Product Details:

The adidas adizero Boston 12 is a high-performance daily trainer that has been upgraded to offer a more comfortable and faster ride. The highlight of the Boston 12 is found in the midsole where we see a carefully crafted setup that increases both the shoe's softness and speed. The top layer is made of Lightstrike Pro, which is the brand's lightest and softest foam, while the frame is made of the slightly denser Lightstrike 2.0 foam that helps to maintain a stable and smooth ride at any speed. Sandwiched between the two layers is the ENERGYRODS 2.0 system, which is a carbon fiber piece that is split into rods, which work with the foams to provide a snappy and energetic toe-off while allowing for flexible foot movement.

The outsole of the Boston 12 is equipped with strategically placed layers of lightweight Continental rubber that provide reliable traction in any weather condition, and in the upper, an ultra-lightweight recycled mesh provides the structure needed for longer efforts while remaining highly breathable to keep your feet comfortable with every mile.

Overall, the adidas adizero Boston 12 delivers a highly responsive and energetic ride that works well for both uptempo training and daily runs. With its comfortable and fast ride, this shoe is an excellent choice for anyone looking to take their running to the next level.

Great if you have wide feetNot great if you have medium to narrow feet as they simply don't fit my medium width feet no matter what socks I wear. They are much less cushioned than the new adios adizero pro 4. Hopefully they use the same kind of foam in the Boston 13 and make them less wide.

Similar to the 10'sI wear a size 8, I go back and forth if I should have exchanged for a half size smaller or not. With thin socks the size 8 feels slightly too big. However, it is manageable. I use these for my long runs and the shoes work great when I want to include fast miles. On long runs the shoe still has great return.

Love the shoe, but maybe not the sizingFirst the good, it’s a really nice feeling shoe! I love the way the foam feels and it’s a good shoe for everything from short to long runs. I am hoping the Continental rubber will be more durable than my last shoe (Hoka Mach X2) which felt great but wore out way too soon. The sizing is loose in this shoe, I would say maybe a quarter size bigger than expected? I am using my usual size with a heel lock lacing but am now thinking I should have tried a half size smaller. If you get a good fit then it’s a 5 star shoe.

Good daily trainerDependable daily trainer. The plate doesn't make much difference other than stability for my easy runs (~5:30 min/km), but it kicks in during tempo training (3:30 to 4:30 min/km) where I feel good return of power short after lift-off of the foot. Two things of note: (1) My normal size (10.5) was way too large, not only in length, but in width, so I went half a size down. (2) Even at size 10, the toebox is a tad too roomy for my taste. Overall, the shoe (compared to the Adizero SL2 or the Adizero Adios Pro 3) is very wide in the forefoot. Overall, I would recommend the Boston 12 for training and race preparation.

Excellent all around shoeThe Boston 12 is an excellent all around shoe for training, fast intervals and also racing. The cushioning is very good: provides great protection without being too soft. The carbon rods provide stability without sacrificing cushioning.

Thoroughly Impressed! The adidas Adizero Boston 12 is a ightweight, responsive, and comfortable shoe. The shoe's upper provides exceptional breathability without sacrificing support. The dual-density midsole offers a perfect blend of cushioning and responsiveness. The Continental rubber outsole ensures unwavering traction, even on wet or slippery surfaces. But what truly sets the Boston 12 apart is its incredible speed. The EnergyRODS technology provides a propulsive feel that's simply addictive. I found myself effortlessly pushing my pace and setting new personal records. t's a shoe that will inspire you to push your limits and achieve your running goals.

Great All round but Needs time to break inI found the Shoes amazing, the Rods are subtle but you can definitely feel them at faster paces. I use these as my XC race shoes for 3k-5k as well as I raced a half marathon and 10k getting PR's in all races. I had a really bad first impression with slower runs but they needed around 20-30 miles to break in and now they're my go to for any pace. The fit is great sometimes a little hard to get on your foot and the laces are a little short but other than that I would buy many more pairs.

Huge improvement, and yes, runs largeEverything about the Boston 12 is vastly better than the two models before it, from the softer Lightstrike 2.0 to the more supportive upper. I’ve been using it for marathon training with great results. As several here have observed, the shoe indeed runs 1/2 size large.

The Trainer I’ve Been Looking ForThe Boston 12 is probably my favorite trainer ever. I can use it for any workout or going easy. If you’re looking for a marathon race shoe on a budget - not willing or able to spend $250 on the Adios Pro - I would highly recommend these. I really like this pairing with the Takumi Sen line which I use for races between 5K and Half Marathon. Pros: bouncy, lively feel (not like all the dampening, dead max stack/max cushion trainers out there which are so trendy), durable (I can comfortably get 450 miles out of each pair and they still hold up well and feel good), versatile (can really go fast in these if you want to or cruise along at a comfortable pace for 15+ miles), stable/secure ride which helps me feel balanced Cons: none really. The people complaining about the laces are either lazy or dramatic. You really just have to figure it out once, and only loosen the top one or two eyelets slightly when you take off the shoe, and you’ll have the same lock-in feeling until you retire the shoe. I personally think these lock your feet in a lot more securely than Hoka, On etc.

adizero Boston 12I've run in nothing other than Hoka's, mostly Bondis, the past several years and have been extremely happy. However I just felt like changing it up and wanted to try something new. These adizero Boston 12s are awesome. Very lightweight but with lots of rubber on the sole for both durability and great traction when running on pavement. They remind me of my long lost favorite sneaker that got me hooked on running years ago which was a Hoka Stinson Lite (I think) that had a rubber sole and lasted forever. I'm 43 years old and just got clearance to run again after my 3rd major knee surgery, due to hockey, and the first run in these adizeros felt amazing.

Mixed feelingsPros: Very comfy, feels fast, feels lighter than it is. Overall, a great, responsive, plush ride, whether you're running long and easy, picking up the pace, or racing. Cons: Overpriced by $10-$20. Manufactured in China. Laces are weird; tend to come untied even if double-knotted. Upper is weird, too, in that it's a PITA to get on, particularly if you have a medium to high instep, but once you're in, it's incredibly comfortable. Midsole durability might be questionable, since it's actually just old-school EVA. May run long for some folks in the toe box.

Great and Fast ShoeI did 15 training sessions in these before a 5k race and absolutely loved them. You definitely want to go a half size down! That is the only reason I am rating them as four stars. They are a hard shoe, so if you have shin splints I would steer away from these. But I think they are comfortable and worth the price. The toe box is spacious ( which I love) and the they are springy. Good overall shoe!

Solid middle childBought this shoe as a workout shoe, but it can be used as a lightweight trainer as well. My advice is order a size of half size down. I got the 12’s which I normally wear and had to send them back for an 11. Treading is nice and I’ve found the shoe holds up well on road and rail trails.

Runs longI gave these 3 stars because I heard so many good things about the Boston 12 and really wanted to love this shoe, but I just couldn't get the sizing to work for me. I felt they ran very long in my usual size, but even as I sized down, the length was still too long. Once I sized down enough for them to not feel too long, they were too tight overall. I never got a chance to run in them because of this.

Not badAdidas running shoes never piqued my curiosity until the Boston 12. I was pleasantly surprised with an inaugural 5-miler. True to size, nicely cushioned and responsive. The ride is similar to that of the New Balance FuelCell Rebel and the Hoka Mach 6, IMO. Neither has a plate, and the Rebel is lighter and less expensive than the Boston 12. Nitpicking on the Boston, the laces tend to come untied if you don't double-knot them, and you have to snug up the laces a row at a time to get a secure-feeling midfoot fit. Other than that, and the fact that it's made in China, it's almost a 5-star running shoe.

Everything you need out of a trainer and moreThis was my second pair of shoes i have ever bought but so far I've put about 80 miles into the pair and there is no complaints! upper is very breathable with a roomy toe box and nothing digging into your heel, and the combination of Lightstrike 2.0 and lightstrike pro makes for a squishy landing and then pops you off the ground. And then the energy rods propel you forward for an easy ride. Not only that, the outsole is just like new after all the miles and still gives great traction on the turns! What i like about the Boston 12 is that it not only puts up with anything you throw at it but excels. easy 6 mile jog? makes it a breeze. all out 5k? With you every step. Half marathon and marathon? was built for it. Overall this pair gave me everything i wanted and more and i hope this review was insightful

Adizero Boston 12 First reviewTo start off I just got the Boston 12 and put them on for the first run and this is why its a 4 star not 5. First impressions were very lightweight especially for me because I've only been wearing max cushion shoes and were pretty aggressive even though they were still stiff since I haven't broke into them. The feel, roomy in the toe box but not too much and nice and tight around the mid foot. This is my first pair of Adidas shoes, and they are very different from any shoe I've ever worn. I also would 100% half size down for me I work amazingly

Shoes are awesomeI have always used the Boston as a daily trainer, and yes it has become a bit heavier since the beginning, however the technology used in the shoe absolutely makes up for it! You definitely feel the energy return in them with every stride, and on top of that these shoes are at a weight that will get you ready for race day. When you go from a 10 ounce shoe to a 7.7 ounce shoe in the Adios pros you will feel faster. This shoe also has good stability for heavier runners. I would recommend this shoe for anyone training for long distance races.

Finally, AdidasAt long last, Adidas realized their Boston previous revamp was failure... I loved the pre-10 Bostons, but so far (2 long runs and a couple of shorter ones) I like the 12s better. Feels like a big more cushion, while feeling firm and responsive, and the fit from heel to toe is great.

I see why there’s so much hypeI finally bought the Boston 12 when this color went on sale. Everyone kept telling me they were great and I kept seeing all it over the Internet. I was skeptical, but I love these shoes. I run about 35 miles per week right now and these are the ones I want to reach for no matter what run I am doing. My longest run in them has been 15 miles. They are snappy but cushioned somehow and my feet haven’t felt tired in them yet.

Patience Pays OffI've been waiting for Adidas to produce a legit daily trainer since the days of the Energy Boost 2 and the Boston 6. Finally my patience pays off with the Boston 12. I've put 400 miles on the first pair and they are holding up well so I've bought another pair. From long slower runs to fast tempos, this shoe works incredibly well. Adidas please don't change anything because I'm running out of money to pay for your failures. lol

Toes boxI usually wear size 10.5 but because of the wide toes box, I swapped them for a size 10. The plastic shoelaces eyelets made a blister on the left side of my small toe. I add a medical tape over that plastic. Now I enjoy a lot this shoes my knees and legs feel good for longs runs. I average 60-70 miles a week.

Very Good but could be betterI heard great things about this shoe, that it was excellent for tempos and longer runs. I’ve run over 50 miles in the Boston 12s and really enjoyed my runs in them so far. They are firm, but responsive. I want to rate them higher, but the quality of the upper is a big negative for me. They are by far the worst uppers I have in my rotation of shoes. The uppers are not soft, and they crease by the big toe joint which has caused minor rubbing on both of my big toes. I need to use a band aid on both toes to prevent the rubbing. The other issue is the tongue. Adidas chose to use a minor amount of padding in the center of the tongue. I’m not sure if it was to reduce weight or cost, but it’s another feature that needs improvement.

Huge ImprovementI grabbed a pair of Boston 11 on sale last year thinking they couldn’t be as bad as everyone said. I was immediately appalled by how stiff, blocky, heavy, and unstable they were. They were not welcoming to put on. Even the laces hurt. I wore them casually for a few weeks and they softened up some but never enough to be very useful as an Adios Pro training companion. It felt every time like spraining an ankle in extreme slow motion just to walk around in them. The Boston 12 is excellent in every way the previous version was not. The upper is pliable and less fussy. The Lightstrike Pro foam is softer to the touch and the Lightstrike 2.0 carrier is lighter and more forgiving. The wider platform makes it more stable and less like standing on narrow wooden blocks. The lacing system seems to solve the usual adizero lace bite problem. In sum, it feels like a trainer version of the Adios Pro 3.

Fast shoe, solid remodel!Awesome over the 11. Fast, as fast as you want to go. Felt great a 5:30's and 9:30's. Broke in on 1st run, not 50th. Sides will not bust with this upper. Go for it if on the fence, great shoe!

My marathon shoeI am a slower runner. I did a few long runs in the Boston 12s with some tempo and I am decided that these will be my marathon shoe. First, they are very comfortable. Second, I noticed my legs recover much faster after the runs. Last time I did 18 miles mostly slow and some added tempo miles and the shoes felt so good.

Great tempo shoeVery nice shoe! Didn’t try last few versions; but had ones with boost a few years back. I got adios pro 3 and love it but wanted a trainer that cost less to go with it. This is great companion . not the best for super easy days but can make it work for anything; better for slightly up tempo training and it has just enough cushioning for me to run up to 8-10 miles and cruise at 7 to 8 min mile paces. Great outsole stable and supportive and grip is superb. The upper is great for wet or heavy sweating as mesh is breathable and not too absorbing a material. Wide enough for most wide feet runners ; I have to cinch down the laces a fair bit and I have a narrow heel and wider forefoot and it has worked for me so far.

Great update to Boston series! by A LOT!The Boston 8 had best upper and fit. Good cushion in boost But the boost was heavy, the drop was too high at 10mm. The Boston 12 on the other hand is my current favorite daily trainer , roads and trails. Great versatility for fast speed work and long trail runs in the mountains. Did a trail 50k in them and they were sturdy and performed well except on excessive downhills (would have liked more padding/width in the heel , the light strike 2.0 base layer and heel area is way softer than the brick Boston 11’s in a good way. The upper is typical no nonsense , good fit overall with ample toe room and narrow heel. But not the most comfortable. A little plasticky. Love the lightstrike pro in forefoot and slight heel area. Springy , cushy and responsive. smooth ride when you land mid foot to forefoot . My only gripe is shoe lace area. That’s where it’s an issue to get a great lockdown. Also think that adidas should go to an all lightstrike pro mid-sole and widen the heel area a little more. For a less harsh and more comfortable landing for heel strikers and better for run long distances, especially long downhills. the 6mm drop is perfect! Make a trail traction to go with these and we have a great road to trail option. Great work Adidas! Hallelujah!

Ultimate super shoeWhen i first got them i took them on a 9mi run, and they felt awesome. The shoe responds so well as you put more power into it and is as good as any race shoe imo. The only thing is the lacing which you just need to double knot them to secure them. I wish adidas would do better in the lacing department. The upper has been called corse but i find it great. Seriously only shoe you need to own.

Softer but still firmNoticeably lighter and softer than the 11s, but still pretty firm out of the box. Waiting to see if the new version of Lightstrike softens up a bit. Reworked upper is more comfortable than 11, but the new lacing is not as intuitive.

Big improvement over the 10 & 11Got these shoes last week and have a couple runs in them, and wow, they are so much better than the prior 2 versions. From the upper to to the midsole and outsole, all are improvements. Slightly wider in the toe box, thin tongue but does stay in place for a solid lockdown. The lightstrike 2.0 is definitely much softer than regular lightstrike. The outsole grips great and the rubber tends to be a bit thinner than the last version. For my men's size 12 this clocks in around 10.8 ounces with is well over an ounce lighter than the 11. The ride is much better and comfort level much better. Great training partner to the Adios Pro and good to take on longer runs.
