Track and Field Jump Spikes

The track & field jump events include long jump, triple jump, pole vault, and high jump. To learn which jump shoes are best for your event, read our Beginner's Guide to Jump Events.

Long Jump Spikes

Long jump spikes, similar to sprinting spikes, pair a snug and narrow fit that acts as an extension of the foot with a stiff spike plate for propulsion. In contrast, long jump spikes contain more cushioning for impact absorption as well as a mid-foot strap to keep the foot as locked in as possible.

Triple Jump Spikes

Triple jump spikes and pole vault spikes feature many of the same characteristics and can be used for either event. The big difference is that triple jump spikes feature a higher level of cushioning.

High Jump Spikes

High Jump Spikes are different than the traditional jump spikes as they have spikes at the ball of the foot and also four extra spikes on the heel. These extra spikes serve to aid the jumper in transitioning from their run up to take off.
