Overview
Now offering 300 lumens of brightness, the lightweight and compact Petzl Tikkina Headlamp just got a little more powerful. The efficient brightness settings make this headlamp ideal for urban running or trails in low-light conditions. A single push button on top of the Tikkina lets you select between proximity and distance settings, depending on whether you need to see close at hand or further down the road.
The HYBRID CONCEPT design allows for the use of either 3 AAA batteries (included) or the rechargeable CORE battery. As an added benefit, this headlamp has a water-resistant rating to protect it from light rain or splashes.

BUYING 1 WAS A MISTAKEI have never owned a headlamp, so this was my first. I honestly normally run with a flashlight just fine. However, in the winter months I struggle turning my light on with my gloves so I snagged one of these Petzl Headlamps. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a headlamp incase I hated it. However, after my first run... I was in love.
Love the 3 light settings and how it tilts to angle perfectly in front of you to see where you're stepping. I didn't bother getting a rechargeable battery at the time in case I hated it. I've had the same batteries in it since I bought in late November and haven't had any issues yet with batteries dying! I will add I use it conservatively when running. I don't have it on all the time. Super huge pro on run time, and life span thus far.
I've used this headlamp for house projects, grilling steaks at night in the dark, and so many other things I ever thought I would after purchasing. Overall it's just a solid light!
The only con I have for this headlamp that I've experienced was when I ran on a foggy morning. The light wasn't really doing much for me if I'm being honest so I ended up just running in the dark and hoping for the best. The light hitting the fog in front of me just looked like a wall of solid mist coming at me, and made it so much harder to see with it than without it. I will say that I don't really think it would have mattered what headlamp you had on from any brand, they all would have had the same issue in that intense of a fog.
All in all... 10/10 will probably buy a few to have around the house!

Smart buyI bought this to use as a backup light. Turns out that I usually grab this one first. Great headband that does not slide down my forehead.
