Great shorts!Just bought these shorts in both 5in and 7in. Love the 2in1 liner. Prevents chafing and gives plenty of support. Lots of pockets to stash things including a decent sized zip pocket on the right side. Very comfortable. Wide waistband adds to that comfort. Have replaced almost all of my other shorts with these.

Comments: Pocket upgrades are wonderful! Waistband rides a good bit higher than previous version. Everything is better but the ruffles. I am guessing a sewing machine malfunction gave me the 5 ruffles on the bottom front of both legs. The double seam got pinched and made a ruffley piping which my wife says looks terrible. Way to comfy to return so I will just run in the ruffles.

Comments: In my opinion, Brooks makes some of the greatest running shorts. And then they discontinue them, or in the case of the Sherpa 2-in-1, change them for the worse. I bought a pair in 2017 that I really like. But this latest version is several steps backward. One, the waistband is less substantial. If you don't tie the drawstring then they will likely sag down to the hips after a few miles. Two, the liner shorts are also less substantial. Three, moved the zipper pocket from the tailbone to the outer right thigh, where it bounces around more. Four, the new stash pockets are too big. I'm sure they're very comfy for lounging around or doing semi-active coaching, but for actual running I can only use them if I also wear compression shorts, and I don't think going down a size is a solution.
