My current favorite handheld!I really like the Ultimate Direction Clutch; after experimenting for a few years with other options from Camelbak and Nathan, it's currently my favorite handheld. It weighs a total of 85g (3oz) -- 50g (1.75oz) for the 17oz (500mL) bottle itself and 35g (1.25oz) for the holster -- when empty. The strap is easily-adjustable velcro, and it has a thumb hole so you can hold the flask without needing to actively grip it. The pocket can fit 1-2 Gu gels comfortably, but it stretches enough to hold 3-4 if you stuff them in there.
If you do get it, I'd recommend redoing the knots on the retention bungee cords to tighten them a bit. I find that doing so helps the flask stay in place better as you drink out of it.
UD uses a push/pull valve on their soft flasks in addition to a silicone bite valve, which can be nice to reduce the risk of leaks when transporting them. I don't think UD actually explains that on the packaging, which appears to have confused at least a few people from other reviews that I've seen. If you don't want to deal with the push/pull step when running, the bite valve seals well enough on its own that it doesn't leak.
