This cruiser packs highly cushioned comfort, steady inherent stability, and serious grip into a technical trail running shoe that can tackle routine daily training and long-distance ultramarathons.
Leading with the engineered mesh upper, Altra recognized that the thick Achilles pillow of the previous version wasn't the right fit for every runner. So, version 7 reverts to traditional padding inside the heel cup, still giving you a luxurious step-in (and a plusher tongue) without the over-the-top pillow.
Underfoot, we get EGO MAX foam for the first time in a standard Olympus, just like in its Olympus 275 HiLo sibling. With the same trusted stack height and level heel-to-toe geometry as before, this EGO MAX gives your feet ample protection from the bruising trail surface. Now that it's a little softer and significantly lighter, you'll stay fresher and more relaxed, even deep into long runs, hikes, or multi-day efforts.
Tying it all together, you'll have even greater confidence on any terrain with the fully redesigned outsole. With broader Megagrip Traction Lug shapes and increased rubber coverage (less exposed foam under your midfoot), we can expect even better full-length traction and durability.

- Original FootShape fit provides Altra's most spacious fit, roomier than Standard. It gives your foot room for its natural alignment, to be a strong and stable foundation.
