No peblesI got 2 pairs of these a few weeks ago. Someone had complained about the front hook coming loose on their review. This wasn't a problem, as the fabric at that juncture is stiff/reinforced, all you have to do is hook the fabric it under the hook & it stays in place. The other option is to crimp the hook into a tighter radius, so it doesn't come off the lead lace. Kept all the trail debris out of my Speedgoats on a 13 mile muddy trail run & a 17 mile road run a few days earlier. The hook & loop came off the back of my shoe (cleaned prior to application); however, I got some extra-strong ones at Home Depot & put them on the back of my Speedgoats & my Clifton Goretex shoes (you only get one pair of hook 'n loop per set of Gaters).
