If you're running with small essential items, the Chaser has the storage you need. For convenience, the shorts have two small pockets in the inner liner and a secure zipper pocket on the back. My smartphone did not fit in the zipper pocket, but I tend not to store items on my back to avoid any bounce when running. I did like the bungee loop for securing keys, which one of the smaller internal pockets had."
