All Women's Road Shoes

  • Daily TrainersDaily Trainers

The baseline definition of a running shoe. Daily Trainers lean on time-proven designs, technologies and features for dependable cushioning, support and comfort. They're a staple in every runner's closet, and if you are new to running shoes, then you should start your journey here.

  • Performance TrainersPerformance Trainers

Performance Trainers provide a springy feel and make longer runs easier and faster runs faster. While quicker than Daily Trainers, Performance Trainers are not nearly as fast as Super Shoes. Due to a focus on keeping things light weight, Performance Trainers are less durable than Daily Trainers. These can also be a good option for one's first race shoe.

  • Super ShoesSuper Shoes

Super Shoes are the fastest running shoes you can buy. They are designed to race your absolute best and represent the pinnacle of running shoe technology and innovation. They have the highest energy return foams and plates for new levels of performance. Low durability, but maximum speed is the name of the game here.

Men's Running Shoes by Surface

  • Roads & PavementRoads & Pavement

Road running shoes feature smooth outsoles that are designed for running on paved surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, and bike paths.

  • Smooth Trails & FireroadsSmooth Trails & Fireroads

Designed to handle most trail runs, these shoes prioritize comfort and a smooth ride. These shoes are great for anything from smooth singletrack, park trails, and fireroads making them ideal for those who run from their doorstep on streets before hitting the trail.

  • Rocky & Technical TrailsRocky & Technical Trails

These shoes are best used for hard, rugged trails such as shale, granite or sandstone where grip on smooth surfaces and underfoot protection are important.

  • Soft & Muddy TrailsSoft & Muddy Trails

Designed for use in muddy, soggy conditions, these shoes feature very aggressive outsoles that dig deep into soft ground for exceptional traction.

  • Snowy & Icy TrailsSnowy & Icy Trails

These shoes feature technical outsoles designed to grip snowy and icy trails making them ideal for winter trail running.

Cushioning Level

  • Cushioning level, or stack height, refers to how much shoe is between your foot and the ground. For this category, we reference the amount of cushioning below the forefoot as the heel height will be equal to or greater than the forefoot height.
Learn more about stack heights and how we measure them.

  • Barefoot

0-13mm. The Shoe generally does not have a midsole and feels like there is no cushioning. This shoe is all about feeling the ground underfoot.

  • Minimal

14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.

  • Low

19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.

  • Medium

24-28mm. These shoes have a stack height that fall near the middle of the spectrum. The shoes in this category are verstaile and great for all types of runs and distances.

  • High

29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.

  • Maximal

35mm plus. The shoe has an extremely thick midsole and extra cushioning. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel.

Stability Level

  • Neutral

Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have a built-in technology to correct movement.

  • Stable

Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.

Product Details:

Taking inspiration from the Wave Rebellion Pro, Mizuno's pinnacle race day shoe, the Wave Rebellion Flash 2 has been redesigned to offer a similar experience to the Pro while maintaining its DNA as an uptempo training shoe.

Thanks to the incorporation of Mizuno's radical SMOOTH SPEED ASSIST geometry, the Wave Rebellion Flash 2 has the look and feel of a top-of-the-line performance shoe. Moreover, this version sees an upgrade in the midsole cushioning thanks to a top layer of the brand's most bouncy and responsive compound, ENERZY LITE+. Meanwhile, the bottom layer continues to feature ENERZY foam for added durability. Sandwiched between those layers of foam is a fiber glass wave plate that has been designed to be stiffer and, therefore, snappier making your training runs feel faster and easier than ever before.

In the outsole, you'll see the durable and grippy G3 rubber that is also found in the Wave Rebellion Pro, and finally, the engineered mesh upper has been thoughtfully designed to deliver a comfortable fit without compromising its goal of keeping weight down.

With a refreshed look and upgrades in critical areas, it will be no wonder why you keep lacing these up when you want to push your training to the limits.

How We Measure Our Shoe Specs

  • We measure every shoe in-house to provide accurate and consistent details.

  • Weight

The weight is based on a Men's size 9 for Men's and Unisex shoes or Women's size 8 for Women's shoes. The weight listed is for a single shoe, including the laces.

  • Heel Stack

The heel stack refers to how high your heel sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Forefoot Stack

Forefoot stack refers to how high the ball of the foot sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Heel-toe Offset

Heel-toe offset (drop) is the difference in height between the heel stack and the forefoot stack. We use the number given to us by the brand.

How We Measure Shoe Fit

  • All measurements are based on Medium width.

  • Fit (width) options are Narrow - Snug - Average - Roomy - Wide.

  • Sizing (length) options are Short - True - Long. Note: fit is relative to the "average" running shoe.

  • We partner with SmartLast, a program by Heeluxe, to use advanced shoe-measuring technology, to provide objective measurements for toe box, midfoot, and heel widths as well as overall length.

Very Unique RideThe Flash 2 is a legit shoe, but the ride might not appeal to everyone. The heel design isn't as radical as what you get with the Flash Pro, but it's still noticeable. Overall, the Flash 2 is probably more suited to forefoot strikers. Either way, it's light and nicely cushioned!

For forefoot runnersThis shoe is a fast light shoe for workouts or probably some could race in it. However it was not a shoe for me because it pushed me up on my forefoot to much. I’m a mid foot striker and have issues with metatarsal pain in my left forefoot a lot so I had to return this shoe for only that reason. But for people that land on their forefoot or don’t have issues with that part of your feet then I think it’s an amazing running shoe.

Flash 2. A fast shoeThis is a great shoe! It is very cushy throughout. The negative heal will strengthen your calves some. It is a shoe for picking up the pace. It practically makes you want to run faster. I have been enjoying my runs more. I was always a Mizuno Wave Rider fan but I fell away since the shoes were heavy and others were creating more softer and springier shoes. This new shoe delivers on the wave plate that gives you that snap. It's a great shoe and I enjoy every run now. Thanks again mizuno.

Terrible ShoeIt is a shame that Mizuno chose to follow others. Going to a thick cushioning sole is wrong. Run on an uneven sidewalk or turn around on a road and you will notice the give in the sole. With no foot to ground support, I feel they are going to increase injury. True, they influence forefoot strike, but you will use all quads and not even notice your hamstrings or glutes. Instead of going to thick soles, educate people to run correctly. I am returning mine after 2 runs. Please bring back your old neutral shoes similar to the Wave Shadow.

Incredible pair of shoesI wasn't sure what to expect from these shoes. Some reviews I read said they were for hard fast efforts, others said they were for easy days. I am a heavier forefoot striker (6ft, 200lbs) and the bounce and energy return on these is absolutely incredible. I like these for easy runs with faster tempo efforts mixed in. I like these more than the NeoVista as they have a tremendous amount of comfort and energy return and easier to turn over than the NeoVista. I also like the breathable upper and the looks of these shoes more than the NeoVista. These are an incredible fun shoe to take out for your runs. I wouldn't use this as my sole shoe or daily trainer but its a tremendously fun shoe to mix in to a well-rounded rotation. I highly recommend this shoe.

Forefoot Strikers ParadiseI am a forefoot striker and absolutely love this shoe from the moment I tried it on the treadmill of my local running store. I initially mistook it for the Wave Rebellion Pro 2 as it felt a little heavy to be billed as a racing shoe or even a speed work/tempo run shoe (not quite responsive enough at high end paces) and I was right. I love this shoe for my long runs though as the forefoot is plush and it rides like a luxury automobile. No useless excess bulk in the heel for me! The shoes feel weird just standing in them as you will feel like you will fall backwards if you lean back a little bit, but while running they effortlessly propel you forward. I have a neutral/under pronation foot strike and have no problems with stability in this shoe although the salesman at the store said he couldn't wear it (he is an extreme over pronator and has flat feet). I am a Nike wearer but the Mizuno Wave Rebellion line is quickly winning me over in my presence for Mizuno. P.S. I also have the Wave Rebellion 2 for racing and I like them a lot, but for overall feel; I like the Flash 2 a little better. I you don't mind a little extra weight, you could probably run a good Half Marathon/Marathon/road Ultra in them!

LoveAbsolutely love this Mizuno Rebellion Flash 2 shoe for running. It looks strange, but I love it. Run a 5 mile and my feet I did not feel the concrete at all.

They want to go fast but…Im a long time Mizuno fan and I enjoyed the previous Flash model. These have the same kind of feeling as the pro series but feels very loose under foot. The one positive is the upper including the laces are improved. These might be okay for forefoot strikers but mid to heel strikers might have issues.
