All Women's Road Shoes

  • Daily TrainersDaily Trainers

The baseline definition of a running shoe. Daily Trainers lean on time-proven designs, technologies and features for dependable cushioning, support and comfort. They're a staple in every runner's closet, and if you are new to running shoes, then you should start your journey here.

  • Performance TrainersPerformance Trainers

Performance Trainers provide a springy feel and make longer runs easier and faster runs faster. While quicker than Daily Trainers, Performance Trainers are not nearly as fast as Super Shoes. Due to a focus on keeping things light weight, Performance Trainers are less durable than Daily Trainers. These can also be a good option for one's first race shoe.

  • Super ShoesSuper Shoes

Super Shoes are the fastest running shoes you can buy. They are designed to race your absolute best and represent the pinnacle of running shoe technology and innovation. They have the highest energy return foams and plates for new levels of performance. Low durability, but maximum speed is the name of the game here.

Men's Running Shoes by Surface

  • Roads & PavementRoads & Pavement

Road running shoes feature smooth outsoles that are designed for running on paved surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, and bike paths.

  • Smooth Trails & FireroadsSmooth Trails & Fireroads

Designed to handle most trail runs, these shoes prioritize comfort and a smooth ride. These shoes are great for anything from smooth singletrack, park trails, and fireroads making them ideal for those who run from their doorstep on streets before hitting the trail.

  • Rocky & Technical TrailsRocky & Technical Trails

These shoes are best used for hard, rugged trails such as shale, granite or sandstone where grip on smooth surfaces and underfoot protection are important.

  • Soft & Muddy TrailsSoft & Muddy Trails

Designed for use in muddy, soggy conditions, these shoes feature very aggressive outsoles that dig deep into soft ground for exceptional traction.

  • Snowy & Icy TrailsSnowy & Icy Trails

These shoes feature technical outsoles designed to grip snowy and icy trails making them ideal for winter trail running.

Cushioning Level

  • Cushioning level, or stack height, refers to how much shoe is between your foot and the ground. For this category, we reference the amount of cushioning below the forefoot as the heel height will be equal to or greater than the forefoot height.
Learn more about stack heights and how we measure them.

  • Barefoot

0-13mm. The Shoe generally does not have a midsole and feels like there is no cushioning. This shoe is all about feeling the ground underfoot.

  • Minimal

14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.

  • Low

19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.

  • Medium

24-28mm. These shoes have a stack height that fall near the middle of the spectrum. The shoes in this category are verstaile and great for all types of runs and distances.

  • High

29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.

  • Maximal

35mm plus. The shoe has an extremely thick midsole and extra cushioning. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel.

Stability Level

  • Neutral

Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have a built-in technology to correct movement.

  • Stable

Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.

Product Details:

The Brooks Glycerin Max proudly introduces DNA Tuned cushioning, straight from Brooks' innovative BlueLine Lab. This supercritical nitrogen-infused foam boasts dual-size cell technology – larger cells in the heel for plusher landings, with smaller cells in the forefoot for invitingly energetic toe-offs. Meanwhile, the sculpted GlideRoll Rocker geometry helps promote the smoothest transitions possible.

While this beauty is rightfully all about the delightful experience under your feet, the quasi-strategic rubber outsole provides a just-right balance of generous coverage, and it's all wrapped up in an equally stylish air mesh upper for ultimate comfort. Not to be left out, its unique linear last construction is designed to be inclusive for many foot shapes and to accommodate orthotics if desired.

If you're ready to level up your training game in runner-first innovation, lace up the Brooks Glycerin Max for gleeful airy cruising, mile after mile.

How We Measure Our Shoe Specs

  • We measure every shoe in-house to provide accurate and consistent details.

  • Weight

The weight is based on a Men's size 9 for Men's and Unisex shoes or Women's size 8 for Women's shoes. The weight listed is for a single shoe, including the laces.

  • Heel Stack

The heel stack refers to how high your heel sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Forefoot Stack

Forefoot stack refers to how high the ball of the foot sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Heel-toe Offset

Heel-toe offset (drop) is the difference in height between the heel stack and the forefoot stack. We use the number given to us by the brand.

How We Measure Shoe Fit

  • All measurements are based on Medium width.

  • Fit (width) options are Narrow - Snug - Average - Roomy - Wide.

  • Sizing (length) options are Short - True - Long. Note: fit is relative to the "average" running shoe.

  • We partner with SmartLast, a program by Heeluxe, to use advanced shoe-measuring technology, to provide objective measurements for toe box, midfoot, and heel widths as well as overall length.

Feels like a zero dropI was super excited about this shoe. Took it out for a 7 mile and felt like I was running uphill the whole time. It may have been the squishy heel, but it was tough to pull through my step and toe off. Not sure if they will let me return? I love how it looks and feels standing and walking, (esp nice on the older joints) but I need it for running.

Way better than you thinkJust hit 300m and feel like I will easily get 100 more. Plush but stable, smooth ride, and just a great all around high cushion daily trainer. Only change I would make is a thinner tongue but other than that no notes. Would love a trail version!

ExcellentThis is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. As soon as I put my feet into this shoes it’s comfort right from the start. I’ve had a great experience with the Brooks Glycerin Max! It’s always awesome when a shoe immediately delivers comfort and performance. I have experience with some solid brands too, so it’s clear the Glycerin Max is standing out. It’s the most comfortable, plush, max shoes I have ever ran in. I don’t have any problems with my foot slipping. The tongue by is comfortable, and the laces lock into place. No matter if your tempo, speed, of just want to cruise. This shoe definitely holds up over long distances and lots of miles? this shoes will take you the miles while keeping your legs fresh all day.

Premium Build and Aesthetics But Falls ShortI was lured in by the hype but ultimately disappointed by fit and found the performance not great enough to overlook the fit. I have a regular width foot that is lower volume. Upon step in, it feels that the heel is very shallow, not allowing my heel to sit entirely within the shoes. In reality my foot is fine and the feeling goes away after a bit of running but the sensation is off and real. I well over 40 miles at varied paces on fresh and tired legs in hopes the foam would break in to something notable but it just feels "meh" in the energy return and without any real purpose to that much stack. Additionally, my right foot feels like it is rolling off the insole and the lateral pressure applied by the upper implies my regular foot is just too wide for the platform. I would keep them for occasional runs if funds were unlimited, but I will be returning them in favor of my current, gen 1 Superblasts that have 600+ miles and are more enjoyable for my running style.

AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING!This is my first brooks shoe, AMAZING SHOE! The Brooks Glycerin Max truly showcases cutting-edge innovation with its DNA Tuned cushioning its great for long runs, its very comfortable, foamy, buttery smooth, responsive and a good bouncy spring. The combination of cushioning, responsiveness, and secure fit really makes it stand out for long runs, especially when comfort is your top priority. offering plush cushioning in the heel and energetic responsiveness in the forefoot. This provides an ideal mix of comfort and responsiveness, making every step feel smoother and more efficient. The GlideRoll Rocker geometry ensures seamless transitions, reducing fatigue over longer distances. The laces are amazingly secure. The tongue is cushy and long enough. Overall this Max cushion shoe feels very well built, top of the line premium running shoe. These might be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn to this day. Im a bigger guy 6'2" 250+ lbs and wanted something that would make my back, legs, knees, joints, and feet feel great all day even after a long run. I wasn't looking for speedy shoe however I was looking for comfort and this is it! This shoe seems to be a perfect match, especially for someone looking for that premium, all-day wear feel. In essence, the Brooks Glycerin Max combines innovation, comfort, and performance into a shoe that feels as good as it looks, giving you the freedom to focus on enjoying the run, mile after mile. It The Brooks Glycerine Max really excels in providing solid traction, even in challenging conditions. Running in fog, wet surfaces, and over fallen leaves can be tricky, but with that kind of grip, you can tackle any terrain with confidence. That kind of grip gives you an added layer of confidence, knowing your shoes are providing stability as you tackle different terrains. It’s especially reassuring on longer runs, where the added stability helps you stay focused and safe, even when the weather or surface conditions aren’t ideal. It’s great that the shoe offers that extra peace of mind during tougher conditions. It’s always reassuring to know your shoes will keep you stable, especially on longer runs.

BIG AND BEAUTIFULFantastic recovery shoe. It did require some break in miles, at first it felt super stiff and rigid. Im about 160lbs mid- forfoot striker and it took about 50-60 miles to really feel the cushon, beyond that they have been outstanding. The heel cup is a tad low, but does not cause me any problems. This is my first brooks shoe and it has been an excellent choice. I usually train in the sb2 and these are more protective. Overall its a great long run, recovery shoe, a little expensive, but if it lasts 400-500 miles i will be pleased. Its probably the ugliest shoe i own, but when it feels this good....

To snugI’m a size 9 in every running shoe brand I’ve ever tried. Got a size 9 for these and I could barely get them on my feet. Recommend a half size up. But the foam felt pretty good.

Great for recovery runs, not my primary go-toSizing is true. Quality materials. Can't recall any other shoe w/ such a low heel cup. This is very noticeable initially but thankfully no slipping issues during runs. The laces are amazingly secure. The tongue is cushy and long enough. Overall this Brooks Max shoe feels very premium and easy to get in/out of. My only downsides with the shoe are some instability issues caused by the stack height when running downhill or on uneven surfaces. I choose this shoe on days where tired legs need to get an hour+ run in (ranging from 8:00min to 10:00min/mile paces).

Surprisingly Fast; Supremely ProtectiveI am really impressed by these! They are comfortable and smooth at everything from brisk walking ~14min/mi pace to pickups ~6min/mi pace. The cushioning is somehow protective and bouncy while also having a snappy response that makes the shoe run much lighter and faster than its look/weight suggests. I also wore these for a post-race recovery run on rolling paved hills, two days after a 50-miler and they were superb! No toenail pressure on my sore toes, no pressure on my healing big toe blisters and so smooth/bouncy that I had to consciously slow down. I’ve never had such a great run so soon after a long race. Sizing is accurate. Vertical toebox space isn’t the best but the upper is forgiving enough that you don’t feel cramped once running. I’ve a normal to narrow foot, often requiring the extra eyelets for heel lockdown but don’t need that in these. Spend the time to dial in the midfoot lacing and give these a couple of outings at all paces and you’ll be glad you did. A truly versatile shoe that makes faster runs feel effortless and slower runs feel FUN.

Combo of plush and bounceMy Glycerin Max arrived yesterday and I promptly put them on then ran outside!!! Of course, I stretched and used a theragun to loosen my leg muscles long before my run. Anyway, while running, my feet gel with the shoes perfectly. No pressure points and no rubbings. For every impacts (landings), there are blissful plushes. For every pushes, there are excellent bounces. It's a great pair for a nice long slow run. I got the shoes because I wanted to run longer with absolutely no pain. I wasn't looking for speed, I was looking for comfort and this is it. Oo, the shoes does rocked me foward and it's ideal for running. They're not design for walking at all. Good ground grip. It was cool sunny day in San Francisco.
