Exactly what you expectSizing is spot on with other TOPO shoes, toe box is wide but not clownlike. I wear them for lifting and even at work some days. There's not a lot of cushion, so don't expect a Bondi, that's not what this is, its a good shoe for lifting, general training, and walking around. I can't speak to the running comfort, I haven't tried running in these shoes and don't intend to (that's what the cyclone 2 is for). If you're on the fence, get them

Perfect TrainerI have been a long time distance runner and worn all types of shoes - road and trail.
I love Topo because they have 0 drop options, a wide toe-box and good styling. I use these for winter treadmill running (I use a TrueForm) and indoor lifting.

Gem out of the gymGot this after falling out of love with the Altra Superior line. I run on and off pavement. I did a 50k trail run in these street shoes with over 200 miles on them, and I am still rocking them a year later. Zero quality issues. Probably the best minimalist shoe I have owned. The new model looks better to me. I had the white soled penguin version before it. Thanks, Topo.

Amazing daily driverI had to leave a review after seeing a couple of others report this shoe feels cheap. I understand what they are saying because so many shoes are "overbuilt" nowadays. This leads to stiff shoes that over-control your stride and cause injury. Major kudos to Topo for engineering a shoe that's super flexible and ready to rock right out of the box, requiring no break-in period.
Will they last long? Maybe not, but I'll take this style shoe over a stiff one any day.
I've run in these multiple times and while they feel amazing there is little energy return. They are so incredibly comfortable I ended up wearing them as my daily shoes instead of running.
I sized down a half-size and it's perfect.
If I had one complaint it's that the ankle cutout is located too far back, but I don't feel it.

It feels very cheapIt's hard to describe but it feels almost like a little plasticy and cheap. I feel like I could rip it. However, it's held up pretty well but I wouldn't log a ton of miles in this shoe.

Good Do-it-all ShoeWell designed running shoe that also is a good gym shoe, trail-running shoe, walking shoe, etc. Very comfortable with the wide toe box and slightly extra width in the forefoot. Durable. Breathable. Zero drop which is ideal for runners like me .
Great Specs - Bad ExecutionI found these shoes while looking for a replacement for the Kinvara I have worn for years. The Kinvara line decided to go the maximalist me too route. The Topo met all the requirements I had - wide toe box, low stack, and minimal drop. I have ran 3 times in these shoes and they just don't feel like a premium quality shoe. I would compare the feel to the old Van's shoes but with a wider toe box. They cost too much to feel this cheap.
