS METASPEED Sky Paris with enhanced fit and breathability that not only reduces weight but secures the foot firmly on the shoe's platform. Overall, the ASICS METASPEED Sky Paris is an excellent option for runners looking to maximize their performance in long-distance races.

Fast shoe for slow runnerI’m not a fast runner but becoming faster. I got this shoe to help with workouts and fast speed sessions. At my pace, using these in workout almost seems like it’s cheating to hit my paces needed. They are soft, light and just throw you forward into your next step. I don’t the the whole cadence/stride runner but these work great for me. I’ve done 12 mile workout sessions in them and legs feel great next day. So if you’re an average runner, get them. If you’re a fast af runner, get them.

Fastest Road Race ShoeThis is hands down the fastest 5k-10k road shoe I have tried. I have tons of experience with the vaporfly 2 and these shoes are more responsive and bouncy than those and overall very powerful and springy shoes. Fastest road shoe I've ever worn and I have my 10k pb in them. Super great for 5 minute mile paced efforts. Overall a fantastic shoe and a great purchase!!

Great alternative to the alphaflyI feel these shoes are less aggressive and can be used for long distract racing. If you aren't sub 8:30s for a marathon alphaflys are too much force. These were perfect.

Great Race Day ShoeThis shoe is incredibly light and fast. It’s both a lot more stable than a lot of other carbon racers and not a harsh feeling. Lots of toe room without feeling sloppy. Probably the best carbon racer I’ve tried so far. Really the only downside is that they are a bit noisy, they kind of make a slapping/squishing sound in each stride. But it doesn’t affect the performance. Love them.

The Real DealI’ve run in many of the racing supershoes, from the Alphafly 1 to the Adios Pro 3, and the Sky Paris is unique: very light, very springy, and remarkably consistent. Set your pace, sit back, and let the shoes do the work; I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. Fit is true to size.

Excellent, if you the shoe works for youAbout eight months ago I was looking for a super shoe for my first marathon. I did lots of research, chatted with fellow joggers, agonized over the choices, and finally went with the Metaspeed Edge. And I couldn't run it. In fact, between that shoe and some other factors I ended up getting injured. Even after coming back from injury, I still couldn't run in it for very long. The Edge seems to have only one speed: fast. It mellowed out slightly after some break-in miles, but it still only wants to pitch me into my max effort pace. I've had some other plated shoes in my rotation, but nothing as aggressive as the Edge. By then I had found some other reviewers were reporting the same experience, especially the ones who had the luxury of spending a lot of time in both the Edge and the Sky. The Sky, it seems, is still the long distance cruiser. So I gave it a try. It's not obvious from step in that the Sky would be the better long distance shoe. The Edge is more comfortable when you first put it on, with more foam directly under foot. The Sky positions the plate closer to your foot, and the shoe feels unstable when you're not moving. But I was delighted to find that on my first run the Sky was much easier to control. I could run comfortably at my target race pace, but the shoe was also responsive when I wanted to push the pace. These are both fantastic (but aggressive) race shoes. I almost regret buying both to figure out what works for me, but the Edge now has a place for my fast workout efforts. If you're considering one of these two shoes just be thoughtful of what kind of racing you will doing with them. And try them on first if you can- not everyone responds the same to a shoe's design.

Great short-to-medium distance racing flatThe Metaspeed Sky Paris is my go-to shoe for race day when the distance is anywhere from 1 mile to a 10 K. The plate geometry and foam combine to provide a lot of punch while also protecting the legs. This racing flat also feels closer to the ground than other highly cushioned racing shoes, which is particularly nice on turns. Finally, I am 50 miles in on this shoe and my distal forefoot is not showing the wear I might have expected.

Huge Marathon PRThis shoe is money and just helped me break 3:00 at the Chicago Marathon. It is not the cushiest or bounciest carbon plated racer out there, but the energy return is fantastic and it has plenty of foam to keep your legs fresh through a marathon. I originally thought the fit in the mid foot would be a problem because my flat feet were spilling over the side, but I didn't really notice it when I was racing. This shoe is much lighter than its competitors and it really rewards good form and a fast cadence. There is a ton of room in the toe box - so much so that you may consider sizing down, but the increased space gave my toes all the room they needed during my race, and I ended up with no blisters or bleeding. These shoes are definitely worth considering if you are looking to throw down some speedy times. I just hope we get some better looking colors.

Close to greatGreat feel with a solid energy return. Tried it simultaneously with the Edge and like this much more for it's racing feel. Unfortunately the midsole it far too narrow and leaves my foot unsupported (Adios Pro and Vaporfly do not). The upper was comfortable for the few runs I used it on. Looking forward to the next iteration.

Half-marathon killer!I was initially a little concerned about the narrow heel, but this Metaspeed Sky is an absolute FLY-beast for the faster paces. I'm not sure I'd trust my form after the half-marathon point given the heel and overall last, but for the half-M or shorter down to track repeats, this shoe is fire. It's light, form-fitting but not constraining, and the outsole is grippier than you think (from the appearance). This is a great race shoe....

great shoe but needs a little bit moreI really like the weight of the shoe and how responsive it is with an increased pace. However, the tongue at least needs to be gusseted. I really want to use this shoe for Triathlons but WAY too difficult of a lace up situation for that.

Great Racer, On Par or Better than VaporflyI have no experience with any version of the alphaflys so I cannot speak to that, but the ASICS Metaspeed Sky Paris are a fantastic addition to the supershoe lineup. In my humble opinion, they beat out the newest version of the Vaporfly by a mile. They are both cushioned and bouncy, and have great energy return at those race pace efforts. They fit like a glove, with great laces and an upper that almost feels as if it isn't there at all. I panic bought these the week of a race and had absolutely zero complaints about fit, breaking in, or anything like that. I will also say I have used them for some XC as well and they handled it like a champ. Like all big stack shoes they aren't great to take sharp turns in, but they handle multiple terrain types with no problem. They are absolutely intended for the road, but I am just throwing it out there that I have no traction issues on dirt or grass either.

Looking for a Alphafly Substitute?I have been a strictly Nike Alphafly Racer since the shoes came out until I tried these babies. They are light and comfortable but give you that extra speed that comes with the carbon plated super shoes. I am making thr switch from Nike for two main reasons. One--no black toenail. I have consistently ended all marathons with a black toenail until the the Asics. Second reason is that while I love thr Nikes speed, I almost always have foot issues after the race. I have had no issues with these. Overall, better fit, consistent speed, and I don't deal with all the after effects! Highly recommend!

Sky over the Edge for marathon distanceAfter testing the ASICS Metaspeed Sky Paris, it became clear that this model outshines the Edge, especially for longer distances like the marathon. At slower, easy paces, I did feel some pressure on the internal part of my left arch, though it wasn’t an issue on my right foot. However, at marathon pace and faster, the Sky felt fantastic—stable, cushioned, and responsive, making it ideal for long runs or races. The shoe’s forefoot cushioning is excellent, providing more comfort and support than the Edge, especially over longer miles. Overall, the Metaspeed Sky is my go-to for marathons and fast-paced efforts. Pros: • Great cushioning, especially under the forefoot • Performs well at marathon pace and faster • Ideal for long distances Cons: • Some pressure on left arch at slower paces Verdict: The Metaspeed Sky Paris is a strong choice for marathon runners seeking a cushioned, responsive shoe for both training and race day.

Metaspeed Sky ParisI'm 5'7", 165 pound heel striker; they are bouncy and very light. Not sure if I would run a marathon in them; maybe a half marathon or shorter. I like them but for some reason I feel particularly beat up after running in them for longer distances. I haven't noticed this with my other shoes. I keep wishing Nike would bring back the Tempo Next %

Wow, just wowMy 10.5 fits me a tad large, but just fine for training. The toe box has plenty of room, but doesn't feel sloppy and large like the streakfly's. I like my racing shoes to be on the firmer side, which the Sky Paris does neatly. I can feel the plate lengthen my stride, and it makes running fast almost effortless. The one drawback is that it doesn't give much if any energy return until you get running down around 6:00 mile pace, but then again at faster speeds, it works beautifully (I'm a 15:57 5k). I use it for 5k/10k racing, and I would take it all the way up to a half or full marathon.

Kick It Up, and Fun, Even for Casual Runners!I am a casual runner, working as an ER doctor, with a weird schedule, taking my runs as I can, when I can. I am also over 60 years old, and have never run competitively. But as a physician, I believe in exercise whenever you can get it. That said, I have logged a few hundred miles this year. I am able to run a 5K at about a 8:20 pace; and I make no claims to training especially hard. Over the last two years, carbon plated shoes have crossed my horizon of awareness, and I have tried several brands. All have been a big boost to this aging guy. This Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris has joined my line-up of go-to shoes. The purpose of having a super shoe for a slightly above average runner (at my age) is simply this: it feels GREAT to get out there and not have my muscles tired out simply pumping squishy foam-only shoes. The carbon plated shoes have made running FUN again for me, not a chore, and I look forward to every chance I get just to get out and relax. My work is stressful, this pair of Asics contributes mightily to my sense of excitement when I get time to go out; it's no longer a "chore" because of carbon plated shoes. This pair has been exceptionally nice to me. I recommend it highly. By the way, some of the carbon plated shoes are a little narrow for me, or a little bit too hard without ANY cushion to speak of, and / or they give me a bit too much of a "propulsion" for me to keep control of my stride and pace. This pair strikes a PERFECT balance for me, and they are now -- after having tried four other pairs of carbon-plated shoes -- my absolute favorite!!

SpeedstersThe shoe is fast. It’s lightweight and you feel like you’re running in clouds. If you have weak ankles I wouldn’t recommend. Fits true to size length but a bit narrow (great for me as I have narrow feet). There’s a bit of a plate so you’ll gain 1-1.5 inches which is good on smooth surfaces but not good on trails or uneven terrain.

A Challenge of a ShoeThe shoe exhibits lightweight properties and offers a degree of comfort, albeit with room for improvement in its design. ASICS should redesign the shoe to emulate the bottom structure of the HOKA Rocket X2 for enhanced stability. The current design poses instability issues, notably affecting the wearer's ability to run for extended distances, causing discomfort in the ankles after 4-5 miles. While the weight and upper components are commendable, there is a need for improved stability in the shoe's overall design.

Fast and LightCompared to other super shoes I've tried (the Alphafly 3 and Adios Pro 3), the Metaspeeds are noticeably light and want me to go faster and faster. I'm not sure I'd run a marathon in them, but are definitely in contention for Half Marathon and down. I have slightly wider than average feet, so I do notice the midfoot arch a bit, but that feeling goes away when I run. The lockdown with ridged laces is great and the upper feels secure and breathable.

Incredible fit, incredible energy returnI love this show for racing/fast workouts! It has an extremely smooth transition and you can feel the shoe doing a lot of work at faster speeds. A little unstable if you’re not used to it (can feel like you’re “balancing” on the shoe, so I would reserve these for fast efforts. The red color is also so vibrant and cool in person! Overall my favorite racing shoe!

ResponsiveFirst few runs felt great. Very responsive shoe. I’ve raced in all of the VaporFly models with the first iteration being my favorite. Fantastic Racing ShoeI chose these shoes because of many other good reviews and I have enjoyed the Asics brand for my easy runs. Ran the Cincinnati Flying Pig half in these where I set a 4 minute PR on a hilly course. The rebound was very noticeable and i could definitely tell there was plenty of foam in this shoe to help with the later part of the race when form gets sloppy. The fiber plate put my stride exactly where I like to be, toward the front of the shoe. This was an extremely lightweight pair. I felt fast, they looked fast and performed better than expected. I recommend these to anyone looking for a fast racing shoe.

Great cushioning and feels fastI wore these shoes for my most recent half marathon. The shoe felt great the whole time, no rubbing. It's bouncy and the plate feels like it propels me. I have read that Asics race shoes run small and I found that to be true with the Magicspeed 3, but not for the Metaspeed Sky Paris. I wear an 8.5 in the Novablast 3 and the 8.5 worked for me in the Metaspeed Sky Paris. I had to go up to a 9 in the Magicspeed 3.

Narrow MidfootI didn't actually choose to run in these because they felt so very unstable just trying them on. The mid-foot was extremely narrow and it felt like I would easily twist my ankle if I ran in them and didn't land perfectly. I slightly over-pronate, as almost every female does due to our hip structure. So perhaps if you supinate these may work for you.
