Product Details:

The New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14 is a neutral daily trainer with some big updates that elevate both performance and comfort. The shoe's midsole has undergone a complete transformation. Introducing an evolved Fresh Foam X midsole with an additional 2 mm of stack height, this shoe provides runners with a smoother underfoot experience while also dropping in weight. Additionally, the heel-to-toe drop has been lowered for the first time to 8 mm from the previous version's 10mm drop to offer more cushioning in the forefoot for all-day wear.

The outsole features NDurance blown rubber in a new layout with modified flex grooves to enhance durability and traction on any road surface. Completed with a single-piece upper as opposed to the two-piece upper in the last version, this soft-engineered mesh reduces weight and ensures a breathable and plush feel for longer efforts. The Fresh Foam X 880 v14 is reimagining New Balance's reliable ride to give all runners maximum comfort for their daily road miles.

A little too softI've been running in 880s for several iterations. I read where NB reimagined the 880, and in doing so they actually degraded it. Because of the added softness, especially in the forefoot, it feels sluggish. I really liked the V12, and the V13 was a bit too stiff. Now the V14 is too soft. It seems like all of the shoe companies are putting more cushion under the shoe. I guess they all want to be Hoka wannabes. If I wanted an uber cushioned shoe, I'd buy a Hoka. What I want is a shoe that has more cushioning than a racing flat but not so much it feels like marshmallows. And the V14 is leaning toward marshmallows. I also had to go down a half size from what I used to wear. Even then and lacing the shoes up to prevent heel slip, I still had some. NB needs to make the heel snugger. I do like the 8 mm drop, though.

New Balance Fresh Foam X 880This is the fourth pair of New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 that I've ordered through the Running Warehouse. I'm very satisfied with the shoe. It feels very comfortable and fits right on my feet. The Running Shoe Warehouse has a great selection of shoes at a reasonable price. I always look at their online store when ordering shoes. I highly recommend the shoe and The Running Shoe Warehouse.

Solid everyday mileage shoeThis was my first experience with the updated 880 (since it changed from the 1080, I believe) and I continue to find it to be a solid 'everyday' shoe for logging miles. It has a bit more cushion than the Pegasus which is normally my go to, and doesn't have quite enough pop to go fast but really solid for bulk and easy miles. I've logged ~200 miles in the current pair and expect to get 450-500 out of these, so they have solid longevity as well. Highly recommend at the price point for a middle of the road training shoe with good support

Cloud runningSuper cushy and cozy without being a maximalist shoe. This is a great everyday trainer, especially for longer distances.

Great feel and cool colorwaysVery comfortable. I have wide feet and had to go up a size because the mesh over the top of my feet was a little more snug than I prefer.

Disappointed in Quality ControlI thought I would love these shoes, until I started running in them. I bought them specifically for their durability. I loved the extra rubber on the sole that could take me on easy and longer runs over pavement and conservation trails in my neighborhood and hold up over time. I ended up sending them back after only 27 miles when the rubber started to peel back from the heel. Yes, the heel rubber began separating from the midsole on both the left and right shoes. I know I am a big-time heel striker but this is ridiculous. Whatever happened to New Balance quality control!

New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14Overall good quality shoe. Very comfortable fit and good support. I use it for walking 4-5 per day - 4-5 times a week. This is a lighter shoe that enables me to keep a fairly fast pace while walking. I would recommend this shoe.

I liked theseI liked these a lot more than I was expecting to. They were comfortable, but ultimately the comfort of the Saucony Guide 17 won. I would defintiely consider these as a backup!

880v14 made too many changesI've worn 880 since v10. I liked the v10&11 but the cushioning was too mushy for v12. The v13s had firmer cushion and good responsiveness again. Now, everything has changed for the v14. It's a completely shoe in my opinion. For reference, I run about 25 miles a week including one speed workout. Average easy pace is 7:45/mi. I do all of my runs in the NB880v13 currently. I am very disappointed by the recent change in the v14 to an 8mm drop. There are plenty of other models that already have a lower drop, please don't mess with 880! Some of us rely on the 10mm drop. I also am not a fan of the new super bouncy foam. The combination between the bouncy foam and the rocker geometry causes me to run differently (which has caused injuries). I prefer the more traditional feeling shoe. The 880 was my go-to and now in going to have to look for something else this season (probably brooks). I'm really hoping NB goes back to a 10mm drop and firmer cushioning for the 880 next year because I do love the fit of their shoes with the more rounded toe box.

New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14 ReviewI've been wearing the New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14 for over a year now. The shoe is very comfortable and stable. I use the running shoe for my long distance runs on the weekends. I run races usually every weekend from a 5K up to a marathon distance. I run a marathon once a year. The running shoe has been a great asset to my training and success. I love the shoe so much that I purchased another one which is fresh in the box, ready to use once I've done through running with my current pair. It's rare that I purchase the same shoe ahead of time before it's discontinued and unavailable. I highly recommend the shoe.

New Favorite ShoeI’ve always been a fan of New Balance but this one takes the cake. My favorite design to date. Shoe has the perfect balance of weight, cushion and comfortability. I already got my second pair and ready to put more miles on them.

Simplicity at its finestThe New Balance 880 has been a staple in my running rotation for years, and I feel like this iteration is the best so far. The toe box is wide and roomy, without being too spacious. The cushioning is slightly firm, but bouncy and fun to run in. I have already bought several versions of this shoe in different colors because I love them so much!

New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14 ReviewI've been using the New Balance Fresh Foam X 880 v14 for awhile. I've been running for 25 years consecutively and switch out my shoes after 300 miles. I've gone through two pairs and this will be my third pair. I'm very satisfied with the cushion and comfort it gives me. It's not a heavy shoe and is extremely comfortable. I will keep using the New Balance Fresh Foam as long as New Balance continues to manufacture the shoe. Great job New Balance!

Like the NB running shoes of yoreI loved the NB 890's when they came out. I had at least 12 pairs of them and they got me through multiple marathons, several half Ironmen and a full Ironman and then they were discontinued. I wandered in the running shoe dessert until these shoes came out. I LOVE the v14. They remind me of the early 890's. They're light and versatile. Very comfortable and able to handle long training runs while not feeling overly cushy or heavy. Two thumbs way up on these shoes.

Replacement for Hoka Bondi 7My Hoka Bondi 7s were wearing out. I tried the Bondi 8s and did not like them at all. Tried a number of other shoes and was discouraged until finding these NB 880s. Although not quite as cushioned as the Hokas, they are very comfortable, and I now think the Hokas have a bit too much cushioning. Most of the NB colors are not great, but I really like the blue oasis.

No-nonsense Daily TrainerNo superfoam. No fancy tech. Just a very good dependable daily trainer. Purchased the 880v14 in 2 different colors. The outsole rubber is thick so I expect it to be durable. 880v13 did not have a gusseted tongue, so I'm pleasantly surprised that 880v14 added a gusset.

Tapered toeboxI wanted to love these, but they come to too much of a point in the toe box. I understand they're not barefoot shoes, but they don't need to be so pointed. Even the wide width tapers too much. I don't have Flintstone feet, but I also don't want bunions, and this type of taper puts too my pressure on my big toe. They were very comfortable if not for the dealbreaker taper.

Soft as a cloudOkay, I ran in them, got home and changed into an older pair. The new ones, 880v14's, felt like walking on a cloud. I have wide feet, 11.5E. The shoe offers plenty of toe box room. It is light enough to do a track workout too. I hardily recommend them to everyone that wants or needs a softer ride.

Great update,.No such thing as perfect, but when it comes to running shoes. perfect. 880 version 12 and 13 not good. Version 14 are great a balance of proper cushion and fit. Best heel to toe transition I have experienced in a shoe in a long time. The other 880s were 10 mm. The change to 8mm is surprisingly smooth. 5 stars. You can train and run a marathon in these shoes.
