All Men's Road Shoes

  • Daily TrainersDaily Trainers

As the broad base of the running shoe pyramid, Daily Trainers are the definition of a go-to running shoe. They prioritize dependable comfort, support, durability, and routine versatility. They're a staple in every runner's closet. If you're newer to running shoes, you can confidently start your journey here.

  • Performance TrainersPerformance Trainers

Performance Trainers give a springy feel to make faster runs faster and longer runs easier. While usually quicker than Daily Trainers, Performance Trainers (or "super trainers") aren't as fast as Super Shoes. With lightweight tech, Performance shoes can be less durable than Daily Trainers. They're also a great choice as your first race shoe.

  • Super ShoesSuper Shoes

The pinnacle of the pyramid, Super Shoes are the fastest running shoes you can buy. They're designed to race your absolute best and are the apex of running shoe technology and innovation. With carbon fiber plates and cutting edge superfoams for the highest energy return, they have lower durability and comfort, but maximum speed.

Men's Running Shoes by Surface

  • Roads & PavementRoads & Pavement

Road running shoes feature smooth outsoles that are designed for running on paved surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, and bike paths.

  • Smooth Trails & FireroadsSmooth Trails & Fireroads

Designed to handle most trail runs, these shoes prioritize comfort and a smooth ride. These shoes are great for anything from smooth singletrack, park trails, and fireroads making them ideal for those who run from their doorstep on streets before hitting the trail.

  • Rocky & Technical TrailsRocky & Technical Trails

These shoes are best used for hard, rugged trails such as shale, granite or sandstone where grip on smooth surfaces and underfoot protection are important.

  • Soft & Muddy TrailsSoft & Muddy Trails

Designed for use in muddy, soggy conditions, these shoes feature very aggressive outsoles that dig deep into soft ground for exceptional traction.

  • Snowy & Icy TrailsSnowy & Icy Trails

These shoes feature technical outsoles designed to grip snowy and icy trails making them ideal for winter trail running.

Cushioning Level

  • Cushioning level, or stack height, refers to how much shoe is between your foot and the ground. For this category, we reference the amount of cushioning below the forefoot as the heel height will be equal to or greater than the forefoot height.
Learn more about stack heights and how we measure them.

  • Barefoot

0-13mm. The Shoe generally does not have a midsole and feels like there is no cushioning. This shoe is all about feeling the ground underfoot.

  • Minimal

14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.

  • Low

19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.

  • Medium

24-28mm. These shoes have a stack height that fall near the middle of the spectrum. The shoes in this category are verstaile and great for all types of runs and distances.

  • High

29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.

  • Maximal

35mm plus. The shoe has an extremely thick midsole and extra cushioning. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel.

Stability Level

  • Neutral Running Shoes

Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have built-in technology to correct movement.

  • Stable

Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.

Product Details:

The Mount to Coast H1 doesn't force you to choose between road and trail; it simply delivers on both. Step out your front door, roll through the streets, and flow onto dirt paths without missing a beat.

The nitrogen-infused CircleCell midsole protects every stride with durable, eco-friendly foam that maintains its protective comfort over long distances. On the ground, the lightweight rubber outsole keeps traction subtle and smooth, with 2mm lugs that bite on gravel and compact dirt but won't slow you down on asphalt.

For comfort that lasts hours, the H1's roomy toe box gives your feet the space they need, while the breathable double-layer Jacquard mesh adds resilience without weight. The TUNEDFIT dual lacing system allows you to dial in the fit across different zones of the foot, an especially welcome detail when swelling sets in during ultras or long training runs.

Ready for long-distance singletrack, backyard ultras, or daily mixed-surface runs, the H1 is the do-it-all shoe that never feels out of place.

What You'll Love:

  • Cushioning that endures high mileage
  • Smooth ride from road to trail without harsh transitions
  • Spacious toe box designed for natural movement and long-distance comfort

How We Measure Our Shoe Specs

  • We measure every shoe in-house to provide accurate and consistent details.

  • Weight

The weight is based on a Men's size 9 for Men's and Unisex shoes or Women's size 8 for Women's shoes. The weight listed is for a single shoe, including the laces.

  • Heel Stack

The heel stack refers to how high your heel sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Forefoot Stack

Forefoot stack refers to how high the ball of the foot sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Heel-toe Offset

Heel-toe offset (drop) is the difference in height between the heel stack and the forefoot stack. We use the number given to us by the brand.

How We Measure Shoe Fit

  • All measurements are based on Medium width.

  • Fit (width) options are Narrow - Snug - Average - Roomy - Wide.

  • Sizing (length) options are Short - True - Long. Note: fit is relative to the "average" running shoe.

  • We partner with SmartLast, a program by Heeluxe, to use advanced shoe-measuring technology, to provide objective measurements for toe box, midfoot, and heel widths as well as overall length.

Advanced SimplicityExcellent foam, fit and a shape that compliments my foot shape. Cushioning is very balanced and allows for some tissue adaptation while still being protective. Goldilocks shoe for me. I have about 120 miles on my pair and they've broken in nicely and really come alive. Enough traction for the trails and conditions that I run in while still being smooth on the pavement going from door to trail that makes up most of my running. True to size fit. MtC is really onto something with it's foams. 5'9 and 150 lbs. I run 30-40 miles per week.

SHAWNEE NATIONAL FOREST KILLERMy first run out of the box went like this: Headed to the Shawnee National Forest to run 10 miles and was planning on doing another 10 on the Tunnel Hill Trail. Well, I got to the Trail and I had forgotten my Trail Shoes. The Shawnee is a very technical and horse damaged Trail. So, I decided to do a favorite 6 mile run. Loved the shoes so much, just ran 20 miles in the rocky/technical/Horse damaged, and in some Creek crossings. OMG they worked great!!! I’ve tried several other very popular trail shoes in the Shawnee (just ask Running Warehouse lol). This is the Best shoe I’ve ever worn. Wish I had had them out west. Love how they would land on a slanted rock and not shock my ankle or knees like most shoes do. My LaSportiva’s Pro’s do. Always loved Speedgoats there but lately I come out of the top. Nnormal’s feel good but the sharp toe box hurt and rocks always hurt the sides of my feet. Years ago shoes were first built to fit into saddle stirrups and people continue to do it. I finished my run with two miles on blacktop and when I’ve tried that in the past it had hurt, but not these shoes.

Narrow with high archThis shoe has gone viral, and I don't get it. I have a pretty low volume foot with a moderate arch, and this shoe is unwearable due to the narrow midfoot and high arch. I'm literally hanging off the edge, and it's not just my foot -- the insole hangs off the side of the shoe as well. I have the TI, and though this tongue is better, I wish they would just do away with the gimmicky two-lace system and just use regular laces.

Spectacular shoeI’ve been struggling to find a comfortable shoe for Javelina, as my Achilles won’t tolerate Altra anymore. It is not an aggressive trail, so a hybrid shoe will do just fine. Took these out of the box for a 20 miler with only one little hotspot that likely would have stopped if I did something about it, which I didn’t to see if it would get way worse - it didn’t. Would buy again.
