NNormal Tomir for Long Trail RunsI bought these because I liked the drop, the tread, and that they were designed by an ultrarunner. Also, Camper, the company that makes the shoes, are good and I have some of their casual shoes.
Overall, they're a pretty good shoe, but... my chief complaint is how the lacing system goes across the foot at an angle. That's unusual and the toe end of the lacing system tends to bunch up the surrounding shoe. I found it hard to get a really nice tight fit around my toes.
So much of shoe comfort is individual nuance, but I thought the cross lace system was overall a bit gimmicky and didn't do the performance any favors.

Possibly the best trail shoes on the marketI’ll preface this by saying that I was a diehard Hoka speedgoat wearer. It was the only shoe that worked for me in long distance ultras. After realizing the SG 6 absolutely sucked, I decided to try these. Needless to say, I don’t think I will be going back to the SGs after wearing the Tomir 2. These shoes can handle any distance on the trails. Very comfortable and stable under foot. I have about 60 trail miles on these so far and there are no signs of wear, even on the vibram outsole. Form to your foot through the midfoot with plenty of room in the toe box (I have slightly wider feet). Traction is unreal. Lacing stays locked in with a comfortable tongues. I plan on using these for my training block for the Cocodona 250, as well as for the race. I’d highly recommend these to any trail runner, and it was a great transition from the Speed Goats.

Great all-around shoe for any terrain.This shoe is a really nice all-around trail shoe. I think if I could only have 1 trail shoe, I would be hard-pressed to go with anything else.
The fit is very comfortable. I am a 10.5 US and I found it to be pretty TTS. It is roomy for me in the forefoot, maybe a touch long. So depending on what you plan to do in this shoe, you could size down a half size. I like TTS for general trail running.
The upper is made out of a nice "dyneema" type material. It's very rigid and stable. It is not going to stretch at all, so make note of that. Its very abrasion resistant, which I was able to put to the test when navigating boulder fields and scrambling. It is not the most breathable upper in the game, but I find it is a nice balance to have the protection and durability.
Midsole is nice. it's not a bouncy supercritical but it is very accommodating. I would run 100 miles in this shoe. The stack height is tall enough to provide rock protection but low enough to the ground to afford some stability when navigating technical terrain.
The outsole is incredible, as you'd expect from a Vibram megagrip. I felt very confident navigating all sorts of technical terrain, even on class 3 and some class 4. Something to note is the shoe's "larger" stack height and accomodating fit -- it is my main gripe if you were going to use this for a lot of class 4. It's going to be overkill for smooth trail and road running, but I think I'd rather be on the aggressive side than not have enough when I really need it.
Lacing was my only complaint as the laces don't have much of a good hold. I found it difficult to get them to stay where I left them.

NEEDS CUSHIONINGAfter using it for more than 100k I can say that like all footwear it has its pros and cons.
PROS
- Traction: allows you to feel safe on descents, which is very important for running at low speeds
- Reactivity: It has a lot of reactivity but I hope it lasts for hundreds more kms, since most shoes have good reactivity but lose it after 400k
- Weight: the fact that it is a lightweight shoe definitely helps a lot for long distance races where the legs no longer respond as they do in the first few kilometers
CONS
- CUSHIONING: I read many reviews about this shoe before buying it and they all said it had excellent cushioning, honestly I didn't feel that way, I weigh 85kg and the truth is that I didn't feel good cushioning like they said they had,
- PROTECTION AGAINST STONES: something that really bothered me was that the shoes let in a lot of stones or sand, and I had to take them off constantly to clean them and thus avoid blisters from rubbing inside my shoes, it was really annoying. I think it's Nnormal that I would have to work on a gaiter to prevent stones or sand from getting inside the shoes.
I can't say if the Tommir 2 is better than the 1 because I haven't tried it, but I can say that the Tommir 2 is a good shoe, maybe not the best on the market, but which one is better? I really think that there is no such thing as the best shoe, because it depends on many factors. For example, maybe the T02 is a wonderful shoe in rainy conditions (I haven't tried it yet) so I changed my opinion today about it, but it didn't really allow me to run comfortably because of the problem I had with stones getting inside my shoes, and it also didn't allow me to run fast paces.

Stay AwayThese are the WORST shoes I have worn in 20 years of mountain recreation. I ended up with an injury to my Achilles and ATFL as a result of their construction and had to abort my 220 mile run at 140 miles.
Pros:

- Heel has an aggressive and firm lip that rubs at Achilles tendon
- Does not ventilate, hello trench foot
- tongue, padding is nice but it does not stay put and tongue bunches creating unequal pressure over top of foot

Solid all arounderLove the Tomir 2, it has a voluminous toe box and snug mid foot. The ride is responsive and nimble, after about 20 miles the foam softens up and the lockdown gets more precise

Great ups/downs, a little mush on flatsI am mostly very happy with this shoe. It's got a great feel on technical descents and ascents. The cushion is strong but forgiving and the grip keeps you confident even on loose gravel. My downsides are the toebox is narrow; I can't use these day after day but only for specific trail runs so I don't damage my toenails. The other complaint is they feel blah on the flats. Nothing bad, but nothing inspiring like you'd get in a carbon footplate.

Great all around trail runnerI love these shoes. They're a little more shoe than I usually like on the trail, but the ride is just so good that I don't mind. I did a little 4 mile run and then the next run was 32 miles in the rain. No issues at. The midfoot and heel feel locked down to me with good volume in the toe box. Super grippy with nice transition. All of that plus the 2 year manufacturer warranty easily justified the price for me. Great show!

Fantastic Update to a True WorkhorseThe initial model of the Tomir was a good shoe, but a bit firm and unforgiving. With the new midsole, it allows the V2 to become a monster of a shoe, with ample comfort, protection, and durability without being overly heavy. As of now, I have approximately 50 miles on them, and they feel better each time. I would expect them to last 750+ miles, and I am 6ft 215+ pound runner. Buy this shoe!

Great traction and all around solid shoe.Traction and cushion are fantastic. Fit is so close to being dialed. Biggest issue is the stitching that goes around the entire shoe. I can feel it occasionally and seems like it isn't 100% necessary. Regardless one of the better built trail shoes out there.

Solid north east trail shoe.The midsole of this shoe is fantastic. I think they do have a break in period of 30-40 miles. I expect they will last close to 750 for me. I don't think about the fit at all after they are on which is the best fit for me ususally. I also run in nike and hoka. I chose these over them for a 100 miler. A solid no frills shoe.

Nnormal has become my new normal.I'll start this by saying I have a large stable of trail shoes at any given time. My wife likes to remind me I don't need another pair, but I'm always looking for the perfect shoe for every occasion. Current rotation includes but not limited to...Speedland GS:PGH, Norda 001, Salomon S/Lab Genesis, Inov8 G300, and now the Nnormal Tomir 2.
In less than a month I have over 100 miles of trail in the Tomir. Muddy, wet, rocky, rooty, Pennsylvania Appalachian Trail miles, not buffed out dirt and pine needle or gravel bike path. Lots of vert. They quickly became my go-to surpassing the Speedlands for pretty much every run. Comfort is top notch, grip is incredible, and the cushion and protection is more than I need or am used to. The shoes seem bomb proof at this point. Drain well enough that I don't shy from running straight through deep water or mud and I have no issues on wet rocks or logs. The laces are incredibly well designed and might be the most comfortable minimalist tongue on a shoe I've tried.
So far worth every penny and I'll likely get another pair when these finally reach the end of their life, whenever that may be.

Upgrade 2.0!The Tomir 1s were a bit flat and stiff to me. I put over 1000 miles of trails on the original Tomir 1s about 300-400 more than my typical Hoka or Altras. I was reluctant to buy the Tomir 2s until I read about the new springy midsole foam. It took forever to break in the 1s however the Tomir 2s felt great right out of the box and I currently have 200 miles on the Tomir 2s and not a single issue or complaint. I love them and have become a big NNORMAL fan.

Amazing!These things rule! Only one run so far, but immediately in love. (17 miles and 5500' vert. Lots of snow up high).
Upper: Stiff at first, but softened nicely. I was a little worried about the upper pushing into the tops of my toes on the uphill, but this proved to be a non-issue. The upper also dried extremely quickly. Toe bumper is great.
Midsole: Firm and protective feeling with a subtle but noticeable energy return on firm ground. Worked well on fire road and 'technical' terrain. Feels how I wanted the Kjerag to feel, those extra mm make a big difference!
Outsole: Vibram with big lugs. Works great.
Sizing: I went with my usual 9.5. A little extra space in the front, but fits well through the arch. Plenty wide without feeling sloppy (I usually buy EE shoes if available). Similar fit to Topo Mtn Racer 2.
Like the other reviewer said, the shoe wants to go long. I also think they are light enough to go pretty fast too. If I could only wear one shoe, this would probably be the one. I also think this could become popular with the thru-hiking scene.

Great Shoe! Reminds me of Xodus UltraUpper is a little stiff at first but breaks in after 20-25 miles fine. Traction is incredible. I’m in PNW and mud, wet roots, loose rocks, and steep trails were no problem. Midfoot was secure on steep descents and is forming to my foot nicely. I would say to size down a half size tho. Not necessary but It does run a little long imho.
Ride is similar to a Saucony Xodus ultra 1 which was one of my faves. Very Comfortable but not pillowy. Adequate ground feel. I’d say the only downside is that the new upper does not drain very well after submersion.
Second run in the shoe was 18 miles with 4500’ of vert and this shoe wanted to go all day. Not sure I’d want to run tempo in it but she’s a cruiser.
