All Women's Road Shoes

  • Daily TrainersDaily Trainers

The baseline definition of a running shoe. Daily Trainers lean on time-proven designs, technologies and features for dependable cushioning, support and comfort. They're a staple in every runner's closet, and if you are new to running shoes, then you should start your journey here.

  • Performance TrainersPerformance Trainers

Performance Trainers provide a springy feel and make longer runs easier and faster runs faster. While quicker than Daily Trainers, Performance Trainers are not nearly as fast as Super Shoes. Due to a focus on keeping things light weight, Performance Trainers are less durable than Daily Trainers. These can also be a good option for one's first race shoe.

  • Super ShoesSuper Shoes

Super Shoes are the fastest running shoes you can buy. They are designed to race your absolute best and represent the pinnacle of running shoe technology and innovation. They have the highest energy return foams and plates for new levels of performance. Low durability, but maximum speed is the name of the game here.

Men's Running Shoes by Surface

  • Roads & PavementRoads & Pavement

Road running shoes feature smooth outsoles that are designed for running on paved surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, and bike paths.

  • Smooth Trails & FireroadsSmooth Trails & Fireroads

Designed to handle most trail runs, these shoes prioritize comfort and a smooth ride. These shoes are great for anything from smooth singletrack, park trails, and fireroads making them ideal for those who run from their doorstep on streets before hitting the trail.

  • Rocky & Technical TrailsRocky & Technical Trails

These shoes are best used for hard, rugged trails such as shale, granite or sandstone where grip on smooth surfaces and underfoot protection are important.

  • Soft & Muddy TrailsSoft & Muddy Trails

Designed for use in muddy, soggy conditions, these shoes feature very aggressive outsoles that dig deep into soft ground for exceptional traction.

  • Snowy & Icy TrailsSnowy & Icy Trails

These shoes feature technical outsoles designed to grip snowy and icy trails making them ideal for winter trail running.

Cushioning Level

  • Cushioning level, or stack height, refers to how much shoe is between your foot and the ground. For this category, we reference the amount of cushioning below the forefoot as the heel height will be equal to or greater than the forefoot height.
Learn more about stack heights and how we measure them.

  • Barefoot

0-13mm. The Shoe generally does not have a midsole and feels like there is no cushioning. This shoe is all about feeling the ground underfoot.

  • Minimal

14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.

  • Low

19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.

  • Medium

24-28mm. These shoes have a stack height that fall near the middle of the spectrum. The shoes in this category are verstaile and great for all types of runs and distances.

  • High

29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.

  • Maximal

35mm plus. The shoe has an extremely thick midsole and extra cushioning. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel.

Stability Level

  • Neutral

Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have a built-in technology to correct movement.

  • Stable

Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.

Product Details:

In a world where racing shoes are getting taller and taller, the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer v2 stands out as a super shoe that offers a more connected-to-the-road running experience. Best suited for 5K to 10K races, it can also serve as a marathon shoe for those who prefer less cushioning or a more traditional feel. Upgraded to deliver a more explosive energy return, the Pacer v2 boasts a new 100% PEBA FuelCell foam composition and added stack height while maintaining its lightweight, low-to-the-ground profile. The foam is paired with the same bowed carbon fiber plate featured in the SuperComp Elite v4, optimizing New Balance's Energy Arc plate technology to provide a snappy and efficient ride that will have you pushing your fastest paces.

The Pacer's sleek, single-layer engineered mesh upper has been strategically designed to keep weight to a minimum while offering a secure, race-ready fit that will keep you comfortable from start to finish. Completing the shoe is a rubber outsole with aggressive forefoot coverage for a snappy finish. Refined to deliver its fastest, smoothest ride yet, the New Balance FuelCell SuperComp Pacer v2 is a great option for racers looking for super shoe technology in a low-to-the-ground package.

How We Measure Our Shoe Specs

  • We measure every shoe in-house to provide accurate and consistent details.

  • Weight

The weight is based on a Men's size 9 for Men's and Unisex shoes or Women's size 8 for Women's shoes. The weight listed is for a single shoe, including the laces.

  • Heel Stack

The heel stack refers to how high your heel sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Forefoot Stack

Forefoot stack refers to how high the ball of the foot sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Heel-toe Offset

Heel-toe offset (drop) is the difference in height between the heel stack and the forefoot stack. We use the number given to us by the brand.

How We Measure Shoe Fit

  • All measurements are based on Medium width.

  • Fit (width) options are Narrow - Snug - Average - Roomy - Wide.

  • Sizing (length) options are Short - True - Long. Note: fit is relative to the "average" running shoe.

  • We partner with SmartLast, a program by Heeluxe, to use advanced shoe-measuring technology, to provide objective measurements for toe box, midfoot, and heel widths as well as overall length.

First pair of New Balance I’ve ever ownedI’ve now done one speed work out in them plus a 5k race and a 4 mile race. I love this shoe. They are light weight, carbon plate and foam seem to work fantastic. This is the first pair of New Balance shoes I’ve ever owned and love them.

Nice shoe, but too softI like a lower stack height shoe for interval workouts and shorter races and this seemed like the perfect option. I previously used the adidas takumi sen for those occasions. The fit and comfortability of this shoe is much better but the foam is just way too soft for me. I also feel like it could be lighter for a lower stack option. If super soft is your thing then these will probably work for you.

A little overratedAll the stats on this shoe, the price point, and good things I heard from other runners about them led me to believe they would be great shoes. After doing a single 5-mile tempo run in them, I had enough data to know that they weren't for me: - Heel tab/counter cut into my achilles area and I developed a large blister within a couple miles, even with reasonably protective socks - Insole has all those little holes to cut weight, but ended up blistering the bottom of my foot and leaving marks as well - I knew they were advertised as slightly less than "max cushion" compared to other super shoes, but they felt a little too much like normal flats for me. Couldn't imagine running a marathon in them.

Not a marathon shoe, but a solid racerThe NB Fuel Cell Super Comp Pacer V2 is not a marathon shoe. It wasn't really intended to be, so that's fine. I've owned numerous pair of Fuel Cell Rebel, in V2, V3, V4 as well as the original Fuel Cell Racers and Trainers. The fit of the new Pacer 2 is far superior to the original Fuel Cell Super Comp Trainer. The carbon plate offers sufficient propulsion, however the Fuel Cell foam stack is not as tall as the SuperComp Racer, and thus, I wouldn't use it for marathons, as you will not get as much energy returned via the midsole as other plated racers. That's not to say it isn't cushioned. It's as well cushioned as a good 5k/10k plated shoe needs to be without adding extra, and offers a reasonably soft ride. Fuel Cell is excellent foam material with tremendous cushioning and energy-returning properties. But since they aren't designed to go marathon distance, I would limit the usage to half-marathon and below distances to fully enjoy the benefits of this lighter weight shoe.

nice shoeMy first NB shoe in 40 years. Nice roomy toe box, comfy upper. more responsive than super shoes with high stack, but maybe just a half marathon shoe. I was impressed.

A mini-Vaporfly—but size upI’ve raced in many of the modern supershoes, and the Pacer v2 is the closest I’ve found to a lower-stacked Vaporfly: compressive, bouncy, and efficient. Heads up, though: even for a racing fit, it runs about 1/4 size small.

Amazing shoes, but beware of blistersFirst off, I absolutely love the color and design of this shoe. One of the coolest looking shoes on the market. Runs a little snug, I wear a mens 11 in the rebel v4, sc elite v4, and sc trainer v3, but I got an 11.5 in these due to the reviews I read/watched and glad I did, I don’t think I would have had any room between my toes and the end of the shoe if I got these in an 11. I was concerned the drop was higher than the other NB shoes I have in my rotation (all are 6mm or less) at 8mm in the pacer v2, generally I tend to get hip problems in shoes with more than 6mm drop, but I was fine in these, they feel more like a 4-5mm drop on foot. These felt fast for me even as a “slower” runner (easy pace ~10-11min / mile, marathon pace ~9-9:30min / mile, 5k pace ~7-7:30min /mile). They are very comfortable and breathable, great pop, responsiveness, and turnover. I never ran more than 5-8mi per run in these and only totaled about 12-16mi total before returning The only reason I can’t give these shoes a 5/5 and the reason I returned them is because they rub badly against the Achilles and caused blisters on my first run, and the second run I put some moleskin on but still got a hotspot. The heel counter seems to be angled forward or something. I guess to add to its more aggressive design. I don’t often get blisters or shoes that don’t agree with me but unfortunately it was bad enough I had to return them. I think these will work well for a lot of people, but for me the heel causing blisters was a deal breaker.

PacerIf you loved the 1400, it feels similar but with a plate (and a little more cushion). Fast and comfortable

What the SC elite should have beenI love this shoe. The fit and the drop. I’ve been a fuel cel fan since the model before the Rebel. I don’t like the Rebel 4 and I have mixed feelings about the SC elite V4. Don’t like the Rebel 4 because the fuel cel combo feels dead to me. Mixed about the Elite 4 because I love the pebax fuel cell, but can’t get the shoe to fit correctly. Heel area puckers out and the shoe on the top of my feet hurts. Had to make up some weird lacing pattern….but then that leaves the 4mm drop, which sometimes bothers my calves. Pacer is prefect. Has the Pebax, fits better, and not 4mm drop. Not sure if I can take it the full marathon but enjoy tempo runs.

Supercomp Pacer v2 AmazingI got the new Supercomp Pacer v2 and tested it out in a 17.11 mile run and I was amazed on the light weight feel and how well it respond each mile. The most amazing response from the shoe came as I ran up hill for about 600 meters, in the past with other shoes my pace slowed down about 30-35 seconds, but in the Supercomp Pacer v2 I lost about 6 seconds which I was surprised. Still debating if I would run in this shoe for a full marathon as I have the Supercomp Elite v4 and love the extra cushion on that shoe, but the pacer I could definitely race any distance from a 5k to the half marathon.
