0-13mm. The Shoe generally does not have a midsole and feels like there is no cushioning. This shoe is all about feeling the ground underfoot.
-
Minimal
14-18mm. The shoe has a thin midsole that allows for a natural running experience. Racing shoes and minimalist shoes are common here. These shoes offer a feeling of being connected to the road or trail.
-
Low
19-23mm. The shoe has a slightly cushioned feel and may feature added cushioning technologies. Performance training shoes and some trail shoes are common here. These offer protection during footstrike but prioritize a lightweight, grounded experience.

-
High
29-34mm. The shoe has a thick midsole and ample cushioning. These shoes are highly protective and absorb more impact than the body.
-

Stability Level
-
Neutral Running Shoes
Neutral shoes support the foot through a normal range of arch collapse and generally do not have built-in technology to correct movement.
-
Stability Running Shoes
Stability shoes are a great option for those who overpronate or need added support. These shoes help to limit the inward rolling motion of the ankle while running or walking and assist in guiding the foot straight through the gait cycle.
Product Details:
Speedland goes Dark Mode with the GS:BLK! Mixing matte and shiny finishes, this blackout stunner isn't just for long races, but can handle all your daily training with responsive comfort.
To relish the long miles like its essentially identical GS siblings, the GS:BLK's midsole is taller than its GL cousins. But the energetic and durable 100% HTPU superfoam remains the same for the carrier base layer. Directly under your soles, the proprietary foam of the drop-in core layer adds plush responsiveness. Like other Speedland models, this core is removable to add an optional Carbitex GearFlex carbon fiber plate (sold separately), if desired.
The premium upper is made of ripstop mesh to keep your feet protected and secure, with strategic high-tenacity fiber for durability. Its PerformFit Wrap is activated by the BOA Fit System's two multi-directional Li2 dials. These advanced dials allow you to make micro-adjustments tighter and looser as the Wrap overlays secure all the key areas of your feet. So now, quicker and easier than ever, you can tighten up for technical descents or loosen up for more comfort on the flats.
Connecting you to the trail, the Michelin Fiber Lite outsole features 4.5 mm lugs for an ideal balance of sticky traction and smoother runnability. The lug tips are designed as cuttable blocks, if you wish to trim them shorter. If you run in humid environments or through creeks regularly, you have the option to cut open the drainage hole under the arch.
All in all, the Speedland GS:BLK is engineered to be the ultimate performance trail shoe for long distances. For maximum cushioning and responsiveness, lock in and crush big miles like never before!

Technologies
MIDSOLE
- Beaded 100% HTPU superfoam is supercritical aliphatic TPU for higher energy return, superior abrasion resistance, and long-lasting performance. This external bottom layer acts as a carrier for the internal drop-in core.
- Proprietary drop-in core foam is a supercritical blend of OBC, EVA, and nylon compounds for a slightly plusher but still responsive underfoot experience. This thick layer (15 mm heel / 10 mm forefoot) is removable to insert the optional Carbitex GearFlex carbon fiber plate (sold separately). This shoe isn't compatible with custom or third-party orthotics, insoles, or inserts.
OUTSOLE
- Michelin OC1 rubber with Fiber Lite delivers a superb balance of sticky grip and high durability across variable surfaces.
- 4.5 mm lugs offer an ideal blend of aggressive trail running grip and smoother runnability. The tips are cuttable if you wish to trim them shorter, for example if you're almost exclusively on very dry and hard-packed trails.
- Optional drainage hole under the arch comes sealed but gives you the ability to cut it open if desired.
UPPER
- High-tenacity mesh is tightly woven for durability, protection, foot lockdown, and defense against fine debris.
- PerformFit Wrap combines three supportive overlays to securely wrap all vital areas of your foot.
- BOA Fit System utilizes two multi-directional Li2 dials to engage the PerformFit Wrap. These dials offer micro-adjustability in both directions, allowing you to instantly tighten the fit for bombing technical descents and loosen the fit for comfort as quickly and as often as you like.
