All Women's Road Shoes

  • Daily TrainersDaily Trainers

The baseline definition of a running shoe. Daily Trainers lean on time-proven designs, technologies and features for dependable cushioning, support and comfort. They're a staple in every runner's closet, and if you are new to running shoes, then you should start your journey here.

  • Performance TrainersPerformance Trainers

Performance Trainers provide a springy feel and make longer runs easier and faster runs faster. While quicker than Daily Trainers, Performance Trainers are not nearly as fast as Super Shoes. Due to a focus on keeping things light weight, Performance Trainers are less durable than Daily Trainers. These can also be a good option for one's first race shoe.

  • Super ShoesSuper Shoes

Super Shoes are the fastest running shoes you can buy. They are designed to race your absolute best and represent the pinnacle of running shoe technology and innovation. They have the highest energy return foams and plates for new levels of performance. Low durability, but maximum speed is the name of the game here.

Men's Running Shoes by Surface

  • Roads & PavementRoads & Pavement

Road running shoes feature smooth outsoles that are designed for running on paved surfaces such as roads, sidewalks, and bike paths.

  • Smooth Trails & FireroadsSmooth Trails & Fireroads

Designed to handle most trail runs, these shoes prioritize comfort and a smooth ride. These shoes are great for anything from smooth singletrack, park trails, and fireroads making them ideal for those who run from their doorstep on streets before hitting the trail.

  • Rocky & Technical TrailsRocky & Technical Trails

These shoes are best used for hard, rugged trails such as shale, granite or sandstone where grip on smooth surfaces and underfoot protection are important.

  • Soft & Muddy TrailsSoft & Muddy Trails

Designed for use in muddy, soggy conditions, these shoes feature very aggressive outsoles that dig deep into soft ground for exceptional traction.

  • Snowy & Icy TrailsSnowy & Icy Trails

These shoes feature technical outsoles designed to grip snowy and icy trails making them ideal for winter trail running.

Cushioning Level

  • Cushioning level, or stack height, refers to how much shoe is between your foot and the ground. For this category, we reference the amount of cushioning below the forefoot as the heel height will be equal to or greater than the forefoot height.
Learn more about stack heights and how we measure them.

  • Barefoot

0-13mm. The Shoe generally does not have a midsole and feels like there is no cushioning. This shoe is all about feeling the ground underfoot.

  • Minimal

14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.

  • Low

19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.

  • Medium

24-28mm. These shoes have a stack height that fall near the middle of the spectrum. The shoes in this category are verstaile and great for all types of runs and distances.

  • High

29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.

  • Maximal

35mm plus. The shoe has an extremely thick midsole and extra cushioning. The focus is on protection and soft foam underfoot with hardly any ground feel.

Stability Level

  • Neutral

Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have a built-in technology to correct movement.

  • Stable

Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.

Product Details:

How We Measure Our Shoe Specs

  • We measure every shoe in-house to provide accurate and consistent details.

  • Weight

The weight is based on a Men's size 9 for Men's and Unisex shoes or Women's size 8 for Women's shoes. The weight listed is for a single shoe, including the laces.

  • Heel Stack

The heel stack refers to how high your heel sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Forefoot Stack

Forefoot stack refers to how high the ball of the foot sits above the ground when wearing shoes. Based on Men's size 9 as the standard.

  • Heel-toe Offset

Heel-toe offset (drop) is the difference in height between the heel stack and the forefoot stack. We use the number given to us by the brand.

How We Measure Shoe Fit

  • All measurements are based on Medium width.

  • Fit (width) options are Narrow - Snug - Average - Roomy - Wide.

  • Sizing (length) options are Short - True - Long. Note: fit is relative to the "average" running shoe.

  • We partner with SmartLast, a program by Heeluxe, to use advanced shoe-measuring technology, to provide objective measurements for toe box, midfoot, and heel widths as well as overall length.

Great shoe for slower, recovery runsI'm not a super long distance runner, more in the half marathon or less, and was looking for a shoe that was stable and got good energy return and this was worth it for that purpose. Runs just a bit narrow for me so half size up was good. The insole is problematic as I've seen on other reviews because the arch support is way too aggressive and really digs into my mid foot, but easily solved by putting my custom ones. You may have better experience on it but will really vary on your feet. I'm a forefoot/mid foot striker and I found this to be great for that, using my own orthotics. Took it to a quick 6 mile out the box with slow and fast tempos mixed in and it felt comfortable right off the bat. I wouldn't suggest this for speed or high tempo runs but if needed it can definitely do it. The weight is just fine for me, it's light enough but nothing like any of the high end super shoes like Nikes I've had. If you want a good cheap shoe that feels great to run in especially if you need more support, then this works fine. This shoe shines more when you want longer distance and comfort, not speed. Great as a 2nd shoe if you like have different shoes for different types of runs like I do.

Worth a try! This is a great shoe. If you have doubts because you associate the name with discount leisure shoes, get over it! I tried the Max Road 5, and mostly really liked the shoe. My only complaint was that I wore through the tread before putting 400 miles on the shoes. They still felt fresh at 400 miles when I retired them. I just bought the Max Road 6, and I only have a couple runs on them, but so far I really like this shoe. Sketcher's beefed up the tread a little, and the shoe is really comfortable and well cushioned. I am amazed at how good this shoe feels and how great the cushioning is. I've been a lifelong runner (high school, D1 collegiate, middle-aged has been, high school XC and track coach) and am still plugging away at 52 years old. I need a more cushioned shoe to keep my knees feeling good, and this shoe fits the bill.

Next levelI was already a big fan of this line (having owned multiple pairs of every max road Skechers has rolled out). They kept and improved upon what made this line great. Then took it next level when they added more (2 types) hyper burst. What I love about the new model is the outsole. It will def make this amazing shoe more durable. Skechers max road series is hands down the best shoe in the max cushioned game right now!

Not for meAt first, when you put your foot into the new sketcher, go run max six it feels very soft and a little on the short side. After walking in the shoes for three hours, my arch felt like it had hard ball under my arch. The pain from the shoe has bruised my arches. I really did not expect that to happen. Sketchers is usually a pretty good shoe. I wouldn’t recommend the shoe but everyone’s foot is different.

Maz Road 6 - DeliversGreat to see that the Max Road 6 version has redeemed the issues I had with versions 4 and 5. It for me is a completely different shoe. The mid-sole material and fit are the big improvements. Pro's: - The mid sole material - the hyperburst ice midsole is fantastic! It is very much like the material used in the sketchers Go Run Ride 10. This material is my personal choice for top mid-sole materials being used today. It is very comfortable, you do have some road feel and it gives plenty of bounce helping me run longer. If you have run in the Go Run Ride 10's, NB Fuel Cell Rebel 3's, or the Puma Deviate Nitro's, then the feel of this material will be very familiar. It is a fantastic material and a lot of it. - Fit - This was the biggest issue I had with previous versions of this shoe, in the previous versions especially version 4, the fit was way to tight causing foot pain and almost unusable to me. Sketchers has done a great job using an upper material that is stretchy and roomy and does not require break in. - Ride - Best part of all, this is a fun shoe! It provides ample comfort and energy return. With max cushion shoes, it has been very difficult finding a material that is not to squishy (like the NB Fresh Foam More version 4) or not to firm (like the Topo Specter). Dont get me wrong, the NB More and Topo Specter are also fantastic shoes, but the Max Road 6's nails the balance. - Cost - RELATIVELY speaking, and I emphasize relatively, this shoe delivers a lot more and is less expensive than lots of other max cushion shoes that I think are not nearly as good (Hoka Bondi for example). Cons: - The ArchFit design - Like the Sketchers Go Run Ride 10, this shoe uses what sketchers calls the ArchFit insole design. Apparantly, this is a design choice made based on in depth research for improvement on support and prevention of issues. I am having a hard time with that claim because for me, it ads a pressure point in the arch of my foot that is not painful, but noticeable and does not feel quite right. It almost feels like a 3rd party insole that doesnt quite fit the inside of the shoe properly. In the Go Run Ride 10 shoes (which I also love), the more I ran in the shoe then the more that feeling went away. But that is the only mild issue I have with this shoe. Overall, it is excellent and if possible, I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. Neither a Pro or a Con, it just is: - Regarding fit, this shoe feels great, but the shoe runs long, so I think that I would go a half size down.
