Product Details:

Ready to take on your longest trail runs, the Brooks Caldera 7 offers maximum cushioning in a surprisingly lightweight and responsive package. With the latest iteration, the Caldera has been refined for improved breathability, stability, and traction.

In the midsole, the shoe sports the same soft DNA Loft v3 cushioning that runners have come to love for its highly protective underfoot experience, but the midsole side walls have been redesigned and the base has been widened to offer added stability on uneven terrain. The new and improved outsole design has and added flex grooves for a smoother ride and features TrailTack Green Rubber for enhanced traction on wet and dry surfaces. On the upper, a fresh TPEE Air mesh not only amplifies breathability but also maintains excellent protection and durability over rough terrain.

If you are looking for ultimate comfort on the trails whether going for a short jog or training for an ultramarathon, the Brooks Caldera 7 delivers a winning combination of comfort and reliable performance to go the distance.

Great shoePut 100 miles on these shoes running rough technical trails on the front range of CO. They're still plush and like float on the trail like a dream. The toe box fits my foot fine, no blisters thus far. For a 15 mile or more run these shoes are great. I personally feel like I could go all day in them. They are great on the knees and ankle. I like them a lot. My only feed back would be make the lugs 5mm and I am querious as to how a rock plate would affect them.

Not so cushionedThey felt soft and wonderful in the store, but when put to the test on the trail, the cushion vanished and all I was left with is bulging arch support. I have high arches so this was really odd.

Capable midsole and outsoleIf you are into pretty high stack trail shoes, this one has a good midsole and outsole combo that chews through the miles. The overlays for toe protection are plastic-y and over engineered and actually fight against the nice midsole, but were not a deal breaker for me. The shoe does run nearly a half size small.

Great or blisters? This shoe unfortunately did not work out for me after 50 miles testing it. The medial side of my big toes rubbed the extremely stout toe bumper causing blisters and pain. If that didn’t happen I’d wear this for a lot of miles. Energy return is great, nice tongue, the upper dries well, traction is good over various terrains, and they do ok in technical trail. Not many shoes with this stack can do that. My legs felt fresh after runs. Durability from what I saw should be very good. Give them a try, if they rub on your first run you should be weary that it will continue. If not, you’ve got a great trainer for cruising or tackling 100 milers.

Narrow toe box, hard plastic....Living room only.... love the feel of the midsole. Tread seems rad..... Shoe generally feels half to full size too small.....fore foot doesn't flex easily....toe box feels way too narrow and it has hard plastic around it that my toes rub against. Narrow toe spray runners might have better success. Shoes which work for me --- Mafate 4, Ghost Max, More 3 Trail, 840 FFv1. My bodyweight is 155lbs, trails only, 30 - 50 a week. I feel that companies are not making good larger stack trail shoes in the 150 dollar range - too many oversights and compromises.

Narrow Toe BoxI'm returning because the top of the shoe is really narrow. The protection around the toe is also pretty stiff so my big toe is really crammed without much movement. Love the shoe otherwise. I'm really sorry it doesn't work!

Sizing is way off, runs small & narrowI usually wear a Brooks women’s 10 or 8.5 in men’s. These shoes run way too short. I ended up with blisters on my big and second toes after one run. The midsole is great and bouncy, so the shoe is good enough for me to try to get the sizing right. The shoe feels stable especially for the high stack height. But the sizing is really way off. I’m returning for a 0.5 size up, but I’m questioning whether to go even a full size up.

Overlay or widthThe cushioning of the shoe is very good , not sure if its a width or length problem but my big toes were rubbing uncomfortably in the toebox & i did notice the overlays around the toe area are a hard plastic . I wear a size 10 in all brooks reg width but im not sure exactly why this shoe is not lineing up right in the toebox.
